Horizon Line (2020)
On the edge of my seat!
I don't know why everyone is slamming this. I found it gripping! I'm a fan of Alexander Dreymon so I loved it! Definitely a suspenseful thriller!
There are definitely parts where you have to suspend disbelief but I was in that plane with them, trying to figure out how to survive. And the whole time I just kept thinking of how easy it is to disappear in a plane a la Amelia Earhart or Malaysia Airlines flight 370. I'm terrified of heights and deeps water so this had everything to really ramp up the anxiety and movie watching experience. I'm glad I didn't let the bad reviews deter me! If you think the premise sounds interesting trust me you won't be disappointed.
It Follows (2014)
You don't have to spend $to be scary
This low budget film did an amazing job at being genuinely unsettling and creepy. It was a nice change from the horror films of late that are predictable and boring. Highly recommend!!!
Midnight in the Switchgrass (2021)
Poorly written and filmed.
The story idea wasn't a bad one. But overall it was lacklustre at best. In the end you could see the harness Megan was hanging from for safety purposes. And you could see how loose her zip ties were. I'm surprised they didn't just fall off. Also she had a shelf right next to her that she could have propped herself up on. Insult to the genre.

The Blair Witch Project meets The OA.
I absolutely LOVED this show!!! I also really enjoyed The OA so if you liked that show this is right up your alley. The ambience was genuinely creepy but the story gets you hooked from episode one. You just can't not watch. Do yourself a favour and check this out!
Marie Antoinette (2006)
All flash. No substance.
The costumes and sets are wonderful, but the film itself is wanting. Almost the entire film is a young adult story about sex and then suddenly everything happens in the last 20 mins. And when I say everything I mean it ends bluntly without actually explaining what happened. Not impressed. I give it a 5 for the impressive visuals. That is all.
Ron's Gone Wrong (2021)
Adorable and hilarious
This is a fun ride for everyone! The story is unique, the robot is adorable, and the comedy is on point. I loved this movie! Highly recommend. There is a lot to take in so might need a few viewings.
The Ice Road (2021)
Interesting premise...frustrating delivery
I enjoyed the story but there were several points that dragged. I'd suggest giving it a chance but don't expect a Taken level of film. Another Liam Neeson action film that you'll probably only watch once.
Halloween Kills (2021)
Pure nostalgia for true fans
This ties in with the original and 2018 film so well. And they stepped up their game with the kills which effectively made it scarier. I jumped and cursed a lot, and enjoyed every moment!
Midnight Mass (2021)
Utterly profound
I'm an atheist but the way this show handles the idea of life and death absolutely hit me right in the feels. I'm so moved and so overwhelmed in the best possible way. What a truly amazing story.
Malignant (2021)
Feels like a bad Netflix movie but...
Ok. Points for thinking outside the box. And there were definitely scary moments. But the acting is just awful - which you can probably blame on the writing. Some of the lines are so cheesy you'd think you're watching a made for TV movie. It did have some great visuals though. I'd recommend giving it a try. There is a lot worse out there that's for sure.
Cinderella (2021)
A fun time
I don't know why everyone is hating on this movie. I liked that it was a jukebox musical because it made it more fun when you knew the songs. I thought the vocals were great and the story had a good message. It wasn't spectacular but I've seen way worse. I'd suggest giving it a watch.
P2 (2007)
Solid but frustrating
Good horror flick. Solid premise. But typical stupid decisions by the leading character.
Aftermath (2021)
So refreshing!
This was genuinely scary! And I'm a huge horror movie fan. Well done. Highly recommend.
The Forever Purge (2021)
I've seen worse...
I was pretty bored to be honest. But the cast is decent and if you like the Purge ranch use you'll probably enjoy it. The only real thing it had going for it was the tie-ins to recent (and ongoing) political issues. Not on my list of potential rewatched.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
Thrilling but frustrating
Definitely an anxiety inducer. But it's also frustrating when Jessica Biel makes so many awful decisions.
Breach (2020)
Just awful
Awful story, even worse acting. And let's not even start on the CGI. A definite one to miss.
Colonia (2015)
Gripping!
I LOVE this movie. Amazing acting, and a real edge of your seat story. The fact that it's based on a real place just adds to the experience.
Stowaway (2021)
A must watch for space lovers
This movie was a great watch for me. The story was gripping, and the space walks were edge of your seat stuff. But maybe that's just because I find space terrifying. Yea there were a few things I'd like more information on - like how he got sealed in or what happened when they landed on Mars but in the end I was hooked from start to finish.
Thunder Force (2021)
A fun movie to make you forget your troubles
Is it the best Melissa McCarthy movie? No. Is it still fun and entertaining? Yes. I enjoyed it. Everyone needs to stop being so negative. Give it a try!
Antebellum (2020)
A fresh idea very well executed
All of these reviews saying you thought it was a supernatural horror movie and were disappointed...there are a million of those awful things. This is fresh and amazing. I didn't see the end coming until it was almost there. I was very interested in the characters and the story. I didn't want it to end! Well done.
The Rental (2020)
A genuinely creepy horror film!
Most horror films these days rely on the supernatural to scare but this is a realistic horror that is scarier because of its believability. Very Strangers-esque. Loved it!!!
The Christmas Project (2016)
Adorably sweet and nostalgic
This movie is really cheesy but in the best possible ways. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It brought me back to my childhood. A must watch family movie!
