The Outfit (2022)
10/10
Master Class in acting by Mark Rylance.
2 April 2022
I knew it was going to be good, Mr. Rylance would not attach his name to just anything.

Mark Rylance was playing chess while the rest of cast tried to keep up. Every scene he was in he dominated the screen & the simple but elegant set.

I want to see it again just to see what I might have missed the first time.

Movie that didn't need to be made.

I wasn't excited to see this movie, but thought it might be good. NOPE It was a watered down long boring episode of the Sopranos.

Nothing of any consequence was told or shown.

Waste of time.

Detectorists (2014–2022)

Breathe of fresh air.
8 May 2021
I recently "discovered" The Detectorists & I love it. It's hard finding something new & engaging to watch during this nightmare called Covid. I have rewatched so many great series, but was looking for something new. Mackenzie Crook created some really interesting & quirky characters. I feel like I could know these people. They are real people which is always better.

My only complaint is I want more.

Cobra Kai: No Mercy (2019)
Season 2, Episode 10

What a horrible way to end the season.
12 September 2020
The buildup to the last episode is ridiculous. Over acting, lazy plot & weak writing.

No school would ever allow a fight like this to get that out of hand.

Wasn't sure how good this was going to be I really like English comedy and this fish out of water story is worth the watch.

Looking forward to more Ted Lasso.

So f$#&ING good.

I was really hesitant to give this movie a chance, but after watching Quarry, I knew I had to give this a chance. So happy I took a chance. I wish big studios would take more chances with great indie director/writers. We need more movies like this.

15 minutes I will never get back
24 October 2019
How does a director fail so miserably when they have great source material and a not bad cast?

This was a hot mess right from the start. The trailer was the only interesting part of the movie.

I want my 15 minutes back.

Horrible just horrible

There isn't one redeemable character in this show. The main character & her useless friends & family are annoying caricatures of self entitled millennials. The trailer sucks you in, but 10 minutes into the 1st episode I stopped watching immediately.

The Grizzlies (2018)

Emotional Rollercoaster is my description of this amazing Canadian epic.
2 May 2019
I have never cried & laughed so much in a movie before, it was so overwhelming from the start to the finish. The casting was perfect, the cinematography was breathtaking & the direction was inspiring. This movie should be made mandatory in schools across Canada.

I grew up in Southern Saskatchewan, my hometown For Qu'Appelle is surrounded by multiple First Nation reserves, as well as a very large Metis population, which I am very proud to be a part of. So I understand a lot of what First Nations people endure, but I never really knew what these strong people endured in the far north of our beautiful country. This amazing movie was educational and emotional to me. I would like to thank the amazing cast & crew for sharing the story of The Grizzlies with the world.

Rollercoaster of emotions.

I have a love/hate relationship with Ricky Gervais. I truly love his talent for writing REAL people and how they get along with others. He has the amazing talent to show the good/bad and human side of his characters. It never feels like I am watching some 'merican sitcom with a laugh track.

I laughed and cried in the same episode and felt his pain/hate and his compassion/love in the limited time of each episode and it only made me want for more.
