Arrow: Brotherhood (2015)
Light's day.
So we start off by saying that this episode was better than the previous one. It felt like I was watching Arrow again and not a random drama series where everyone was whining about everything and nothing.
This episode was focused on following Ghost and try to interrupt any plans they were trying to accomplish. We found out that Diggle's dead brother is not so dead again. That is the only problem I have with this series, nothing stays dead apparently. So Diggle's brother Andy is in Ghost. Probably drugged so he will follow Damian's orders not matter what. We saw that in a scene where Damian gave some random citizens on a dock some yellow pills.
So Diggle knowing now that his brother is alive, he is a bit upset about that. Quite understandable figuring out that your brother is alive after 8 years. Well I would be a bit upset as well, no matter what the excuse is. Team Arrow wants to help Diggle by offering to capture Andy and figure out what really happened. Diggle did not want that all, he gave up on him as he of course also found out the truth about who his brother really is. At the end they did indeed capture Andy and Diggle wanted to know if everything is true about the file that he read about him. A simple 'yes' came out and that was it.
We finally had some Oliver Queen as the Mayor scenes. A few moments after his speech about the Star City Police Department. Damian Darhk came to Oliver. Darhk not knowing that Oliver is the Arrow and was just talking to him as mayor was pretty awesome to see. Of course you saw that Oliver was a little shocked because he was talking to the enemy right now. They had a little talk about the city's future plans and Damian right on top threatened Oliver by not (re)-opening the bay. Oliver did consider that option.
Back to the base of Team Arrow. Diggle and Oliver just came back from a mission together to try and stop Ghost once again/ taking Andy. Oliver almost died. They had an argument together and Diggle came up with a really good idea. If we want to take out Damian we have to do it in light's day. After the last fighting scene Oliver told Diggle that he is going to do that. But he was not telling him how, he'll see. And we saw it. Mayor Queen re-opened the Bay in light's day. Damian was there as well while Queen was giving his speech about that he will not stop fighting for this city. If I were Damian, I would think now that Oliver Queen is The Green Arrow.
So on to Thea. We finally gave her a purpose I guess. Thea's blood lust was a bit boring until Malcolm, her father showed up. He gave her some papers with a name from a pedophile that had to be killed. Thea's answer was a straight no and threatened her father that she will call the police if he he shows up again. So after the last fight in this episode Thea was fighting with some Ghost members (including Andy) she knocked him out. She turned around a corner and there he was, Damian Darhk. The first time in this season where these 2 characters met each other (i think). Damian knows that Malcolm is her father and that Malcolm is the new Ra's Ah Gul. They did not fight, Damian did however grabbed Thea at her throat and then something beautiful happened! Damian released her because apparently when he touched her, something happened to him. You saw him turn around and you saw that was something wrong with him. I can't really explain what I saw, sorry about that. Thea now asked her father to come and help her. She thinks that she found out how to contain her blood lust without killing people.
We also saw a little ATOM action! Two words for it: Freaking Awesome. Can't wait till Legends of Tomorrow where we will see more ATOM Action/ Ray Palmer scenes.
Oh yeah! we also had the flashbacks. Still not interesting in my opinion.
Some + and - points!
+ Diggle emotional scenes.
+ Thea's Bloodlust and Malcolm.
+ ATOM action scenes.
+ Queen as the Mayor speeches.
- The Flashbacks
I will give this episode a 8.2/10
Arrow: Lost Souls (2015)
A bit disappointed, But kind of excited at the same time.
Ray is back boys and girls! We once again resurrected someone. Well not really resurrected, Team Arrow saved him from our Season's enemy Damian Darhk.
Now we finally have the whole Legends of Tomorrow team complete? The Flash is working on recruiting Hawkgirl. But here in Arrow we've seen Sara coming back to live and Ray getting rescued as a tiny man in a box. The scenes where you could see that he was a tiny man in a box was well filmed. Nicely done by the directors, I give them that.
