The Lawnmower Man (1992)
One of my favorite childhood movies
I see that many reviews focus on the outdated effects and to be honest, even if those are very outdated, I really never minded them. I love the story. I love the idea of being able to improve human intelligence via technology. I love the moral dilemma and the idea that the more intelligent people are, the more curel they can be, giving themselves more importance and putting themselves above everyone else. It also happens to less intelligent people as well, but very intelligent people can be more dangerous because of what they can do. And of course, all of this was mixed with then novel idea of video games and potential of computers. I loved it as a kid and I mist admit, I really liked it again as an adult when I revisited it recently.
Cinderella (2015)
The movie that did everything right!
Or, even better, Disney adaptation that did everything right! I genuinely loved it and enjoyed every second of it.
It had all the feelings of the original and even mire. Although I was sceptical of the main actress in the beginning, she managed to completely charm me even before the ball, and aftrr that she's so incredibly lovely, I couldn't do anything but to genuinely cheer for her. Kate Blanchett is absolutely phenomenal as a stepmother and the sisters are spot-on. I like how they are not depicted as ugly, but as bad people, which made them very repulsive in my opinion. And the prince is so lovely, he is the definition of the Prince Charming. Helena BC as a fsiry Godmother was such a lovely surprise to me, she made me laugh so much. And the dress and the slippers are even more beautiful than in cartoon, which is something I never thought possible!
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
I really really loved it, even though I didn't expect it!
Tbh, I really didn't expect much from this movie when I saw the trailers, even though I love Thor, Taika and Chris Hemsworth, but it deemed like it's going to be cheep mindless comedy. I was absolutely utterly wrong about that and I was never happier about that. I LOVED IT!
Love and Thunder is beautiful, colorful, wholesome story about pursuit of happiness and purpose in life, even if you live for thousands of year or if you're just a simple mortal doomed to die in the near feature, what is it that makes life worth living? And, I don't know, maybe it's just me and where I qm in my life right now, but the end of the movie and the final message hit just the right spot and I couldn't stop myself from crying. I laughed, I cheered, I felt the romance and love, I cried and jn the end I left the cinema with such a warm feeling in my heart ❤ I really really really loved it! My friends and I qre definitely watching it again on the weekend 😁
Dou Luo Da Lu (2021)
I love it, better than expected :)
I am currently watching Douluo Continent and I am loving it! I didn't read the novel, nor watched the anime on purpose, because I didn't want to build up expectations, and as a fresh viewer I am liking the drama so so much - it's cheerful, funny and positive, and exactly my favorite kind of fantasy. The cast is great, Xiao Zhan is both super gorgeous and very convincing as smart, capable, kind and brave Tang San. :) I really love his character, the way he's keeping low-key, while being true bad-ass, the way he is nice and good, but not a pushover, but brave, strong-minded and principled. I like the main female character too, she's cute and bubbly, but very good at taking care of herself, a total oposite of usual damsel in distress, and I love it :) I like the story so far, it is intriguing, pulls you in and you can't wait for more, so I am really excited about it. As for the cgi - it depends, some are awesome (like purple demon eyes and soul powers), some not so much (like the spider monster), but too me it is more than passable and honestly, as a fan of fantasy dramas, I am used to it. It also occured to me that monsters could have been done like that on purpose, not to look too real, since it is aired on national TV at noon, when kids are watching, so I guess if monsters looked too real that could have been a problem with younger audiences... I love that Xiao Zhan did his own dubbing, but the sound overall (not just for him) isn't the best, I think that sound management could have been a little better, but it is not too distracting. Overall, it's interesting, funny and beautiful, and I enjoy it so much, I hope novel and anime fans will give it a chance and have understanding for the necessary changes. Afterall, the novel writer himself participated in development of the drama and was satisfied with the results, that should be telling enough. And, after the drama is over, I will definitely read the novel and watch the anime too :)
Lang dianxia (2020)
Worth of all the waiting 🙂
After long wait, drama finally aired, and it was worth of all the wait 👌😁 Albeit a bit naive, the story is complex, full of twists and turns and a little bit of suspense, the pacing of the storytelling is fast and it keeps you interested. Costumes and scenery are beautiful, and actors are charismatic and good, some of the characters are more lovable than the other, but all in all - this was good rldrama to watch and I enjoyed it thoroughly 😁
Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
Perfect!!
Perfect movie, I loved every second of it!!! So refreshing and funny :)))
Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993)
I loved this movie when I was a kid and I still do :)
It will never fail to make me laugh. My husband and I recently watched a lot of our favorite movies from ou childhood, and I must say many have disappointed. But not this one :) Actually, not any of the Mel Brooks' movies disappointed, they are all still funny as we remembered them.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Even with all the plotholes, I loved the movie
I will not waist time on too many details, most of them are already said in other reviews. However, I have to say a little something about Thor - I can see that many didn't like his appearance in this movie, but those people have to understand how broken he was. It's not just the fact that he lost his family and half of what was already left of Asgard, he had to deal with tremendous guilt- because he could 've prevent it all if he just went for the had or the arm instead for the chest. Can you imagine living with that kind of guilt? That what we've seen in the movie is a text book definition of depression and a person being in denial of it. I love Thor and I hope it gets better from here, but I really like how he was presented in this movie, because it's a little bit more realistic than most of other things.
Captain Marvel (2019)
It's a good movie, although a bit childish
This is only my opinion and many may disagree, but I actually liked a movie a lot, even though it is a little bit childish (but not too much, so it's not really a bad thing).
This is a movie about stubborn, headstrong, tenacious woman, who was (un)lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time which made her one of the most powerful beings in the universe. She doesn't know that at first and that is story, her rediscovering herself after the change. And it was very nice. The kid in me is screeming from happiness cause that's how a dream of becaoming a superpowerful superhero really looks like.
This certainly is not the best MCU movie, but it is good and it's worth watching, and if you forget the whole feminist-political context people have created (without any reason honestly) you will enjoy it. Cause it is everything that we wished for when we were kids. And it's not bad thing to remember it :)
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
I lobed every second of it!
I laughed, I sang, I danced and I cried. So many emotions, so well put together. Absolutely captivating movie, I loved every second of it! :)
V Madonna: daisenso (1985)
I loved this mobie as a child!
Unfortunatelly, I can't find it anywhere now to watc it as an adult :)
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
It's not so bad
I generally liked this movie, it was fun and interesting, even with all the flaws, and I really don't understand all the hate.
However, it is far from perfect, but the thing that bother me the most is the "love story" (if it can be called like that) between Lando and the robot. It wasn't necessary, the movie would do just fine (if not better) without it and it felt very awkward.
Anywhose, I feel it is better movie then everybody's saying, and I wanted to share that.
Venom (2018)
Damn, I loved this movie! :)))
I've just wacthed it and it was soooo better then I expected - it was fun, it was exciting, it had action, it had romance, it had bromance, but nothing too much - it was perfect!!! :)))
The Predator (2018)
Fun, but bad
It had some potential in it, but it's all lost due to bad storytelling and, well, really, really, poor plot. True it has some humor and you will laugh, but it wont change the fact that it's really not good...
