He Got Game (1998)
2/10
Out of place
6 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I was hoping for a mediocre piece of cinema about basketball and I got one of the worst films I have watched so far... Camera work that will make you dizzy, for at least the first 40 minutes of the film, a soundtrack that ends up making you die of laughter at times (Jesus-which a bizarre name for a protagonist to begin with and Lala break up while "inspiring violin" music is playing on the background. How was that scene inspiring? They straight up told each other they've been sleeping with other people... and basically call-naming one another? Who decided to go for the inspiring violin?

A film so full of storylines that are unnecessary, and most importantly a plot that makes no sense!

A young kid who witnesses his mother get accidentally killed by his father, all due to his father's obsession with basketball and his trying to toughen said kid up to become the best player, and ends up pushing his mother to her death while arguing with his son? The same kid who witnessed THAT decides to BECOME a basketball player as if this wasn't traumatic enough? Yet another unbelievable piece of dialogue where the young protagonist tells his gf his mother would have never wanted him to get it on with a white girl? His WHITE mother who married a black man would actually tell him that? I find everything about this movie sloppy, out of place, pointless and straight up ridiculous. It could never work as a decent film... I find it really hard to believe that it acquired the rating it has right now 2/10 for me, an utter waste of time. Had a good laugh tho.

Hope Springs (2003)

One of the Worst RomComs to Exist
11 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Boring beyond compare, slept twice through it. One of the cheesiest most impressively pointless romcoms to exist. Charmless, humourless, tasteless, cringey, hollow and painstakingly absurd from beginning to end. Who takes their clothes off to a stranger while dancing to woo them, who lies about getting married to someone else, who proposes that soon?. The romance isn't there, the character lack depth, motive. It doesn't move, make you laugh nor make you think. This movie even fails as to providing a pleasant time watching it. Things just seem to happen in the movie without reason or any artistic value. I'm not sure how this movie got produced... Its rating should be even lower, that's why I'm giving it a 2/10. If you wanna watch a romcom, just choose another, it really doesn't matter which one, 'cause it will definitely be better than this.

Pretty Little Liars: Game Over, Charles (2015)
Season 6, Episode 10
3/10
Poor Writing At Its Finest!
14 August 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I have been a true and loyal Pretty Little Liars fan for many years now... I have not made fun of story lines including a singing bird, Ezra being a writer and Toby becoming a cop. But this "finale" to the huge story arc that is "Who the f**k is A" is at least laughable! Not only is it written so badly that things happening in the same episode don't have continuity, (for Wilden had to be a twelve-year old pretending to be a corrupt police officer in order to "take care" of Toby's mother "suicide"), but it also shows how little respect the writers have for us the fans! Damn, has that woman ever seen the show she's writing? For a show that has "clues" and things you have to look out for, I believe that the writers were the ones that paid no attention whatsoever! CeCe being A was unexpected... Why? Because it was so ridiculously made-believe that no fan could ever predict the stupidity out of it! For God's sake, I have read A theories on "Tumblr" that not only were better written, but they were actually trying to make sense out of-you-know things that have actually happened? I imagine the writers being like, "Yeah, why not? It's not like they will remember that"; well, guess again! Mona supposedly was the one that helped Ali leave Rosewood and NOW you're telling me that first she hit her with a shovel? Like, totally chill, "Oh guess I didn't get her, so let's offer her a ride with my car". The mistakes just go on and on, and you will probably have already read them. Nonetheless, I will also point this out, the show made Sara Harvey a character so flat and uninteresting two major role mysteries? Seriously, I have never been that frustrated over a series ending! (Well maybe that one time with "HIMYM", but anyway), and on top of that you are promising "sweet Emison moments", you are making a fool out of "Emison"'s fans! I have never seen "Spoby" or "Ezria" or "Haleb" treated like that! "Emison" is supposed to be a ship, well for starters it does not even exist! They kissed once and then nothing, and all they did was promise something only in social media to keep the "Emison" fanatics keep hoping... To sum up, no respect for the fans who have been extremely loyal, despite all the bullshit you have put us through, ridiculous attempt to make the "CeCe being A makes sense since season 3", poor writing, lack of continuity. Left me completely uninterested to care for the also stupid time jump... 3/10, because you SUCK!

