This movie respects the late great Chadwick Boseman amazingly. From the opening scene it gives you gut wrenching performances from the actors that feel real pain from his loss. We lost an icon when we lost Chadwick Boseman and they did him justice.

Shuri (Letita Wright) owns her role in this movie. She has raw and powerful emotions that come to us when we lose people. Namor is pretty cool. This plot suffered a bit imo from predictable twists toward the end. The action is great throughout the movie but the final fight was just okay. Overall a great movie and one of my favorites from Phase 4 of the MCU.

Wow, incredible start to the movie. They respected the great late Chadwick Boseman well in this movie. The acting of his loss in the movie hit very hard because you know those actors were feeling real pain. We lost an icon in Chadwick Boseman and they did not try to beat around the bush but honored his life.

Shuri (Letitia Wright) in this movie takes over. She owns the role and has raw and powerful emotion. The overall plot was overshadowed by the respect being shown and I believe it suffered a tad bit. It was rather predictable a lot of the time which is why it's not higher for me. The action was great throughout but did not love how the final fight scene ended. This movie is a much watch imo!!

Enola Holmes 2 (2022)

Loved Millie, 6.4

This is a movie I really enjoyed. Millie Bobby Brown is a great at playing the role of Enola Holmes. The twists are fun. It feels like a Sherlock Holmes thriller that it should be with the plot twists and shocking realizations. It's a movie you can watch with family. However, the first installment of this series is superior.

The reason I am rating it at a six and not higher is because Sherlock Holmes movies and shows have a high standard. With Robert Downey Jr.'s version as well as Benedict Cumberbatch's being the better than the Henry Caville version we get here. It is obviously better than Will Ferrell's version.

I do recommend!

Black Adam (2022)

Pleasantly surprised, 7.4 for me

I thought this movie was pretty great. Dwayne Johnson seems like a superhero and in this movie it feels right. The twists were mid but the action was a step up from other DCEU movies. I can't wait to see how they move on from this movie. It gave us some fun cameos and callbacks if you know what to look for.

A couple downfalls were the random zombies and unrealistic reactions from characters. One more criticism is there was one to many slow mo scenes. My wife says she "wishes they explained the superhero's more that they introduced. They were just thrown in."

Overall it's a great movie to go see in theaters and definitely recommend!

Hustle (2022)

A 7.4, Great Sports Movie

This movie has a star studded cast of people, mostly nba stars, playing themselves. It made it really cool. The story makes you want to root for the main character the whole time. It's a really great Adam Sandler film that's not a comedy but still has the Adam Sandler charm.

Jurassic World Dominion (2022)

6.3 Good Action, eventually

This movie took awhile to get going. They were doing so much building of the plot it felt like it was never gonna start. Once it got going and this dinosaur movie had some good dinosaur action, it was pretty enjoyable.

It is a long line of pretty good movies that I'm glad we are getting, but that's all they are, pretty good, not great.

Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)

6.8 .. Good, but tried really hard to be funny

Christian Bale saved this film from being a total flop in my mind. I liked it as a movie but, as an MCU movie I have a higher standard. I expected more. It reminds me a lot of the new suicide squad in that it pushed to have a joke every frame. All the acting was pretty good, just the lines and the story was not quite to the standard set IMO.

Another thing I want to point out was that some scenes are visually stunning with the color patterns. All in all it's a pretty funny, average movie.

Elvis (2022)

Did not disappoint!

Elvis Presley songs just give you goosebumps, and that is tenfold in a movie theater. This movie gives you vocal belts that you came for while telling a story that you want to follow and remember! Tom Hanks and Austin Butler played their roles really well. All in all, movie does not disappoint!! I give it a 7.8

The movie is quite long but it's telling a life story so you gotta look past that. Some parts seem too dramatized and some parts don't seem dramatized enough. Those are my only criticisms for this fantastic movie.

Lightyear (2022)

Solid 6.5, A miss for Pixar

This movie was fun but didn't live up to the incredible standard set by Pixar. I had some good laughs throughout and they introduced some lovable characters which is fun!

A lot of moping around "woe is me" attitude in the story which is annoying imo. I did enjoy the story, however, and visuals were there. Twists were pretty predictable, but had some redeeming qualities. Overall, just solid, not great, not bad.

Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)

It's a lot of fun

This movie had good, unexpected funny parts to it. It is like Roger rabbit for 2022. There is cross franchising from other studios which caught me off guard. If you grew up with rescue rangers on VHS, this does it good justice while being it's own thing at the same time.

Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

One of the coolest action movies I've ever seen!

This movie is action at its finest. The way they explain that the actors are feeling what it's really like to be in a fighter jet really adds to the movie. The love interest is weird in the movie and the punchlines and call backs seem forced. However, those are my only criticism toward this movie. This is a much watch in theaters! It won't be the same at home but it gets your heart racing and it's just a really fun ride.

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

Classic DC Movie of this era of DC

Super unrealistic action scenes like Superman's vs Batman, Shazam, Aquaman, Suicide Squad, etc... It tracks. Story was hard to follow as well however, the acting by Gal Gadot and Pedro Pascal did not upset, just the writing and the story itself. The only DC movie I'd watch from this era a second time would be the first Wonder Woman. Pretty pitiful.
