Lost (1983)
Worst of the Worst
I have seen the worst movie ever, and it was way better than this movie. At least it makes me appreciate good movies even more.
The Mask (1961)
Great Movie For Halloween
Spoiler Alert: There is a bit of choreography (dancing) in the horror scenes, which somehow I like, and it quickly becomes time for the rubber room for those ill-fated dummies with doctoral degrees that try wearing the mask.
Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957)
Greatest Movie Ever!
Who are these people weighing this masterpiece down to a 4? Can't you recognize perfection when you see it? Do you have a brain and a heart? Your opinions are worthless, and they smell like a fart...
Charlie Chan in Rio (1941)
Historical Significance
Spoiler Alert: It's interesting that this is listed as released on 5 September 1941, and Charlie's son is drafted into WW2, but the Pearl Harbor sneak attack didn't happen for over 3 months after the movie was released on December 7, 1941, and the US officially entered the war on December 11, 1941. What was it like back then where Hollywood would be grooming us for the war and the draft over 3 months before the war happened? They had actually implemented a peace time draft about a year before, and the US leadership had already picked sides and decided to go to war, so they had over a year build the message - "We are going to war." I knew the US was being propagandized back then, but I had no idea it was this blatant.
Alienate (2016)
No aliens shown... the girlfriend dies
My summary is the entire plot of this movie. The rest of the movie is a bunch of cry-baby dialog, unnatural actions (I blame the director) and more cry-baby dialog. There were a few seconds of some alien drones, but they were not impressive in the least. If you are a fledgling amateur movie producer, this movie could be an inspiration in that anyone (including you) could make a better movie than this 1.
Il était une fois Jean-Sébastien Bach (2003)
I love this movie!
J.S. Bach is my favorite composer and this movie explored his life in a way I never took the time to do myself.
I ran into this movie by accident and it was a pleasant surprise.
I now have a great appreciation of the man behind the music.
It also gives a hint of what it was like for people of his time - a nice period piece.
For example: I didn't even know he had married.
Another example: I didn't know he was incarcerated. Hmm... ex con? That's not really descriptive of his incarceration, but a fun twist on this footnote!
It's a must see for any J.S. Bach fan!
Bounty (2009)
Worst Movie Ever?
I have seen some bad movies, but the best thing I can say for this movie is that it is not the worst I have seen.
I wasn't sure if it was the writer's or the director's fault, but since Jared Isham gets both credits, I can blame it on him.
The same problem goes on throughout this movie over and over.
Bad guy has gun. Good guy has chance to take gun or takes gun. Good guy basically gives the gun back.
I can say that I have never seen a movie squash the suspension of disbelief so many times.
Watching this was painful to say the least.