Disappointing.
15 February 2015
First of all, I gave this film a rating of 4/10 and this is not because I'm the typical male viewer who despises this film just because it's a chick's film and I'm not your typical female viewer who hates this film because well, let's face it, it sucks... I actually gave it such a low rating because having read the book, and even though I wasn't such a big fan of the series; I mean the reason I started reading was out of curiosity... Anyway, I didn't like the book, I don't hate it, but then again I don't love it either... But, if the book was kinda annoying then this film is the epitome of boring! Why such a fuss when the sex scenes aren't that shocking, the acting is below average and the plot, well... Everything happens way too fast and from my point of view, it does get boring. Not an amusing film... Personally, I would recommend this to people who are just curious to see what this is about, (definetely not to its books fans) and to any dump couple who wants to play naughty. 4/10 Please don't waste your time.

Disappointing and extremely overrated!
27 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The other day I went to the cinema extremely excited for this film. I've always been the super-hero-comic fan; I love watching Batman, Spiderman and the X-Men, so you can understand that I went to see this film with a positive attitude. Having said that, not only did it not live up to my high expectations, but it achieved to bore me to the point I wanted to leave the cinema while constantly checking my clock to see how much time was left for this complete and utter crap of cinematography!

The plot was cheap, that is, if you do insist that it had one, because really it didn't, and if you at least tried to follow the nonexistent story, you just couldn't! It tried way too hard to be touching and it tried even harder to be funny. The "bad guys" were laughable and the "good ones" were annoying! And how come it has a rating of 8.6, is beyond me! If I wanted to be polite I would say it is average, dull, ridiculous and way too overrated, but I want to be honest so I'll just say, that it is one of the worst films I've seen in a long time!

Cheap action, cheesy to the core and lame as it can get. A complete waste of time and so very disappointing if you are a Marvel fan like myself. Save yourself if you like decent films with a story-line and watch something that isn't so cringe-worthy.

Will Probably Leave You Speechless And Confused And From My Point Of View, It Requieres A Second Watching.
2 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, I've just finished watching this movie for the second time after I watched it two days ago for the first time. I have to be honest, when I watched it completely the first time, I seriously felt challenged; because I couldn't understand a thing! I really wasn't able to fully conceive what I had just saw... Maybe it is just me, although this second time I watched it with a friend and she was as lost as I was the fist time I saw it. So to make myself understood, I absolutely think that in order to make sense out of this film, you either have to watch it again very carefully, or maybe if you are some kind of a genius and you're really concentrated, you might catch it with the first try... Well, in my case, I just read all about it and after that I couldn't stop thinking about this film! After I had all the pieces of this confusing, yet enjoyable puzzle together and of course having watched it once before, I was able now; with my second viewing to truly appreciate this masterpiece as a whole! From where I stand, yes, I find this film quite difficult to comprehend with only one viewing, so I believe it is essential to watch it again!

Not only did I picked up all the elements that the director leaves, even from the beginning, for us to see, but I have made out some of my own theories and also have a better understanding of the characters' actions; especially Diane's. Diane is such a complex character and the more you think of her and the things she's been through, you acquire a much better understanding of what is going on, after the illusion starts to spring. This movie is indeed like a puzzle, begging to be solved, and once it is solved, you just love it and everything is so much easier! Mulholland Drive is such a challenge and it is just so worth it; there aren't that many films that give us the chance to analyse endlessly the scenes and the actions and the emotions behind each character and that is why, I now consider this film to be one of my personal favorites. Another thing that I find stunning about Mulholland Dr., is that it just shows us how much we can unravel, just from a person's subconscious and in this case Diane's'; even though almost the whole film consists of her somewhat of an illusion/dream, we feel as though we know her, we know how she feels, we know that she didn't want to end up like this, we see the person she truly wanted to be, her ideal self, we get why she was driven mad! I believe that her dream self Betty is a hidden part of her, a part of her that she could have been... It is tragic, it is beautiful, it is haunting, it is confusing and yet in the end it all makes sense. 10/10, and mark my words, after you watch it, read about the "secret elements" and give it another go. Beware, for it is not an "easy" film, for one to just pass some time, it requires concentration.