The rest of the episode was not so good in my opinion. Too much relationship problems. Yes of course you have them in relationships but you need to find a line between in it. Felicity was just a whiney girl this whole episode, saying that she was blaming herself that she couldn't save Ray when she was on a road trip with Oliver and that she lost herself in him. Well I am sorry but that is the purpose of being in love. Feeling lost in someone. So she kind of blamed Oliver in that as well. Even though it did not look like it. So they had a little emotional scene together. Nicely acted by both Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards.
We had an awesome old school Oliver and Diggle scene with Russian Vodka. Wait it was Tennessee Whisky this time. I am so happy that they are friends again.
I can quite understand why Felicity was being a bit whiney. Ray her ex-boyfriend apparently is still alive and he is in trouble so she wants to save him. But it felt unnatural. It was too easy to save him as well btw. Just make a big science thingy (forgot the name) and shoot at the box where Ray was put in and done! At least getting one of those parts for that science thing was a 'Challenge'.
Speaking about a challenge. Well Damian Darhk, this guy is a big threat. I had a Little "WOW" moment when he almost strangled Arrow with a chain with his mind. This was the first time this season that I was actually convinced that Damian Darhk is a threat. It took 6 episodes. To be honest, when we heard about Zoom in The Flash and we actually saw him I immediately felt threatened even though I am just a random The Flash viewer. So they finally convinced me in Arrow that there are threats in Starling City. Last time I had that was in Season 2 were Deathstroke/ Slade Wilson was the enemy. I miss that guy, he was awesome.
So on to Sara! Why was she back in the team in the first place? She just got resurrected by 'The Pit'. Everyone knows what is happening to you when you just got out of it. Rage, a lots of rage. So she casually killed a few guys while they were on their missions and it looked like the team did not care at all. That bothered me a lot because their moral code is just like Batman's. We don't kill people. Yes they were shocked when she was doing it but no one was really stopping her or anything. So that sucked. Oh and she is gone now! again! To get her head cleared or something.
Donna Smauke and Quentin? Well that was a bit unexpected but it would be fun to see that actually happen. Can't wait to see Felicity's reaction that her mother is dating the detective of Starling City. That is funny enough something to look forward to it. Thea and the campaign manager scenes were not necessary at all. I don't care about Thea's love life. We don't have Roy anymore so I couldn't care less.
I am forgetting something. Oh yeah the Flashbacks. Last episode was so much more interesting. The flashbacks in this episode not so much. Terrible acting by that other guard btw.
Some + and - points!
+ Emotional Scene.
+ Diggle and Oliver and some whisky/vodka/bromance.
+ Damian Darhk being an actual threat.
+ Ray is back.
+ Donna and Quentin?
- Felicity being a bit too whiney.
- Sara being in the team.
- Sara gone. Again.
- Boring Flashbacks.
- Giving Thea a potential love life.
I will give this Episode a 7.2/10
The Flash: Enter Zoom (2015)
Nice Try!
This is by far the best episode of The Flash. Including Season 1. Zoom is scary, I can't say anything more about that.
The episode starts with a fight between Dr. Light and The Flash, where Dr Light beats him and takes his Lightning emblem and that's it. And of course we were watching in the future.
So 72 hours earlier. They make up a plan to bait Zoom by using Dr Light, and try to beat him. It did not work, the baiting did! Only not at that moment but a few hours or so later, it did work yes. But beating him? Not so much. The Flash gets crushed like an ant. Hearing him say at the end of the Episode that he cannot feel his legs is saying enough. Zoom is a nasty speedster, you even hear the thunder when he runs from the roof to the ground. Hell he even caught a thunderbolt that The Flash was throwing at him and easily threw it back to The Flash.
The rest of Team Flash was doing great. Trying their best to keep The Flash safe. Harrison Wells made a gun that could stop Zoom from using his speed but it did not work, just for like 2 seconds with a bit of pain and then he just casually flashed away.
Cisco trying to use his powers to see if Wells was holding back some secrets were hilarious scenes. It did not work the first time but the second time was enough to see where Wells his daughter was on Earth 2. So we finally got that one out.
