Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005–2008)

One of the best TV shows ever made

This show takes your classic hero's journey and turns it into a fun, creative saga. I like that each episode is about something different, similar to more recent shows like The Mandalorian, but there is still a meaningful story that ties everything together.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)

Underrated and dark

Everyone seems to forget that this is the movie where things actually get much darker. The high school championship story is exciting and there are so many fan favourite moments in this one, like the Ball.

The Legend of Korra (2012–2014)

A bit aimless, but enjoyable

When compared to Avatar this feels less necessary. The storytelling is not as sharp and often feels like it's going nowhere. But it's not a bad show.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)

A classic movie

Such a comfort film - great comedy, really warm characters and a square, good vs. evil story. The effects haven't aged that well, but you forget about it.

An epic and emotional ending to the whole series. The montage of Snape is a particular highlight, as well as the great action sequences. Lots cut from the book, but understand why.

Life of Pi (2012)

Underwhelming drama

This Is Us (2016–2022)

A great show

A very emotional and warm drama. The characters all have their own struggles, and the show treats them with empathy. The storylines are quite heavy sometimes, but there is a good amount of humour to compensate.

Superstore (2015–2021)

Funny and genuine sitcom

A classic feel good comedy. The characters are quirky and likeable. The artificial setting of the store really helps the story, and the plots are not overly ridiculous or dramatic.

Itaewon Class (2020)

Emotional comedy/drama

The plot is complicated and the villains are not threatening when compared to the wider story. The script also tries to make political points that don't really work in the context of an introverted teenage world.

Toy Story 3 (2010)

It's quite different in style and approach to the first two movies. There is more humour, but I felt the story wasn't as engaging. Still very entertaining.

Basic animation but still classic

The CGI has aged quite badly but the story, comedy and characters are just as charming as in 1995. It's definitely a classic.
