Bloody Wonderful

What an honest and brave look at young people's challenges and successes around mental health, navigating sexuality and general early adulthood. So cleverly written, kind and absolutely hilarious. I was truly touched by this show.

The Batman (2022)

Not a touch on Christopher Nolans Batman

I think I was always going to be cynical about this movie as I love the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy so much, so pay no mind to me if you're a big fan of this version.

I think Robert Patinson was actually well cast. I like the crudness of his disguise and it seems that there are less funds at his disposal than the historic Batman. There was a part when he was visibly frightened of a height which was a nice touch. I liked that people ridiculed him, particularly the lack of respect from Police has an authentic feel. Perhaps I liked his vulnerability.

Paul Dano was a cool villain, Alfred was alright, Zoe Kravitz looked incredible but considering the length of the movie, there wasn't enough character development to become invested in any of the characters, yet at the same time the story line was a little convoluted in places. Altogether too long and a bit too dreary.

Dexter: New Blood (2021–2022)

Dexter New Blood was definitely the closure I was looking for but I'm still so sad that it's finally over.

Absolutely love the resurrection of old characters, not a huge fan of the addition of Deb screaming in his ear though. Loved Julia Jones as Chief Bishop 💪

Great addition of a new serial killer and applause for the capture and true Dexter Morgan style execution of said new serial killer. Now what am I going to watch?!

Every Breath You Take (2021)

So bad

What mostly astounds me is that this script attracted some (in my opinion) really great actors. The plot is weak, the writing is just awful, the acting was kind of cringey, mostly I think because the cast were having to over compensate for a really horrible script. I struggle to see how this film got a 5/10 average.

Sharp Objects (2018)

Absolutely incredible

As most have written, the cinematography is beautiful. Impeccably casted. That ending could not have been better.

Utter tripe. It reminded me of the Nicholas Cage version on the wicker man and something that was trying to be the conjuring. Such a shame as the acting line up suggested it would be a hit.