Angel: A Hole in the World (2004)
Season 5, Episode 15
10/10
I Hate Where This Is Going.
3 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, first of all, am I the only one that finds this EXTREMELY SIMILAR to the Jasmine arc?! Old power takes over Cordy's body and leaves her in the end in a comatose state and then well, dead. And now old stupid power inflicts poor Fred and kills her?! Come on people! And only after what? Two-three bloody episodes after Cordelia's end?! Give us a break! Okay let's make a good episode, then an episode which will leaves us smiling, oh I see we got a little happy after "You're Welcome" hmm, who's a loving character who finally got together with the man she should be with from the very start? Ah yes, sweet Winifred! So why don't we just kill this one this time? (You can really understand sarcasm is high on this one...) And of course, I've given this a 10/10, because well, it is truly a well-written episode and has so many great touching scenes and marvellous acting too, but frankly, I'm quite disappointed... For once more we have to say goodbye to a wonderful, loving character, who has gone through so much, hey, don't get me wrong, the poor girl was in an another dimension for five years! As I state on the summary, I really don't like where this is going and I know we can't really ever expect "happy endings", but why so harsh Joss? Goodbye to yet another amazing character, seems like Angel is losing its female cast one by one...

Angel: You're Welcome (2004)
Season 5, Episode 12
10/10
Classic Joss, Wonderful Episode.
2 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I never thought I would say this when I first started Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but I will really miss Cordelia! When we first see her, she's a hollow bitch who really gets on your nerves! But, over the years and especially when you actually see her on Angel, she does have one of the most significant character development. I did grow to like her and I wish she would end up with Angel, who am I kidding? By the end of Season 1 of Angel, she was actually my favorite... Of course, Joss Whedon; he just never wants to give us a bloody happily ever after ending, damn! I mean yeah, I've read the spoilers Cordy never wakes up from the coma, but still, I was hoping for something else, I just want it for once to be happy, but I guess, that's just not Joss Whedon's style! Another thing that I find really amazing is the fact that, even thought "Cordelia" is on Season 4 of Angel, well at least kinda, you get to feel how she has been absent, when you see her in this episode and I did felt it completely; how we haven't really seen our dear Cordy for a long long time... And it's so sad, how she says her final goodbyes and gets to help the Angel Team just for one last time, everybody hugging her, even Harmony, her interest of Connor and where he is and of course her apology to Wesley, even thought it wasn't really her fault. One of the best episodes, an extremely touching one, it will definitely leave you crying... A very cruel end to a loving character, but even thought the bitter feeling it leaves you with, at least we get somewhat of a closure, considering the fact that I absolutely hated what stupid Jasmine made her go through in the previous season... Yes, I'm not a big fan of the whole Jasmine and Evil Cordy arc. Rest In Peace Cordelia Chase I really loved you and you will be missed... 10/10 and now, I'm gonna cry myself to sleep, thanks, Joss.

Faking It (2014–2016)
10/10
Surprised Me Pleasantly In The End (First Impression From The Pilot).
24 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
When I first heard about this show I thought that it would be highly offensive and a bit ridiculous, having watched it I must admit that they were some sexist moments like when one of the girls stated that "guys love lesbians" and "watch some porn", but then again, some people honestly believe things like these, and I have to admit I've heard a lot of people in High School saying things pretty close to these. The whole being queer is cool sounded very stupid, and to say the least, ironic, when gay people get rejected and bullied just because of their sexuality. The world might have become more accepting, but then again to be a homosexual in High School doesn't seem like such fun. Anyway, as you probably know there are two girls, who are best friends and they desperately want to fit in and become popular, well at least one of them, blah-blah, they are mistakenly taken as a couple and all of a sudden everybody knows them, admires and worships them. It may seem like a silly teen drama, but if you really think about it people nowadays do tend to start being all accepting to show how open- minded they are... I know it sounds stupid, but if you watch this with a touch of humor and decide to look into it in a positive manner I don't think it'll leave you that disappointed in the end... After all, there is an obvious little twist which I'm sure will make things a bit more interesting.

