Sun Mool (2001)
Kind of a WASTED EFFORT!!
This movie, even though with great & quality production, is A MESS! Odd pacing and it tries a lil too hard to make the scene 'work'. The 'heartfelt' soundtrack comes on TOO MANY times and is not varied enough. Lazy composer with too many projects perhaps??
The direction & screenplay at times could've been much much better! In general, the story is great on paper but what translated on screen is something which I do not desire to watch twice. But that doesn't mean the story doesn't have its issues and oddities! The sudden change of the parents heart and lack of explanation for their previous issues is very odd and unbelievable. Same goes for Lee Jung Jae's acting. well, maybe the screenplay & director is to be blamed. They didn't make me feel & believe THE STORY.
Styling of the actors could've been better too! sigh.. many bad decisions. I reached a point where I couldn't believe that Lee Jung Jae is in this movie! They didn't use him to his best possible! The wife could've been portrayed different. Was she THAT BEAUTIFUL in the KFC scene? whats with her hair style? She looks like someone who lives in the village. i just couldn't believe....
A great example of what worked is the korean film, "MORE THAN BLUE"! Now that's where MANY GOOD DECISIONS were made. "More Than Blue" truly showed the sensibilities & good taste of everyone involved in the movie!

Koreans - The best in film making!
I've watched sensual Korean love movies like 'Aein', 'An Affair' and 'Green Chair' and just recently 'Changing Partners'. Wow, i was wowed again by the Koreans! Hollywood never make movies/write stories like these. It's evident that the Koreans make their movies with full of heart, soul & wit. The cinematography,as usual, is beyond excellent. The best in the movie industry, in my opinion! I've watched too many great Korean movies that i'll now say, "THAT'S SO KOREAN!" whenever I see the great qualities in korean movies.
'Changing Partners', like the other (highly recommended) movies mentioned above, managed to go deeper with more meaning especially towards the end. Even the sex scenes are done well. I can just assume that if an American made this movie, it would not be as good.
But a movie wouldn't be great without good actors right??? Korean actors are really good! Spellbinding...they usually are!
Sing (1989)
Great cast,a memorable 80's film.
I've been looking for the DVD...and waited...waited..waited...and I'm still waiting..and no one bothered to produce it.
The casting for these film is excellent. The actors did a great job. The songs are really good...and the dance pieces are wonderful! and the 'Romance' disco scene is one of my favourite scenes in my whole movie collection. Peter Dobson(The Frighteners) in his most touching, charming performance. This is a must watch!
