The Beekeeper (2024)

Very disappointing

Very bad script, laughable dialogues, and very bad acting by Emmy Raver-Lampman. She seems just a big fan of Jason Statham who was invited to be in the film.

She was not a good choice for an important role.

A total waste of talents like Jeremy Irons and Minnie Driver (what a tiny role!)

The only thing that matters is the scenes done by Jason Statham. His scenes asre well performed.

The plot is not believable and the other scenes except the ones with Jason are excruciatingly to watch, as they are so ridiculous.

Some actors that are also good and have potential: Taylor James and Josh Hutcherson.

Manhunt (2024)

Poor adaptation - Laughable

Tobias Menzies is the only to spare. He is a great actor since I saw him in The Terror.

Since the first scene with Mr. Booth riding a horse, you can see the background is CGI.

This could be better done.

When I saw Lincoln for the first time I started laughing. Is this am impersonation or the son of Lincoln?

I cannot speak more since I gave up watching.

It is a pity that the book of Mr Swanson was so badly adapted.

Apple has some problems choosing the showrunners .

The Masters of the Air was anoither big mistake. The producers invest a lot of money but the ones who execute are not doing a good job.

Expats (2023–2024)

This drama deserved a better director

Lulu Wang is not bad, but this TV show deserved a more fast-driven drama.

She was restless until she finally showed Jack Huston completely naked. It seems tthat directors like her and also Tom Tykwer have an orgasm when they show a naked male. They make a great effort to make the stars feel ackward during this kind of scene.

The first episode was good, the second not so good but they were engaging, although a little slow paced.

I stopped watched when the actor appears naked and why this scene was necessary? To cause an impact and wake up the audience?

Nicole is fine, as slim as ever and the other actos are good. If they had a ,more talented director, this drama would be very good liike the second season of The White Lotus, for example.

Halo: Sword (2024) Season 2, Episode 2

Poor Writing in this Season 2

Episode 2 of Season 2 is really boring.

The new boss is laughing too much. A cliché character who everybody lnows from the start that he will a 'villain''.

What is happening with the writerss of the TV Shows recently. Halo is no different from The Masters of the Air.

Very good CGI but bad writing.

In this episode there is a blind man who is training one the soldiers.

With so much advance in technology shown at this time of the show , why is there blind peoople still?

Master Chief seems to be stuck in his character development. They will need one more season to work on this?

I hope they improve the writing for the next episodes and also brighten up the cinematography.

Most of the scenes are dark and it is difficult to follow.

Babylon Berlin (2017–2025)

The 4th International and Mass Murders??

I was loving the first season of thisTV show, especially after the second episonde with that awesome, fantastic singing presentation.. Then, the series made a lot of historical big mistakes, such as the 4h International in the end of the 20s, what should be only in the end of 30s, and them at the sixth episode I think, one character talks about mass murders by Lenin and Htiler. Hitler came to power only years later. The director/producer Tom Tikwer shoudl be a voyeur, because he loves to show nudity in all his films, but could be more careful with the script. Although, to the audience who does not care about , it is a good TV show, especially for the main characters played by Volker Bruch, Liv Lisa Fries and especially Petter Kurth.

Star Trek: Picard: The Next Generation (2023) Season 3, Episode 1

Akiva Goldsman blew it again!

Since this guy joined Star Fleet it is all the same boring, fast-tlaking characters and his obsession of having subplot in all episodes.

I watched two episodes and the bad feeling continues.

Subplot means one thing: you main plot is weak.

ST Discovery is the same thing.

Great loss of good actors althoug the special effects are really goods.

STOS never had subplots and I miss it. At the end of the 60s they didn´t have technical expertise or a lot of money to spend on each episode but the plots were very good, with awesome creativity.

Akiva must be sent to subspace. He does not honor Gene Roddenberry.

The White Lotus (2021–2025)

Season 2 is much better than Season 1

The show deserves all the Emmys.

I decided to watch because of the presences Tom Hollander and our eternal Salieri F. Murray Abraham.

Murray in a small role and seems that he was paid for eating not for acting. But his presence is fantastic.

The same for Tom Hollander who will be Truman Capote in 2023.

My praise also goes to Haley Lu Richardson (Portia) and Aubrey Plaza (Harper)

I heard that the season 3 is confirmed and that it will be located in Asia this time. Much possibly neither of the characters of the two seasons will be present in the third one.

The first season was about money, the second about sex and the third about religion/spiritualism.

Westworld: Journey into Night (2018) Season 2, Episode 1

I watched 1st Season but I am out

The show seemed interesting, sometimes a bit confusing and actors and actresses having to show themselves in the nude.

I feel a little upset by this and HBO did not need to use it for attracting audience.

In the first episode of the second season the confusing script comes back again and HBO in its renewed attempt to bring audience to the new season shows a full frontal nude.

That´s too much for me.

I am out.

Boring and Miscast

Gregory Peck is miscast as the Spanish rebel. Tony Quinn should have played the leading character.

Fred Zinnemmann has directed a lot of very good films (From Here to Eternity, among them), but he is very bad in this one. The screenplay does not help it anyway, Gred Peck has the same face 20 years past and 20 years ahead. To be a Spanish rebel is the secret of youth?

The soundtrack by Maurice Jarre reminded me of Lawrence of Arabia.

