Better than Love delivers a strong, powerful social commentary.
13 September 2020
The performance of the main actor is perfect. You feel his genuine kindness being strained and how much pressure he's got on his shoulders as he's trying to get clear of the gheto life. You sense his will to escape the dealing business and his crave for a better life. His descent into hell serves as an exemple and aims to deliver a positive message. The cast is without flaws. The story is strong. It's an important drama.

Very John Carpenter like!
13 September 2020
The Stalker plays well with how fear can be misleading. The tension grows exponentially in the nice mystery thriller that reminded me of John Carpenter's work. I love the use of the music, it really helip adding to the tension. The plot gets more and more complexe as the movie keeps inroducing more creepy characters. You end up having suspicions on everybody before you know who is the stalker...and who he's actually stalking.

I was hypnotized from the beginning.
20 July 2020
What an amazing surprise! I thought the cinematography was impeccable. What a mysterious and captivating music and premise, out of a good Tim Burton film (the openning reminded me somehow of The Sleepy Hollow, storytelling wise!) Was this movie fully storyboarded? Cause it sure looks like it was! Some shots are so well thought of and help build the tension. The whole film creates a very high suspense and almost without a single dialogue! The perfect exemple of the famous screewriting quote : show, don't tell. I was hooked from the first minute! The way the whole plot was unwrapping, with such a finesse made me think of "The Machinist". Definetly the same kind of tension. Bravo!

An emotional journey!
10 July 2020
Watching "Turnover" was a very emotional journey! The writing is deep and moving. The cast is great. Such a strong diversity of characters dealt with in a truely heartfelt way. Definetly a feel good movie that I recommand for both its powerful story and its lifelikeness. And the great music really ties everything together perfectly.

A modern retaling of Thelma and Louise
2 July 2020
A touching cultural clash and a profonde friendship story. A very intelligent script. Two amazing main actresses who make you forget you're watching a film. It's truely a flawless first film for the talented director. I thought there was a Thelma and Louise touch which I particularly enjoyed.

I was hypnotized - still am - by this very sensitive piece of work. There is a true poetry to it and a superb cinematography. The characters felt very organic and sincere, thoroughfully developed, and played by top level actors. A compelling story and an interesting dive into the Theatre culture.

Truely Magical
24 June 2020
I'm a big fan of Elon Musk so I was hokked from minute one! I enjoyed this time travel indie film. Small budget but great concept! I love this kind of lead character, the mad scientist with a great heart who wants to fix his past mistakes. You really feel for the guy. It remined me of hits such as Flubber or the nutty professor. I kept imagining our dear Robin Williams in in that. The main actor does a great job and truly honour him. The music was amazing! It really works in selling the magical vibe of the film.

A very sensitive take on the post-apocalyptic genre
10 June 2020
I was impressed to see such the level of sensitivity in a post-apocalyptic zombie movie, that definetly isn't just that. This story of a man who just refuses to give up on his loved one even when there is no hope is strong and powerful. The music, the slow pace and the overall ambiance and tone work in setting up the emotional journey of the hero. You really feel for him and understand him.

A truely delightful musical!
2 June 2020
Vampire Burt's Serenade is one of the most original indie movie I've ever seen. And boy, oh boy, I've seen a lot. It's a great entertainment, throw in a few millions of dollars and you get a Baz Luhrmann film! Althought the director definetly has his very own vision. Although it deals with a huge amount of violence - obviously - it's also very joyful (but not in a sadistic kind of way).

The Crow meets 8MM - Great Mystery Thriller
2 June 2020
I love non-linear story telling and Everlasting does it so right. The story is compelling from the start and you have no choice but to embark on this mysterry thriller, which gets disturbingly dark. The young actors are so good. The vibe of the movie reminded me of The Crow or 8MM.

A fine mystery thriller!
2 June 2020
I've always enjoyed the "cluedo" kind of movies where the wheel tis turning to see who did it! This mystery thriller was definetly entertaining. It's never easy to display that many characters but it works just fine in For The Weekend and that gives us many possibilities, plus the acting is nice. The movie made me think of "les petits mouchoirs" de Guillaume Canet , but on steroids indeed, with a great deal of suspens and tension.

