Greatest 2D Platformer of all time
18 April 2021
The pinnacle of 2D platformers and still unmatched in level design. I've never seen a game that has 56 completely unique levels with individual concepts. It's quite amazing the variety in Yoshi's Island. I'm amazed when it's not mentioned on a list or discussion of games that hold up well still today, Yoshi's Island should be THE standard answer. It's gorgeous art style, catchy music, plus brilliant controls & physics make it an absolute delight to play through from start to finish. My personal favourite game of all time!

WandaVision (2021)

Blown Away
8 March 2021
Finally watched WandaVision, I've been waiting for the whole thing to come out so I could watch it as a whole. Absolutely loved it. So much better than it had any right to be. I had high expectations and it still beat those, it was so cleverly written. There's literally 20+ things in every episode that has a reference or hidden meaning. I still can't believe how much they crammed in to 9 episodes. I think it's up there with the best of the MCU, maybe even the best season of a superhero tv show I have ever seen.

Astro's Playroom (2020 Video Game)

What a brilliant game!

A platformer that meets the level of Mario Odyssey.... except it's about one tenth the length. But it comes free with the console so hard not to give it a 10/10. Incredible amount of ideas crammed in to one short game. Gorgeous presentation and astro feels amazing to control. Hopefully they release a fully fledged sequel!

Boardwalk Empire: Boardwalk Empire (2010)

Brilliant
16 April 2020
Finally started Boardwalk Empire. I'm hooked after the first episode. As a huge gangster film/tv fan this speaks to me perfectly. The episode has a who's who of Prohibition era gangsters so It helped following characters of the bat. Scorsese is my favourite director of all time and again he doesn't disappoint. There are some weird cuts and edits which someone mentioned in an earlier review but other than that, one of the best pilots I have ever seen. Can't wait to see if the remainder holds up to this quality! 👍👍