The relationship between Barry and Patty are so cute. I still like them together as a couple. Only thing I am thinking about is that how we will she react when she sees Barry in a wheelchair because he can't use his legs, will he tell her that he is The Flash. Or is Barry going to avoid her and stay in Star Labs to recover? I kind of hope the first one though, I think that Patty deserves to know who Barry really is, especially because she wants to help catching the bad meta humans. She was also trying to make a better trusting work- relationship with Joe. Joe was not really paying any attention to that, not even on the fact that She and Barry kissed. He couldn't care less.
When Zoom punched The Flash a couple of times and broke his back. He ran to the news station giving a speech, to the police station to give a speech and as the last location. Star Labs. Where he speaks to Wells personally about trying to defeat him with this loser as The Flash. This was so perfectly well written and acted that I had to mention it in this review.
Overall this was a really good episode. Happy to have seen some Zoom action.
Some + and - points!
+ Zoom is scary.
+ Cisco moments.
+ Barry + Patty.
+ Well written scenes + acting.
+ Dr Light + The Flash hilarious fake fights.
No - points for this episode. So a 10/10 for this episode
Gotham: Rise of the Villains: Tonight's the Night (2015)
Barbara is/was? doing some fine work!
Alright so we begin the episode where Barbara wakes up from a nightmare and sees that Mayor Galavan gave her a gift (probably her wedding dress). And she hears that it is finally time to kill James Gordon! And the way how she tries it is B-E-AUTIFUL!
So after a few minutes in the Episode, You see Barbara in the police station with her hands above her head. Wants to talk to James only in the interrogation room and wanted to show James something what was obviously a trap. Of course they fell for it by playing her part and letting her think she is in control. So they get ambushed. James gets captured (apparently they also got Leslie, how?). And there she was. In her wedding dress but instead of flowers, she was holding a 2 barrel shotgun. You could really see on her face that she was excited that she could finally kill James. After some talking and trying to play some mind games with both James and Leslie by telling that James is not an honest man. James finally escaped this madness by releasing himself from the ropes behind his chair and now had the overhand by pointing the shotgun at Barbara. The police arrive, she runs away, James is chasing her, sees her there standing there with a knife in her hand and starts running to James trying to kill him. They have a small fight and break the window. Barbara falls down but she is still alive because the bushes under her saved her fall. She is badly hurt though.
Barbara did tell James about that Mayor Aubrey James is still alive. So they rescue him at the docks.
Bruce Wayne gets an offer from Mayor Galavan. You sell a part of the Wayne Interprises to me and you get to know who is behind the killing of your parents. David Mazouz (Bruce) Showed his potential as an actor here. You could see that he was troubling and thinking about signing the papers or not. At the moment he wanted to sign it he changed his mind. Few moments later James walks in with a handful of cops and tells Alfred to get Bruce to safety. James punches Galavan in the face and then arrests him.
Nygma is in the woods burying Miss Kringle. Wanted to share his last thoughts with a glass of wine. He gets interrupted by a guy. Guy sees something in the chest where Miss Kringle her body parts are in and starts asking What is that?. He gets a shovel in his neck and bye bye random guy. After some walking back to his car to get more tools so he could actually bury the random guy he sees that someone stole his sandwich. He later finds out that the guy that stole is our beloved Penguin.
Some + and - points!
+ Erin Richards (shout outs to her as Barbara)
+ Church scene
+ Galavan finally caught
+ Nygma is slowly transforming into The Riddler. Without his evil mind twin.
- The obvious trap and still falling for it when they know that it is a trap.
I will give this episode a 8.8/10
Arrow: Haunted (2015)
One of my favorite Episodes of this season so far!
In the last episode we saw that Sara Lance escaped and that was the end of that episode. This episode we saw her trying to find and kill Thea (the person that killed Sara in Season 3 Episode 2). She almost did it a few times but every time there was something in between like Oliver himself rescuing her. It was a nice touch to see Sara going wild.
