Workout Challenge (1983 Video)

This tape is not for the beginner, or those who are weak or faint of heart!

CAUTION! This tape is not for the beginner, those who are weak or faint of heart! This Tape is very well named! CHALLENGE! WOW! I am very experienced with workout videos, and consider myself to be in pretty good shape, I usually do 2 sometimes 3 tape together in the morning, then (hips permitting) run 3-4 miles!

Jane made me work on this tape! My first clue should have been the warm-up! This was more than some tapes aerobic section! Then it went on to the Aerboic Section, The Upper body, the hips the thighs, The mid section.... & On & On it went. I could not find the tiny print on the box that said 90 minute workout, If I had, at least I would have know what I was getting myself in for! To make matters worse, Jane just kept teasing me, say we were almost there, just a little more, then take us into a whole new area! As I am doing each of the routines all on the right side, I become painfully aware, that very soon, everything we just did to the right side, will have to be done again on the left side. There were a couple places, I actually could not keep going & had to take a breather! I made it through though, & said WOW! What a workout!

So if your tiered of do nothing tapes, tried of worthless dancy steppy routines, are in great shape, & ready for a "CHALLENGE" this is your next tape!

The Ballet Workout (1987 Video)

I always feel a little prettier & more graceful after doing this workout.

The Ballet Workout: Shaping and Toning by Melissa Lowe. I was very excited to finally see this former Video, now released onto DVD. I am not a ballerina, nor do I ever expect to be... But I have always liked this workout, as it allows you to work certain muscles in ways and combinations that you do not normally work them. Its about as close as I will ever get to doing Ballet. I always feel a little prettier & more graceful after doing this workout. It is not hard, but perfection of the moves & attaining a body with graceful lines & fluid movements, is something to be achieved & strived for. I have many much more difficult workouts, I just enjoy this one. What I was truly hoping for, is that the DVD version would have been a better quality production, than the video tape I have had for years. Sadly it is not, & maybe worse! Almost as if it was made from a copy of a copy of a tape! I was hoping for clearer, brighter, & better sound, but was disappointed in the Re-Release of this workout. Still I like the workout, & recommend you try it, if you are interested in trying new things, (Even if you are not planing on becoming a Prima Ballerina.) 10 Stars From Brandy.Champagine

Complete Workout (1988 Video)

I really do like the first section!

Brandy's Leotard Rating for this Tape is 7.5 Leotards! FIRST SECTION I really like the first section, the upper body workout workout with light weights, & it gives a nice overall arm, shoulder, chest & back areas workout. But I wish it were a little longer. Her chest/bust exercises are effective one's, but not the most inspiring.& Still you can get a nice quick over all upper body routine out of this section.

SECOND SECTION As any of you who have read my Leotard Reviews before, know Brandy does Not like Dancing Workouts and Jane's Aerobic routine falls into that type of exercise for me! I must admit, this one is a little more fun to me than most

I do not think you need a Masters In Dance Movements, to follow it or at least not feel like a complete idiot with two left feet! Well, maybe I am the only one who feels like that! But Thank-Goddess, No one is up at 5:00 AM to see me do this dancing stuff except the dog!

THIRD SECTION This section is for working the lower section, hips thighs, legs, stomach, etc. It to seems very good, but could be a little longer for my liking. What I really wish, was that Jane had made this tape with the Upper Body workout & the Lower Body workout together. Then those of us who wanted to just workout could do so, while those of you who wanted to do the Dancey Steppy Routines could dance your hearts out! To be fair I did like her western Dance part & her Irish Dance part. This is a good tape to have in a collection. I think we all need a variety of tapes, to keep us motivated & not bored! Guess that's why I have 7-8 boxes of tapes to go through now, Thank you, Brandy.Champagine

My personal favorite of all the pregnancy tapes

Personally, I think you can not beat Kathy Smith for her dedication to making great Exercise Video Tapes! She puts a lot into hers, Great Information & help with proper form & movement. Very well planned out. Very good music background sound.

This is a great tape. A real, Leotard Soaker!

This is a real workout girls! I have to admit that when Cindy was doing the talk show tours about this tape, I figured isn't she already doing enough? Do we really need another Super Models opinion of how to get into shape! I was wrong! This is a great tape. A real, Leotard Soaker! Even her little 10 minute exercise workout is great. I only wish it were put at the front of the tape, instead of the end!

This workout will work every part of the body. The very fast paced cinematography is great! In one minute Cindy is working out in a "dingy old building" then suddenly she is standing high on some rooftop in a big City.... Flash, she is all alone one beautiful Beach exercising. The music is great & inspiring, The fast paced cutting edge format & shooting of photography keeps you interested. The picture changes to different formats. Like Black & White, Sepia tones, high key graphics with grain, to almost Technicolor picture scenes all the while, the great inspiring music pulls you forward. This is truly one of my favorite tapes! My Appoligies Cindy, You did a great job!

Great Workout! Jane at her best!!!

BRANDY'S LEOTARD RATING FOR THIS TAPE IS 10+++ leotards! Personally, I think this was Jane Fondas Best Tape! Jane Fonda is the one who started me using video Exercise Tapes as well as the industry. She put a lot into this first workout, as she did with her next two tapes, New Workout & then Challenge! This is the tape that started the whole Video Tape workout industry! I wonder if Jane had any idea of the mega industry she was creating?

I kind of thought Jane felt we were all ex-dancers or gymnasts, and that we were in better shape than a lot of us may have been! I really learned how great of shape Jane was in! She was almost a double jointed and very flexibly! This is a challenging Tape! There is no Stupid Dancy Steppy Crap here, that all came later thankfully! Excellent Excellent Excellent! Great music, a great tape to add to your collection. A true collectors item as well still selling regularly on Ebay from $20.00 -35.00!! I really like this tape as I do Jane's other early tapes including her pregnancy tape. Try it and enjoy. Brandy, Fitness Instructress.