Angel: I Will Remember You (1999)
Season 1, Episode 8
10/10
Heartbreaking, Once Again Joss Leaves Us All Speechless...
2 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Having watched this episode you are left sobbing and thinking "I would have been better off not knowing what they've been missing" and I really did end up sad, because now we know what these guys could have had! This episode was so beautiful, I can't help but cry. All those tender scenes between Buffy and Angel leave you with a big grin on your face and I was truly, so happy to see them like that, I really wish that they'd stayed that way forever, silly me! It's so easy for Joss to create such a wonderful image and take it back the next minute, he'd done so, frankly too many times... The end for me was devastating, Buffy screaming while crying "I'll never forget, I'll never forget" how romantically tragic it is that Angel gives a lifetime of happiness for her and to quote Rupert, "it's rather poetic"! One of the best and I promise "I'll never forget"... Leaves you down in the dumps and makes you adore Angel all over again... Truly amazing, tragic and romantic 10/10 without a question!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Bad Girls (1999)
Season 3, Episode 14
10/10
Great, Dark Episode.
6 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
"Bad Girls" is about the great bad influence that Faith has on Buffy. She tells her about how good she feels when she's killing vampires and how she's always craving for more and Buffy pretty much agrees with her. Buffy leaves her Chemistry test, which we've heard so much about, because Faith comes opening the window all "girlfriend lets kill some vamps!" and the certain scene ends with both of them dancing all sweaty with a bunch of horny guys. Of course one could understand that Buffy's been acting so carelessly, due to the fact that the new watcher's in town, an awful coward I must add... It could be a way of rebellion, an act of disapproving and making a point to herself, she's the Slayer, she wants something? She gets it, according to "F". This episode also shows how much can someone be influenced by his peers, a great metaphor for teenagers who this show was meant for; Buffy starts acting carelessly, dumps her friends and her test, steals, flirts, gets arrested and as you can understand stops being her usual self. Anyway, from my point of view this episode really stresses how different is Buffy from Faith. When Faith kills that man, Buffy is devastated she knows that, that's not what they do, they're supposed to protect people from getting hurt… She wants to solve things out, talk about it, she does have respect for life, whereas Faith wants to act like it never happened, she's in complete denial, she doesn't give a damn says so herself "I don't care". I have to admit to this point that I've haven't finished the third season yet, but I understand that this episode will definitely play a major role to the plot. To sum up, it was a great episode and I must say that there was some serious heat between Buffy and Faith throughout the episode… Anyway, I think it will leave you with a bittersweet feeling. 10/10 without a doubt!

Amusing, Hilarious, One Of The Best Episodes Of Season 2!
1 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, is one of the best episodes of Buffy's Season 2. It's Valentine's Day and Cordelia couldn't pick a better time to break up with Xander due to the fact that her popular friends don't find him that cool. Anyway, Xander's left heartbroken and in a pathetic attempt to catch Cordelia's attention he asks help from his friend Amy (the cheerleader from S01E03) who seems to have gotten into witchcraft lately. The love spell they cast has somewhat of an opposite effect... Not Cordy, but every single other woman of Sunnydale WANTS Xander. The episode is so HILARIOUS! Everything about it is just awesome. Willow and Buffy getting sexy on Xander, the slow motion walk on the corridors, quotes like "Who died and made you Elvis?", Giles trying to keep Jenny away from Xander, Dru saving him from Angelus, even Buffy's mum wants him! I have to say this episode will surely make you laugh out loud. Funny, perfect, unexpected and original. A 10/10 for sure!

Skins: Fire: Part 2 (2013)
Season 7, Episode 2
5/10
Good Acting But Very Disappointing Endings.
15 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
From my point of view, Skins Season 7 was a total waste of time. First of all you've got Effy, she's now oh-so mature working, having her own place and of course, a roommate, Naomi. Naomi and Effy never were that close to now be roommates, Naomi was nothing like that and Effy didn't say a thing about Freddie. But, I guess having your boyfriend killed by your psychologist isn't that big of a deal. It's Effy's episode, so why on Earth should you get Naomily involved? The writers should be so ashamed of themselves. They only gave Naomi and Emily, what 6 minutes on screen, just to raise the viewings. It's so sad that they touched subjects like cancer and gave them so little importance. I'm very disappointed, I can't find a reason why would they bring Effy, Emily and Naomi just to destroy their stories. If you're a true fan of Skins please don't bother watching.
