Hell Fest (2018)
7/10
A great throwback slasher
4 October 2018
When I saw the trailer it immediately reminded me of a throwback to the 70s 80s slasher films of before with a new age twist and my impressions were correct.

The story revolves around a group friends attending a huge event called hellfest on Halloween. A serial killer who has killed before at hellfest returns and targets them slowly stalking and killing his way towards his prey.

Its not super original but again its more of a simplistic throwback like Halloween (1978)

By far the best actor in the movie is Bex Taylor Klaus she carries this movie with her energy and solid acting chops. Tony Todd is reliable as always. I thought Christian James did a good job as well. The cast has some qwerky dialogue which is a nice touch helps the characters feel more realistic but they re under developed and more simple like again in friday the 13th or halloween.

The film starts a bit rough after the intro but gets its bearings and becomes stronger as it intensifies and by the end its on point. The color palette is very Argentoesque and the environment is great. While it does have pop up scares its expected with the haunted rides and houses.

The very end of the film is ok. It should have stopped 2 mins before it did and it would ve been better but I understand what they were going for.

While other critics may crap on this movie like Chris Stuckmann did I think its misplaced or they came in with expectations that were far too high for this horror film. Im a huge film buff and horror fan and I think overall this film knew what it was and didnt try to be anything different.

Its a solid film and for those expecting a fun ride enjoy hellfest. For those expecting a citizen kane or exorcist level horror film probably skip this one

If this film was a porno it might be good
5 November 2013
This is probably the worst film ever it so moronic and lame I would rather have gotten humbled by the iron sheik and still make a more productive use of my time than watching this movie.

The Story- a girl who has a killer vagina and a creepy sex pervert brother. (Wow great Idea) The Acting - is so horrible I have seen better acting in an epileptic whorehouse than this movie. The main actress is horrifyingly bad most of these actors could be replaced by porn stars and midgets and have it be better than the scummy acting we got.

The Directing- The only redeemable thing is the film is shot properly but what kind of director would really want this on their resume with this B.S. premise and preposterousity.

The Ending - Ridiculous and dumb enough said

The Entertainment Value - Non Existent Final Thoughts - Probably would've made a better porno than a feature film with a wasted budget.

Lot's of potential but sadly ruined at the end
20 January 2009
I really got into this movie and watched, totally engrossed in the movie the movie hits its peak and then the ending is implausible and well plain stupid. The movie could have gone where few movies went before and explored further down the genre but it turns and the ending really hurts the film. Samuel Jackson is on his game in this film and I found myself on his side the time through the film. the neighbors can really get annoying and you probably won't feel any sympathy for them but when they start getting to one another its really good. Had the ending been better I would have given it a 7.5 or even an 8 but like very cheap electronic it knocks itself out of commission.

The Fog (2005)

Garbage
12 May 2008
When I saw the trailer for this movie I had been not even close to being optimistic that this film would even come close to the original movie. John Carpenter created a masterpiece that maybe was not the best but a good film indeed. However this remake destroys every great quality of the original and tries to be a typical slasher but that is not even the worst of it. When I watched the behind the scenes look it appeared to me that director wanted to film a romantic side of the fog. He even says that he wanted to really tell Elizabeth's story, If he wants to film a romantic ghost ripoff go take a hike and make your own movie. This piece of garbage is worse than Bloodrayne a rivals Uwe Boll for the worst director of all time.

The story is that on the 100th anniversary of Antonio Bay Ghosts come back for revenge on the descendants of the people that killed them or at least that was the or at least that was the original story now it flipped upside down and regurgitated Only Tom Welling and DeRay Davis are any good in the acting category. A crucial mistake was putting Fallout Boy's music in the movie and Selma Blair as Stevie Wayne to sum it up it was a piece of crap no one should ever see

Better Than I Expected
26 May 2007
Initially I set my standards pretty low after I had heard that this movie really sucked but It surpassed my expectations. The story is about a killer great white shark who comes back to amity in the winter and kills one of the Brody sons at the very start of the movie. Then when the rest of family goes to the Bahamas, the shark hell bent on revenge follows them and tries to kill them all. This movie would have been definitely if Roy Scheider was in it like Jaws 1& 2 but the movie redeems it self itself with some very good acting from Lance Guest and Judith Barsi(RIP) and from some very great scenes with the shark that are unforgettable. This movie passed my expectations plus it had a menacing score which I personally like more than the original's score. It works but a few areas could be better like the ending but all in all Go and See It. It 's most definitely better than the 3rd.

A really well made, acted and a fantastic story
5 October 2006
I really like this movie because it is well written, well directed and Paul Anderson chose great actors to portray the the commandos. Michelle Rodriguez, Milla Jovovich, Colin Salmon are definitely the better out of all the other actors. The zombies are not put in your face at the beginning and there is a cause for the infection unlike the night of the living dead movies and also unlike the night of the living dead movies the zombies are less like the stereotypical zombie. The story is easy to get into. Although most of it is not based on the games as far as i'm concerned this was a great movie. Paul Anderson is a genius for writing and directing this movie. Acting 8/10. Story 9.5/10. Directing 10/10. This movie is still scary and it is most definitely better than its sequel.

Good choices for actors but not well directed
5 October 2006
I pick a three out of ten but i'm being generous here. This guy Uwe Boll had Kristanna Loken, Michael Madsen & Michelle Rodriguez and the movie still sucks. I was expecting this movie to be bad but the second half of the movie just fell apart. The things that I found terrible with this movie are ending, the beginning and the control the director is supposed have was not present when i watched this movie. I recommend that you do not waste your money watching this movie when there are better ones. I also watched another Uwe Boll movie and the same lack of using and control were also not present. I really think this movie deserves a one but since it was entertaining for about 5 minutes I'll give it a 3.
