Hellboy (2019)
Not as bad as some say
It was entertaining and had some funny moments too. Not going to win any Oscars but its fun to watch. People think too much when they watch movies like this and pick it apart. Just watch and have fun.
Chad (2021)
Weird but funny
Not sure why so many negative reviews, I was laughing off and on throughout and was definitely entertained. If your a stuffed shirt, snobby, pompous, boring and bloated aristocrat then you probably wont like it. I dont take life to seriously and I like to laugh so I liked it.
Fences (2016)
Boring
I usually love his movies, but this ones a bust. Wonderful acting by all, but drags and drags and drags and drags, much like this sentence. Yippie Denz can memorize 2000 words and banter back and forth with his fellow actors. Nothing but dialogue for the 1st hour with nothing, going nowhere. I literally droned out for large chunks of the movie, he talks so fast and so much I just couldn't stay focused on any part of it. This was not just me feeling this way. My mother wanted to leave after 30 minutes and on the way out the couple in front of us were debating on what place it was going to be on their "worst movies ever list". I heard "we should have going and seen Rogue One" by a group that was behind us.
This movie has some great acting, but it takes more than that to make a great movie. This one does not measure up. One of the most boringly paced movies I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and wait till it comes out on Netflix so you don't feel violated by spending good money on it.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
What can I say..I had fun
Don't write a lot of reviews, but I felt with all the bad ones I needed to chime in. It wasn't perfect. It had a few "huh?" moments I didn't leave think..ohh wow!! But I certainly enjoyed myself, to the point that I will most likely go see it again with some friends that haven't yet. If you go into it thinking you're going to watch a comic book movie, then I think you will be OK. If you go in thinking your going to see Shawshank Redemption type depth..then you will not. Its superheros for crying out loud, watch them bust things up and have some fun. Ben played Batman well..dark and angry. Henry..was..well..Henry, a more than competent Superman, he looks the part and plays it well. It isn't a light hearted movie, like the original Superman..its darker for sure. And yes there wasn't great character development..but really? These characters have been developed for decades in comic books, books and movies. Do we really need more on screen development? I had fun and it seemed like most of the people around me did too. You will always have naysayers and complainers. You cant please everyone. I think the 1st Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy are the yard sticks to measure all Superhero movies by..and this one may not be quite there, but its darn close. If you could give half points, Id have given it 8.5/10.Definitely worth seeing on the big screen.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Entertaining for sure
Not sure why there are so many bad reviews going on here. I think people expect too much and think way too much. It was surely entertaining...go in there and relax and enjoy yourself. There were some dark parts..some funny... some sad.. very well acted for the most part, IMO. Its the 1st one, Im sure there will be more character development to follow. Everyone's griping about the "incompetent" Kylo Ren..but he is young. He isn't and shouldn't be expected to be as imposing a threat as Vader was in his formative years, hes just beginning to learn. I had fun and will probably go see it again in 3d this time.
