Morbius (2022)
When a movie should be rated R (Mature) and it's not
As my title says, there's a #1 reason why every movie which should be rated R and is not, won't be as successful as it could've been otherwise. Imagine the latest Joker without R.
With Morbius everyone expected a level of production over Underworld 3 Evolution (2006), but as we know nowdays it's impossible for a studio like Marvel to make such prolonged production with much more technical resources than just CGI.
I think most of fans of Marvel's Morbius are long matured, but they got a movie for kids. Also the vampire theme is old enough and it should've delivered something surprising...
The World to Come (2020)
"Are you the one, to whom I belong"? -from the ending song
During the watch I was thinking - this is what sometimes happening in marriagies and causing cheating and forbidden relationships, but after the end, I was thinking what was the message of the movie, bcoz I came to the conclusion that the movie doesn't judge or justify something there, it just showing this particular story of a marriage and family, and you have to get it and make your own judgements...
What Abigail couldn't have done with her husband that she have done with Tallie. Here we see a lack of understanding bcoz of a lack of talks, conversations and particular discussions on behalf of life of couples.
I can understand Abigail wasn't getting any more emotional satisfaction and their marriage wasn't happy any longer bcoz her husband Dyer wasn't giving her enaough attantion as he was too busy with everyday life, but c'mon, it doesn't give the right to cheat behind spouse on whom she was married with love, right? Yeah, Abigail mentions that she wasn't sure of his suitability, but was she forced to marry him? Most probably no.
Tallie said to Abigail that they (she and Dyer) "both have much to be thankful for".
And Abigail replayed: "We do."
So she must loved him for so many years, and now within months she's just cheating... As I mentioned, she could've discussed with Dyer that wasn't getting enough attantion and emotional support and if after ignored deliberately, then she may have had the right to get a lover.
Yet again, what Abigail couldn't have done with her husband that she have done with Tallie?
Other than these, there are details one should give notice as well. I liked how this movie depicted the hardship of families in that era. Some scenes made me feel sorrow about animals and sorry for how humans are cruel.
Alien: Covenant (2017)
As a part of the prequels to Alien, it's good sequel to Prometheus
I have to admit I watched this for the second time on BluRay with the additional scenes.
My opinion as a fan of this movie-franchise is that, it is good sequel to good movie Prometheus.
In general, it justifies its place in the prequels to the original Alien.
And the movie is clearly not for those who are not in the subject (who didn't watch any of the previous movies or Prometheus with the additional scenes and director's commentaries)...
And in this sequel, main story must be exactly background, which is filed in the film, and not just an action packed survivor. Probably some did not like idea that whole reason was android... But such a development of the story even better goes by Sci-Fi lines, and I think there is even a chance that not all Jockey gods (Engineers) died...
