The Strangers (2008)
Come on, seriously
OK, I don't typically comment on movies, but this movie deserves it.
First, how long could the intro scene with the failed proposal last? End it already. It dragged on for a greater part of 20-30min. And the tie in to the ending, expected.
Regarding the entire film, could it be any darker? Apparently, all you have to do is rent a nice a house, use no lights and you have yourself a horror film worth millions. I couldn't seen crap throughout the movie, which is typical of low-budgetry cover-up. Also, the sound quality was crap. If you couldn't hear the actors, you only heard over-bass sounding pounding.
The ending sucks. No continuity, no completion. There was no twist, no plot really. I'm sorry, but three people entering a home and terrorizing people is just too simple.
I was disappointed, true story or not. Emblish, that's what's been done to true stories since the 1970s. I don't recommend wasting your time on this cliché and poorly constructed film.
The Unknown Trilogy (2007)
Wow...OK
Wow...OK. So, after reading the little feud on here, I decided I had to see this movie for myself. This movie is HORRIBLE. When I heard the term "Jerk School," I stopped watching it. I strongly recommend cleaning a closet instead of watching this movie, you'll be more spooked/entertained.
It's low budget with bad acting.
Whoever is giving this movie 10s is completely incorrect and should be disregarded.
I am in no way connected to any of the other reviewers.
Simply put, this movie is not worth watching.
Dark Fields (2006)
Avoid
I was browsing through my On Demand and found this film, thinking, OK, this may be a decent low budget horror film. Mistake #1.
Mistake #2 was continuing to watch the film for about an hour before I finally turned it off. Not only was the acting crap, but the actual plot and scary scenes were lame. I can't even describe how annoying the characters were, which could be related to the Canadian "aboot." Who knows.
Granted, I did not finish the film and I don't know what happened to the acne ridden driver of the car, but I had a major problem with one scene. Tell me how hay can fall on someone and knock them out, to the point of unconsciousness? Come on. Don't even bother.
So, in general, I can appreciate poorly done horror films. Usually, at the very least, they're so crappy they're funny. This was NOT the case with this film. I kept saying, "Five more minutes, may be it will redeem itself." It made no such attempt.
If you wanna see a funny crappy horror film, I suggest Killer Nerd.
