Utter disappointment
27 March 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I am one of those guys who grew up watching G.I.Joe of the television as kids the carton characters and Yo ! Joes were so exciting.

While the 1st movie itself was a bit of a let down I thought about giving the 2nd movie a chance but the movie was an utter nonsense

You kill of duke. Baroness goes missing the is no hi-tech weaponry there are some computer simulated scenes and we have frigid acting by the leads.

Don't know who approved the scrip. What was the producer thinking because the director was clearly not thinking.

All I want to say is if you have to watch the movie. Please do not go in with any expectations. The movie is a sheer disappointment.

We missed baroness and duke and. Heir sizzling romance. Nano mites. Hi speed action sequences, technology and everything else that you would expect.

Storm has come !
23 July 2012
Warning: Spoilers
"A storm is coming Mr. Wayne and you and your friends are going to wonder why did you keep so much for yourself and leave so little for rest of us." - when Anne Hathaway whispers these iconic words in to the ears of Christian bale at that point i set my expectations right. I know that there is only one way the movie would go from that point and that is uphill.

I would say that Christopher Nolan has out done his previous 2 installments of the franchise and has come up with a master piece.

I was mesmerized and this was one of those movies where you want to go back for a repeat showing immediately after you have seen the movie. Yep that good.

The acting prowess displayed by Talia Al-ghul, Selina, bane, pennyworth, Mr. Fox and Mr. Wayne were superlative.

You couldn't have asked for a better casting. All the characters fit into the mold created by the writer effortlessly.

The special effects were good. We have just seen better in "The Avengers".

However "Bane" did leave me yearning for the "Joker". Heath ledger has made the joker an iconic antagonist for many batman movies to come all the villains will be competing with The Joker.

However Tom Hardy has done his best. In one of the last scenes of the movie you get to see his face. Thats when you realize okay this actually is Tom Hardy from "This means war." Mr Wayne does manage to come out of his despair and depression rather well. Penny worth provides all the masala of the dramatic mother from bollywood movie, only thing missing was the cheesy dialogues "Mere Laal tu mujhe chhodd ke nahiin jaa sakta" 2 ladies falling over themselves to be with the billionaire Dilettante. A nice guy who loves to run a large corporation just purely out his love for the Wayne family and science and no ulterior motives for himself.

The underdog of the movie was the future Robin. I thought i could have seen more of him in the movie.

However the palace/fort over looking the well did not make any sense. if you are gonna have a well which is going to be near a palace and yet no one helps the prisoners escape was a little dim witted.

Over all a true delight to watch.

The dreadfully deranged spidey !
30 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
It has been 24 hrs (app.) since i have seen the movie and i am still desperately trying to understand what was the target market in the mind of the director ? The movie was too complicated for children and was strange for adults like me.

Despite of Emma stone and Sally field being totally wasted in their respective roles. I still thought that Andrew garfield would do a good job in the movie or at least justice to the spider-man character but he too seemed lost in the school (He is only 28years old) Why did peter and gwen need to go to a school school which occupies half of Manhattan ? as if that is possible in NY.

Dr. Connors seemed deranged more than seeming like a genius. when you see a Marvel movie you expect the villain to display a lot of shades of grey and here we had an antagonist who seemed to be obsessed with improving mankind of all its weakness.

our dear Dr. Norman Osborn seemed to be dying in the movie (God save the green goblin, what are we going to do in the sequel if the green goblin is not saved !!!) Irfan khan was visiting from the sets of MIB4 or maybe 5 he seems better suited there and not as a scientist dressed in all black.

Peter's parents have a small side track which is left unexplained that it leaves viewers perplexed as to why did we just waste 20 minutes talking about them !!! A dying police chief applauds spider-man for his service to NY and tells him that he is meant for great things but also makes him promise to stay away from his daughter. The man just gave his life for the country but seems to be an overprotective father.

I had gone in thinking that i would see a movie as amazing as The Avengers but clearly i was disappointed. Sam Raimi was better and we want him back.

Quite dumb
24 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
When you first read about this movie, my instant thoughts were i hope this is not like dangerous ishq. I couldn't take another movie spanning over decades and centuries where the lead couple had a boon from lord krishna.

Thankfully it was not.

This movie though could have shaped up as an awesome romantic comedy as that is where the movie seemed to be heading, but then somehow the Indian directors feel that if there is not enough emotional melodrama the movie will not work.

So the director goes ahead and adds drama (Weepy, touch-feely scenes.) completely out of context.

i would have expected shahid and priyanka to have excellent on screen chemistry but off late it seems that Shahid only has chemistry with himself, at least not his co-stars.

the last 30 minutes of the movies are absolutely dreadful.

Please watch if you have absolutely nothing better to do and are bored with life.

Gory, macabre and spellbinding
23 June 2012
The movie has a huge quota of blood shed and stomach wrenching scenes. There were scenes where i felt that i would throw up.

but still the movie is slick, fast and entertaining.

Movie spans from British India to modern day and surprisingly you don't realise who is the protagonist with whom you need to sympathise and who is the antagonist.

all the characters are well defined. Hats off to ANurag for superb cinematography ! at the end of the movie, i could have sat and watched the 2nd half as well. I didn't wanna go home thinking what is gonna happen next.

what i didn't understand is why Manoj bajpayee and Richa chadha's children didn't resemble either of them :-)
