I hope that the new team is leaving the show.

This entire plotline with the old team vs.the new team is annoying. after this episode I would be very excited to see Curtis, Rene and especially Dinah never appear on the show again They are not necessary.

Great episode

Warning: Spoilers
That was a fun episode! I wonder how many takes did it take to film that episode. Like seriously, how did the actors keep themselves from laughing? I am sure I missed some of the inside jokes and I was laughing non stop for most of the episode.

Was it the most original episode? Nope. But you know what. It didn't need to be, because they took it to new level. It was simply said just brilliant.

I did wonder, why did they put Misha tweeting so much..is it because he tweets a lot or because he doesn't tweet enough? I have been avoiding Twitter like plague, so I am genuinely curious.

I don't think it is that easy to make fun of yourself and your characters. But Jared, Jensen, Misha and Gen did that brilliantly :)

Supernatural: Appointment in Samarra (2010)
Season 6, Episode 11

very interesting episode

Warning: Spoilers
Unexpected, but definitely excellent episode.

Dean makes a wager with Death, to get Sam's soul back. Death agrees, but says that for that Dean must wear his ring for 24 hours. If he takes the ring off, he loses. Nice to see Tessa again. Of course soulless Sam decides, to stop Deans plan at any cost. It was truly horrible, how he was ready to kill Bobby. I mean I knew ever since he let Dean being turned into a vampire that he is dangerous, but this episode it was really portrayed how very dangerous. And how important it is to get Sam his soul back, because without his soul he is a monster.

It was an important episode, because Dean actually experienced what are the consequences for cheating death. Like he and Sam..actually his entire family has been doing for a long time. Family member gets killed, someone makes a deal (Mary to save John, John to save Dean, Dean to save Sam, Samuel to save Mary...) and that messes up natural order.

Episode ends with Death giving Sam his soul back.

Finally Castiel is back....
31 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this episode. It had some quite unpleasant scenes for the eye...but that is what I expect, when I watch Supernatural. It also offered scenes, where I quite literally burst into laughter. And we got some new information, about what is going on.

Sam and Dean investigate 3 cases, where police officers died into what looks like Egyptian plague symptoms. So they decide to "call" Castiel and see what he knows. Of course Sam is certain, that Cas wont come, since he has tried to contact Cas since he got back, without any luck. Of course Cas showed up after Dean called for him :)

I for one really like Castiel, he is a nice addition to the series. The way he and the brothers communicate is just great. I really enjoyed their reunion. We found out, that angels are having something similar to civil war.

I don't think that it is a bad idea. We'll see how this will turn out, but in general I like that they explore the supernatural universe a bit outside the black and white box it was put into. For me it was always a bit hard to swallow, the principle that everything supernatural, must be evil. Through the seasons, we have seen vampires who try to live without harming humans and in just last episode we saw a baby shape shifter, so I would like to believe that the baby could be raised to be a good person. Civil war between angels is just an example that they are also not in the black and white box. There can be other shades of colors for them also.

Something is still off with Sam...and his new shiny car just had to go :), so at least that part will be right now :)

Angels buying souls is just creepy.

Like I said I really enjoyed this episode :)

You can't run from your past
31 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I don't think it is as bad as most reviews say. I kinda expected a bad episode, maybe that is why I don't think it is that bad :) I mean I came literally expecting the worst possible episode.

Season 5 ended with Dean going to Lisa and last scene was of Sam, who stood under street lamp and flicked away like ghost/demon, something supernatural. A year has passed since last episode. Dean is living apple-pie life, with Lisa and Ben. It turns out that djinn's want revenge on Dean, so they poison him. Sam, who should be in hell, comes to the rescue.

Not only is Sam back, with no real explanation, also their grandfather Samuel (Mitch Pileggi) is back from dead, along with 4 relatives from the Campbell side, I am not even certain that they were alive.

Further it turns out that Sam has been back for a year and didn't think it would be good idea to inform his grieving big brother about that little detail. Bobby knew also and agreed. They all gave Dean the speech how they wanted to let him walk away from hunting... that just does not ring right. Then suddenly Sam decides that he after year not wanting to hunt with Dean, wants to hunt with his brother again.

Dean decides to stay with Lisa and says that him leaving would just leave them defenseless. I liked that part. Mind you I am pretty sure that eventually Dean will go back to the road, but that he didn't immediately drop everything for Sam like he has done his entire life.