I give 5/10 just for Gregory Peck, Anthony Quinn and Omar Sharif.

The film is not good, not the genuine and good brand of Fred Zinnemann´s, and the proof of that is that the film is now on complete oblivion. Fred should have done better if he portrayed the Civil War, not afterwards.

Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)

Not worth watching

Poor acting, specially from little Princess (pain in the neck) Leia.

Ewan is executive producing? Better improve for future episodes or the series will not reach second season (if any).

Even the music theme by John Williams is not very good, considering his great reputation.

The theme for The Mandalorian is much better.

Baptiste: Episode #2.6 (2021) Season 2, Episode 6

Tcheky Karyo and Fiona Lewis are fantastic!

Do not pay attention to the ratings.

Watch this second season and you won´t regret.

Just six episodes.

It is a pity that Baptiste has finally retired.

But who knows?

I will miss his peculiar gait.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Strange New Worlds (2022) Season 1, Episode 1

Akiva Goldsman ir ruining all Star Trek series

Is there anybody else to write for ST? Only Akiva? He´s been ruining all the TV series about Star Trek. Busted up ST Discovery and seems to be doing the same with STNW.

I know it is just the first episode, but the first episode shows the tone of the show.

The 60s TV series had excellent scripts and writing and poor CGI compared to the 2020´s. But now we have excellent CGI and very poor writing.

It is a pity Bob Justman died.

The Offer (2022)

Unlikelihood at this best

I was excited to watch the series but I stopped at the middle of first episode. Could not watch it anymore. Bad writing and bag direction. Things did not happen as they showed. The audience does not like and do no have confidence in scripts that deliver things so flawless. A good director cannot do a good thing with a bad script.

Halo: Reckoning (2022) Season 1, Episode 5

Fantastic Episode!

The best one up to now. Halo will be a great success. Maybe because Steven Spielberg has been involved with the series.

This is real sci-fi and action which is unfortunately missing in the Star Trek spinoffs, with too much blah-blah.

Akiva Goldsman. Learn something with Halo. Since Akiva joined the Star Fleet all the series have been a mess and not honoring the STOS.

Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)

Good production, but very bad writing. Please stay away, Akiva Goldsman.

Bad writing since Akiva Goldsman came aboard the Star Trek Universe. Jesus!

It happened with Star Trek Discovery and is happening the same with Picard. They create too many lines of dialog and complicated expressions, which difficult the understanding of the script.

He has the abjected idea of having several plots in one episode fragmenting the narrative.

I hope the new Star Trek version with Anson Mount will have better writing. Just look at the ST The Original Series, beautifully produced by the showrunner Robert Justman.

I rate 5 just for the production.

Foundation (2021– )

A waste of a big star like Jared Harris

I am really disappointed.

I was looking forward to seeing this new sci-fi show, based on Asimov´s books and that his daughter would be a consultant for the series.

The 4 stars are just the production design and CGI.

It is time to save the show and rewrite everything for the second season. There´s still vast material from the books.

Gods and Generals (2003)

Good actors and a very good production.

But (there is always a but) the movie makes you sleep sometimes. It does not bring high emotions to you.

And they should have done something with the dialogues. Seems that the characters have come down from Heavens, speaking like Gods and poetic phrases.

The producers spend a lot of time and money to bring a historical precision to the movie but the dialogues are pretty far fro the reality of that time.

American Crime Story (2016– )

Season 2 is about Andrew Cunanan, not about Versace

Darren Criss is excellent as Andrew Cunanan, but the miniseries is most about Cunanan and a few glimpses about Versace.

Versace is just a golden bait for people to watch the season 2.

I stopped by to see the very good Edgar Ramirez, but nevertheless Darren is the leading actor and he is real fine.

The Crown (2016–2023)

Season 3 is much better than Season 4

I made good efforts to continue watching the episodes of the current season, despite the convincing performances of the actors and actresses. With some criticisms. Gillian Anderson made a enphisema talking Thatcher and Josh O'Connor usually with a inclining head, as if he was holding a 25 kg over his head. Season 3 was definitely much better than Season 4. Season 4 is flat, boring sometimes. Season 5 seems to be promising with Jonathan Pryce as Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret and Imelda Stanton as Elizabeth. And I am still missing Vanessa Kirby and Pip Torrens of Seasons 1 and 2.

The Current War (2017)

Tesla was the real genius at that time

Edison was a bright guy, no doubt about it. Westinghouse was smart and the best business.man.

But it was Tesla who ruled!

And, Jesus, Cumberbatch is acting like is Sherlock Holmes. It is unbearable.

I recommend everybody to read 'The Life and Times of Nikola Tesla" by Marc Seifer.

That´s the book a good film shoud be based on.

The Expanse (2015–2022)

Season 4 is not as I expected

I expected that the new producers would invest more money in the series.

In fact, I think they did, and the new general idea of the rings is great, but the episodes scripting is poor. Most of the time we cannot follow up the script. This is common in most recent sci-fi TV series. The writers want to make the scrip so complex that only the writers can understand. Star Trek Discovery is another example.

Season 4 also spends too much time in dialogues and an excessive number of characters.

This is the best episode of Season 3. Great acting.

The second best of the season is Episode 6 about the Prince of Wales. Good to see Derek Jacobi and Geraldine Chaplin.
