Station 19: Get Up, Stand Up (2021)
Extremely necessary
I watched this episode nearly a year after the death of George Floyd and it's still as necessary as ever. The episode was beautifully written, it was thought provoking and held up a mirror to everyone who needs it. I never expect less from a series in Shondaland but it still exceeded everything. Great episode, important topic and fantastic acting by every member of the cast.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: He Said, She Said (2019)
Absolutely one of the stronger episodes
I always love how well Brooklyn Nine Nine is able to handle current social issues. This episode was no different.
The story line perfectly conveyed what victims of sexual assault have to deal with. The victim blaming, the struggles women can encounter in men-dominated environments, the discussion between Amy and Rosa.
It showed that people should take a minute and listen to the people who actually deal or have dealt with it. That it's important to have people on your side that don't necessarily understand the struggle, but are still there for you and advocate alongside you. It perfectly showed what women still have to deal with on a daily basis and that we need to be there for one another.
Amy choosing to share her story with Jake as to why she found this case so important made the message so much stronger. Melissa Fumero did an absolute stellar job during that part.
This was absolutely one of the stronger episodes of B99.
