Charmed (2018)
Charmed is quite Charming.
So, I watched a few episodes and from what I gather this series is aimed for teens and very young adults. I think when viewers compare this charmed to the original, they're forgetting that the audiences are two very different life styles and age groups.
The CW version of Charmed is geared towards the new era, smart phones, frat parties & sorority parties too!
Where as the Original Charmed focuses more on the life after college (except for when Phoebe went back). It focuses on marriage and babies and balancing a career while managing their magical career too. It's still extremely relatable even till this very day.
I'm nearly 30 so I'm not sure how relatable this new reboot will be for me but, I'm not going to bash it simply because it doesn't fit my age group.
A Star Is Born (2018)
Beautiful Movie with a Trigger Warning.
Spoilers!
So I went to see this movie knowing nothing of the original. I just absolutely adore Bradley Cooper and LOVE Lady Gaga.
It was absolutely breathtaking. The music, the acting, the storyline. Even the bits of comedy that just flowed so well.
Spoilers below!
I posted a Trigger Warning as my title because I'm a Suicide Survivor who recently had a manic episode that led me into the hospital. While I am doing so much better.. I wasn't prepared for the ending. Needless to say, it deeply brought up a lot of my issues. I'm probably the only one who felt this way but I just felt like it needs to be said Incase someone is far off mentally and they go see it and nothing worse happens.
The Purge (2018)
Let down...
As a fan of the Original Purge along with the sequels, I had high hopes for this. However it's such a let down. The episodes build the viewers up for something but then when the next episode airs, that something NEVER happens. I'm giving it 2/10 because the first episode showed promise but has fallen flat ever since.
Confined (2010)
will i watch it again? nope.
--contains spoilers--major spoilers--
Alright, so I decided to watch this movie because I was bored, and the summary sounded good. The acting was not terrible, was not great either. The only point that did not quite make sense to me is why was she so interested in her neighbor, if she was so busy with moving to a new place, and all that how did she have time to spy? Yet she did have time to spy, and the more she did the more she found out. Victoria was a powerful woman full of great strength to not only ignore what her husband was saying about her being sleep deprived and basically calling her crazy, she still managed to follow her gut and save the girl next door. Not only the girl but her best friend also. The ending is what really makes me mad, he falls down the steps and that is it, he is done. I wasn't too sure why they just left him there, it wasn't like he broke his back? He walked to the police car. Yet they did, they left him lying there and he did no more harm? It made no sense to me. Not a great movie, not a terrible movie, somewhere in between. I also did not like how the husband was suddenly on her side at the end, and everything was OK. If that was my husband and he thought I was crazy, i'm not sure I could forgive him. Yet she does. The only twist I did not see coming was the wife knew all about the son dying and the daughter being kept down there. She got what she deserved though and what do you know, one big happy ending.
Dark Shadows (2012)
Dark with a touch of light.
All right, This is my first review, so if it's jumbled. Sorry. I marked Spoiler because I don't want to be blacklisted. Any-way, I'm extremely bias because i'm a huge fan of Johnny Depp and Tim Burton and of course the wonderful Helena Bonham Carter. I swear this trio is the triple threat of Hollywood. In my own opinion of course.
Okay so The movie. Honestly, I thought it was great. I mean Johnny Depp was impeccable. He plays Mr. Collins, with such depth, and makes the vampire such a charismatic character. I will say that the movie was not as funny as the previews showed. It did have some humor moments though. Tim Burton, is great with putting his dark and twisty with a dash of light into his movies though. I loved the Collins mansion, it was beautiful.
The Plot & story line is too known, a bad love and so she damned the whole family. After centuries still holding a grudge. I mean its just predictable. I thought the writing was pretty good, again speaking of a completely bias opinion because of how much I love all three of these fantastic actors / actresses.
They shouldn't get all the credit though because Chloe Mortez and Michelle Pfeiffer are damn good too. I didn't see the whole werewolf thing coming, and she did pretty damn good too.
I never saw the TV show .. so I can't compare the two. I do hope there is a 2nd movie though. I really enjoyed this film.