On to the crossover special guest of today! John Constantine (awesome char)! I've only watched the first episode of his series, I did not really like it. But because of this episode I might just try watch it again and see what all the hype is about. We saw Oliver + Constantine together in the Flashbacks and because John owed Oliver a favor, Oliver calls him about a problem and that is of course Sara. The synergy between these two were amazingly well done. Even though I think this is the first time they've been together on the screen as actors.
We see Detective Lance and Diggle working together. I did not expect that to be really honest but eh, it was worth it. They have great synergy together so there is that. Also we finally know what really happened to Diggle his brother. I think that Diggle is going to drop this case on HIVE about his Brother and just move on. He will still help Team Arrow defeating Damian Darhk of course.
What I did not like was the intro of this episode, was a bit sloppy (did I spell that right?). Yes we saw Sara going mental on two guys and trying to kill a Thea look-a-like but it did not convince me that she was that angry. It more looked like a escaped gorilla from the zoo jumping everywhere and trying to kill everything. Luckily the writers did a good job restoring that, by giving the other fight scenes against Sara a good look, not just jumping around and trying to imitate a gorilla. (except the Thea bait part... My god... Awful I'm sorry to say that). That part was too easy and also really sloppy.
I love the scenes between Laurel and Oliver this episode. I've never really liked Laurel. But because of this I think I'm slightly starting to like her. She made some really good points against Oliver. I was just nodding my head the whole argument.
And let's not forget the Ray Palmer part of course! He is alive! The ATOM is still alive. But he is in trouble, so I think that the next episode will be about trying to find him/ finding out where he is and what the problems are.
Some + and - Points!
+ Sara / White Canary is back, Awesome! yaay.
+ Detective Lance and Diggle working together.
+ John Constantine/ Flashbacks.
+ Ray Palmer is alive!
+ Laurel and Oliver scenes.
- The sloppy scenes.
Thanks for reading!
The Flash: Grodd Lives (2015)
What happens next ?
First of all, this is my first review ever, sorry for any mistakes/ my English (not my native language)
alright so let's start with the beginning of this episode. Iris confronts Barry/The Flash about keeping his secret, too bad it is a cliché in the way of: I am mad now because my dad + "my best friend" kept a secret from me. Please don't try to be the victim Iris, just accept that everyone has secrets even your own father and "best friend".
The Grodd part was really awesome. Only thing I did not like was the way how Eiling said it. "I am Grodd, FEAR ME!" I loved the FEAR ME, but not the I am Grodd (to be honest I almost thought he said "I am Groot" (Guardians of the Galaxy reference)". For the rest I did not expect that Grodd was huge, like really really huge. It's a Gorilla of course they are huge, but yeah did not expect this. Also i've never read the comics of flash so it was a really awesome surprise to see the ability what Grodd can do (mind-control), that was really awesome and surprising for me.
You can really see that Cisco, Caitlin and The Flash are struggling without Wells his help, but still they do their best and it worked out really well. Of course we have our Cisco humor and his movie references that is always a +point in my opinion.
The small parts with Eddie and Wells were good. You now see that Wells is the real villain and does not care at what will happen to the rest as long as he can go back home. Can't wait until the final conflict between The Reverse Flash and The Flash. Too bad there were not a lot of scenes between Eddie and Wells.
When Grodd kidnapped Joe was so good. I mean with that is that Joe was sometimes in danger in former episodes but he was not that afraid because "The Flash" would rescue him anyway. Still The Flash rescued him here as well but Joe was so scared that he would die and will never come back again to say sorry or whatever to Iris.
Overall I think that this episode was a great!
+ Great acting
+ Grodd
+ Cisco's humor (just love it)
+ Wells manipulating Eddie about the future
+ Joe being in danger (real danger)
- The I am mad because you kept a secret from me cliché
- Not so many Eddie/ Wells scenes
- The I am Grodd reference.
I will give this episode a 8.2/10
