Garfield and Friends (1988–1995)

Very Good
4 July 2018
Garfield and Friends was a great cartoon. Because they went back and forth between the two sets of characters in the farm location and Jon's house, it never had a chance to get boring. Just a bunch of very fun short stories. Great voice work and characters.

Good Caper
4 July 2018
It's a good caper with some nice tension and action. Better acting than you would expect in a movie like this.

Sacrifice! (1972)

Watchable

Not the worst of this genre of horror films I have seen. There is not much cannibal action in this but to me that is a good thing as it was always very cheaply and sadly done and I also am not really into the blood and gore stuff. Story is OK with surprisingly decent acting.

Just Average
5 March 2014
This is just an average movie.

I really love a lot of the talent in this movie especially Matt Damon, George Clooney and Bill Murray who I had hoped would be in this movie more than he was. I expected to see more of him based on how prominent he is on the poster and in all of the trailers I had seen previously about the film.

It tells a story and I'm not sure how accurate it is but it is a very interesting story even if they just based it on the basic facts, that a group of soldiers were put together with the purpose of saving valuable art that the Nazis stole during WW2.

But it could have been a lot more entertaining. I thought it would be more like Ocean's 11 or something, definitely more serious than that but with a lot of great comedy.

Puppets Who Kill (2002–2006)
8/10
Bad (but funny) Puppets
4 March 2014
This is a really fun comedy with a really original idea behind it and definitely a very unique concept as well.... it is a half way house for criminal puppets run by a (human) man who is selfish but kind of a pushover.

The show is funny but meant for adults or 18+ audiences only, because these are not your typical puppets, some of them are hard core perverts and sexual deviates (there are a lot of sexual scenes and jokes) and some of them are cold blooded killers who have no problem with murdering people.

It's too bad this show is not still being made because it had real promise and was very funny.

Match Game (2012– )
2/10
One of the Worst Shows on Television Right Now
28 January 2014
This show is a perfect example of how far TV has fallen. Match Game was a winning TV game show formula that featured comedians who were funny in their day. Even watching reruns today you can find the show funny and it is entertaining and also the game show makes sense. But what they have turned it into is shrieking "comedians" who are doing everything they can to make sure they are the one getting on camera and the show has absolutely no intelligence or value at all. The other reviewer hit the nail on the head by saying all the answers are cheap and lowest common denominator. This show is an example of how our society is in decline, sorry if you think that's an exaggeration but I don't think so.

For fun the last time I watched this show (which will be the last time I watch it ever) I wrote down all the answers they gave before turning the channel (which made me feel good about myself). Here are those answers:

Prostitute, hooker, herpes, hooker with books, pearl necklace, prostitutes.

That's not unusual either, pretty much every round most of the answers are sexual or about body parts or bodily functions. The kind of scatological humour you would expect from a five year old or a clinical idiot. I'm not a prude, go ahead and give us the occasional dirty or lowbrow joke, but all the time? Really? Why are you people on TV if this is all you have to offer? Are you all sharing a brain? If so shouldn't at least one of you have the brain at any given time?

Please do yourselves and us viewers and society at large a favour and get off the air.

This show is insipid, straight up stupid and has no moral value either. It's not even entertaining or informative/educational. Not only do you shut off your brain to watch it I am 100% convinced that watching it has made me a less intelligent person. I give it 2 out of 10 because I don't mind the host, I like that he's not so over the top as most game show hosts out there. This show isn't funny and I just feel sick watching these people give their answers, knowing exactly what they will say because it's the same joke answers I would have given in high school.

"Bum, poop, fart, sex, boobs, hooker, prostitute, b-j's, gang bang, orgy, orgasm, stripper, underpants....." if that is your idea of quality TV programming, this is the show for you. If you have any self respect at all run don't walk to any other channel.

Shame on the Comedy Network. Your other programming is not much better if it's any better at all.

Meet the Family (2013– )
9/10
Funny but Cruel
28 January 2014
I can't help but feel for these guys on this show. They come to this house to meet their girlfriend's family for the first time and from the moment they arrive they end up getting tortured going from one situation and one crazy family member to the next. It is very cruel because these guys obviously are on their best behaviour and willing to put up with pretty much anything to get on the good side of their girl's family. I admit I laugh and a lot of it is funny but it is also sometimes kind of cruel for instance in at least one show they convince the guy that grandma died while he was alone in the room watching her and make him feel guilty about it. Best thing on City TV for the time being but sad to say that isn't saying much.

Dark City (1998)
10/10
Brilliant Dark Scifi
28 January 2014
This might be my favourite movie of all time and it is for sure my all time favourite science fiction movie. Remember too that this is coming from a dedicated Trekkie (yes I am fine with the term Trekkie and don't get why Trekkers get all bent out of shape) but Dark City goes to a level that no science fiction program or movie has ever gone to before in my mind. It maybe even approaches the level of the greatest science fiction writing in my opinion of all time which is Dune. The movie is incredibly dark and brooding with fantastic performances from all of the leads. It is incredibly mysterious and creates a mood unlike any other movie I have seen in my life and I loved literally not knowing what was going on or what was going to happen right up until the end. I can't believe this movie isn't more popular because it is absolutely stunning!