Hyper tense thriller!
29 May 2020
The director is so skilled at building tension. I love the intense atmospheric ambiance that acompanies the film. The dark - and A-Game- acting, the slow pace that progressively speeds up, everything works towards putting together this tension so you're ready for the great finale! It definetly has a kind of David Fincher Touch! It mostly mad me think of The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo! The cinematography is outstanding! What a great watch!

What an original piece of art!
17 May 2020
I thought the script was greatly written, there are some unpredictable twists. The acting is very appealing, too. I totally felt for the main girl. The story is compelling, espacialy when you're a young filmmaker yourslef! The whole movie is well paced for an entertaining watch plus a delightful touch of dark humour. The visul is as well developed as the script. I'm looking forward for Moez Solis's next project!

Very original and entertaining comedy
12 May 2020
Very enjoyable and mostly original rom-com. It's a truely interesting dive into the kiwi culture from the point of view of Sid, Indian from New Delhi. It's an eye opener on the difficulties that exist when trying to fit in a new culture, espacially for Indians with have a very strong culture background.

A in-depth, entertaining romcom
8 May 2020
I've always enjoyed those feel-good coral romcoms that come out on Valentine's Day and this one really belongs with the rest of them. Those movies are very therapeutic and makes you see your own relationship troubles with a peaceful eye. What Love Looks like shows a whole range of dating situations which makes the whole movie realistic and well paced for an entertaining watch. The cast is great, I enjoyed Theodore, I though he was very funny with his clumsy flirting. The cinematography is nice, the tone of the movie is vibrant and pleases the eye. Great job.

The healing powers of music
5 May 2020
Right from the beginning I felt for the main character, there is a real kindness to him that fills you with compassion. This drama gets really dark at times, terrible things happen to this kid but it is still a feel-good movie because he finds himself through his passion for country music and uses it to get up on his feet, no matter what life throws at him. No matter the interpreter, what matters is the healing power of meaningful lyrics. A therapeutic film in a way.

A work of art!
5 May 2020
More than a movie, watching call for dreams was a lot like being hypnotized by a beautiful, abstract painting in some museum. It's a truely poetic way to tell a story. And what a great visual style! Each shot is well thought out and lit. The dp did one hell of a job! There is a Blade Runner dreamy look that works perfectly with the story, and I also thought of Nicolas Winding Refn, especially Only God Forgives! But it definitely has its own touch.

A very entertaining and original miss contest
30 April 2020
Miss Multiverse Australia has almost a Fear Factor touch which makes it very appealing. This miss contest is tougher and not centered on beauty but more on the personnality and mindset. These strong women have heart! The whole competition is really about being the best version of themselves through those original and interesting challenges they have to tackle.

I had a blast!
26 April 2020
I love the use of the breaking of the fourth wall to tell the story and the voice over. I kinda saw the character of Kat as a sort of Tyler Durden to the main character David. By the way, A Game Actors! Aside from having a great comedic power, the main actor is truely touching as this guy with a messed up, fragile state of emotions. His introduction is not rushed and you feel for the guy and understand why he lets Kat into his life and start this crazy, unconventional relationship with her. Very well developed charatcters! A truely, both original and unconventional, but realistic way of telling a love story. It starts almost as a comedy but ends up being this deep and compelling tale of a sensitive and fragile human being learning to love himself.

A therapeutic thriller
17 December 2019
A very psychological experience! I love those kind of therapeutic movies. 8Remains is very intense and never stops to play with your mind. The locations were beautiful and chilling which makes for a darker ambience. Plus the cinematography is excellent. A terrific thriller about fighting to stay alive. A battle between past, present and future. A truely clever and complexe script. I also loved the end credit sequence!

A very emotional experience
17 December 2019
I thought the whole story was profonde and touching! Quite an emotional experience. The movie takes its time to develop the characters and you really feel for them. Plus the actors did a great job! It's also a complexe, intricated story as life often is so again it felt real. A truely humane piece of work.