I am glad to see, that Dean got the chance to live the "apple-pie" life for a little while. But I think he will go back hunting, because in the end of day, he can't run from his past.

Don't trust any of the Campbells or Sam for that matter. Something is off. We will get clued in eventually.

I agree with one other reviewer, that season 5 ending would not have been the perfect ending. Dean would not ever leave his brother to rot in hell.

It was not a perfect episode, not one of the greatest, but it was OK.

On other note, one more reason why I think it was OK, is that one of my favorite series happens to be Fringe. I survived all the crazy story lines there...So writers of Supernatural really need to step up their game, if they want to scare me away with new directions/story arcs. That said I still love Supernatural. Although this episode didn't rank anywhere near my favorite season starters, it was a new start. We'll see where season 6 takes me :)

Supernatural: Fallen Idols (2009)
Season 5, Episode 5

Started great, but.....
29 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This episode started out great. It was supposed to be a hunt with learning wheels, so that they could learn how to work as a functioning team again. They went to investigate a strange death in a garage.

"Little Bastard" looked great and when Dean and Sam were checking the engine number..they were simply said just adorable. It was nice to see Paul McGillion in this episode :) Although his part was very short.

There were lots of funny jokes and situation. Like when Sam was attacked by Gandhi or when Paris Hilton was fighting with Dean.

However it didn't end great in my opinion. What possessed the writers to write such speech for Sam? I have tried so hard to find sympathy for Sam. So according to Sam (because that was what he was saying between the lines) everything is Deans fault. Sam went to Ruby, because of Dean. He drank demon blood because of Dean. Then with the same breath he says to Dean that his big brother needs to let him grow up. It was truly ridiculous. Basically Dean sacrificed himself to save Sam, he died...in the 4 months he was gone, Sam went an became demon blood addict. Part of being adult is also taking responsibility for your own actions and not blame your big brother for every single thing you do.

Will Sam ever grow up and accept the responsibility for his own actions?

Supernatural: Sympathy for the Devil (2009)
Season 5, Episode 1
Sam got free out of jail card...
26 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
First of all I started watching Supernatural only few weeks ago, so then I was about 8 years behind rest of the fans. Starting with series so late means, that it is nearly impossible to avoid all spoilers. And I tried. I plan to be on track when 9th seasons airs. Marathon watching changes the way series impacts you, because I didn't need to wait weeks until I see next season. So I watched this episode few hours after finishing season four finale.

Sympathy for the Devil was bit of a disappointment for me. Though there were good parts in it.

I will try to explain why I feel that way. Sympathy for the Devil starts, where 4th season finale ended. Sam and Dean are right next to where Lucifer is rising, I still wonder why Sam hesitated before attempting to run, then suddenly they are in an airplane away from danger. Sam feels OK. Just like that, he breaks the last seal, drank tons of demon blood and he feels no consequences.

When Dean made the deal to save Sam, he faced the consequences, he was sent to hell, where he was tortured for years. He even broke there (with that first seal broke also). But Sam..he drank demon blood, broke the last seal, even had demon eyes and we were shown 4.21 that to detox from demon blood is a brutal business. And 5th season starts with Sam just getting free out of jail card. Like someone just cleansed him of the demon blood.

I know I will probably witness his self pity in large doses during the next season, but still I don't think it is fair to compare those 2 seal breaking's by the brothers. Also I feel that Dean's speech at the end of the episode was justified. Because few seconds before Sam killed Lilith, he heard both Dean and Ruby. And he chose Ruby, further Sam was so far gone, would he have actually not killed Lilith had he known that killing her was the last seal?

So both Dean and Sam in a way chose the road they were going. Dean the deal to save Sam and Sam drinking demon blood and trusting Ruby over Dean. Dean got tortured in hell in return, that is not a slap in the wrist. Sam just walked away, he didn't even get wrist slap for that. Maybe in future, but not now. One thing Sam got right though, that no mere sorry will ever fix that.

I liked how Castiel kicked some ass :) I mean in Lazarus rising, he was awesome and then he was kind of helpless for the rest of the season(no, I cannot interfere, it is gods will....). Now finally he started fighting back :)

It was a nice touch to let us know, why Lucifers new vessel chose that.

Bobby stabbing himself while possessed...pretty impressive.
