The Witcher (2019– )

Mediocre at its best

Season 1 was alright, but season 2 after a great start took a nose dive.

Characters didn't stay true to their own identity, story didn't follow any natural flow, whilst it was slapped together which felt fake.

I have read the books,games while my partner didn't know anything about the Witcher story beside the Netflix show. For both of us season 2 it was really boring and non inspiring.

Hope they will bring it back for season 3, or it will be lost in the Netflix mediocrity.

Lovecraft Country (2020)

After an amazing introduction huge drop

I have watched currently 7 episodes, as they are the ones out at the time of writing this review.

The first two episode set up the world and characters amazingly, you can't wait to continue watching. These episodes are a solid 8/10 in my opinion.

The problem is that after each episode starts to feel like filler episodes. They keep introducing new characters to whom we should care and making vague connection to the main characters.

This is like The Walking Dead started with Season 6 immediately.

Not recommended.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker (2019)

Fan service at its best

I saw the movie yesterday, and my smart watched noted that I was taking a nap during the movie, but i wasn't.

This movie flat lined, not in the way that it is dead, more in a way of excitement. It gets to a level of excitement, entertainment and almost keeps that level during its whole run. There are couple of exciting scenes, but not much. To be honest there is not a scene I would re watch. Maybe at the end the movie tries to pick up itself a little bit, but still doesn't manage to leave the realm of predictable and over done fan service. As an adventure space opera, it wasn't really an adventure since most of the scenes and plot was predictable. I didn't feel the old school adventure movie vibe here.

The only thing this movie does is nostalgia fan service, and sometimes what it does best, it does it too much. After all the lightsaber fights and scenery, this movie will still stay mediocre at best.

Forgettable.
