BIG FAT FBI AGENT?
15 February 2021
Why in the world cast that big fat man as an FBI agent? Wouldn't happen.

Not bad
25 April 2020
The most disappointing thing about this film is the theme song. Not up to the others. They hit a new low with Britt Ekland as the Bond girl. She gives a new meaning to the expression Dumb Blonde. A complete idiot. Stunts are good and seeing those old AMC cars was fun. Some comic relief but a little over the top.

Pretty Good Bond Movie
23 April 2020
Of the Roger Moore Bond movies this is still one of my favorites. The plot can be a little difficult, being filled with a lot of sleight of hand. I do get a charge out of the really bad perms on Miska and Griska. I had one that bad in the 80's too. Kristine Wayburn did nothing in the film except look like an expensive model. But, that too was typical for the 80's. She is constantly licking her lips and maneuvering them as if she were preparing for the next shot. And that hairstyle! What's that about? Way too much forehead. And, typical of a dumb model, she does have the dumbest line in the movie. While she has an atomic bomb about to go off literally under her feet she turns to Maud Adams and says, "He'll destroy the whole operation. "What did she think the atomic bomb would do?

Problems
19 March 2020
Very enjoyable but their continuity is a problem. Why at the end of the 1st Season do Murdoch and Julia look so much older and different, the Inspector is obviously a different actor and Julia and Murdoch are married and have lost a baby? But, at the beginning of the 2nd season everything is going on as all that had never happened. Julia and Murdoch look as young as they had, the Inspector is as he had been and Murdoch and Julia weren't even dating yet. It is all very confusing.

Pretty Bad
16 March 2020
Capturing the cleverness and all of the many facets of one of the books must be almost impossible and this is yet another case of it not coming off. I love the Fox brothers in almost everything they have done and Julia McKenzie is great as always. The George Lomax character gives me shivers. Right out of Dickens. Having that person touch you must be like the brush of Death. How could that lovely girl even think once about the prospect of marriage to that ghoul. Just a terrible person.

MALCOLM MCDOWELL STILL SUCKS
6 June 2019
I have enjoyed all the CSI- Miami shows. But, not Malcolm. Years ago he was in an X rated flick called Caligula and he sucked. It's nice to see his acting hasn't gotten any better with the years. He still sucks.

Some problems
24 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Very good performance by Edw Fox and it is one of last good episodes before the show became so "politically correct" but here is a huge problem. Barnaby tells the two young people that it would be fine if they were married but the boy is the product of the union of a brother and a sister AND they are really 1st cousins. Wouldn't want to see their children.

Poirot: Murder on the Orient Express (2010)

Okay,but not quite there.
17 January 2019
I like the Finney version much better. In this one Poirot is a hard, dark character, unlike who he was in much of the series. I sure don't like that side of him. Many of the other characterizations are very bad. Barbara Hershey is awful but the worst is the Miss Ohlssen. character. She doesn't look right and can't seem to settle on a character. She vacillates between an American woman and some sort of foreigner but certainly not Swedish and What's with That Hair? And, her religion is...What? She has a real dislike for Catholicism yet she wears and slobbers over a Catholic medal she wears. I don't get it. The Princess is good, her maid is okay as were many of he others. It's well done and okay for a TV series but that's about all..

Lots of Talent
27 November 2004
This is one of my all-time favorites. I recorded it off the TV in Milw. years ago-my copy is fading now. It would be great to have it on DVD or at least VHS. Lots of great talent and a wonderful collection of Miss Frohman's songs-sung by her. A excellent job by Susaan Hayward. The roller coaster of pain and relief must have been difficult and she did a fine job. The irrasible Thelma Ritter IS Thelma Ritter. Her speech to Frohman(ass-kicking) brought tears to my eyes again. Rory Calhoun was a little stiff but barely noticeable. And, please don't overlook the set design and choreography. Wonderful.David Wayne was always a favorite and seeing a very handsome and real young Robert Wagner is always fun. I'm afraid that this movie might also be lost if it isn't reproduced.
