Anna Elizabeth James is on crack
6 October 2022
This movie is terrible! I had to force myself to watch up to the mid point. Had to turn it off, terrible! Both Mulroney and Davis can not save this piece of crap movie. Anna Elizabeth James needs to stop wasting money on twinkies and improve her writing skills. This is horrificly bad! This movie has no plot whatsoever and makes no sense. Greer Grammar can not act her way out of a paper bag. I wonder what the cocaine budeget was on this project. The group of people who filmed this are known for misappropriation of funds in the film industry. My guess is 50% went to Mulroney and Austin whereas the other 50% went to waste such as take out, drugs and alcohol.

Slow burning, no pay off, the bad guys win in the end. Probably the worse horrror movie I have seen. I do not know who is making some of these movies these days. There is no story or character arc.

This movie made no sense, none whatsoever from the get go. There is no plot, no character or story arc. Just someone running around killing random people. No backstory, no character development seriously what was this crap?

The Requin (2022)
Good box art, terrible movie!
8 August 2022
There is no way this movie had a budget of $8.5MM. Unless there was $8MM earmarked for cocaine I doubt that is accurate. If you're looking for a good shark movie, or a survival movie keep on searching, this is neither.

Prey (I) (2022)
Pretty good

I liked it, the movie explains how the gun shows up in Predator 2. That was pretty cool, and I love how Naru used innovation and wit to defeat her opponent. Everyone likes a David v. Goliath story.

Different spin on Santa
26 December 2020
I liked this movie, its a different spin on Santa to how things would probably be if he existed in the modern day. Government contracts, labor laws and of course; people trying to bring him down. Enough of the jolly guy in a red suit. Society needs more of a depiction like this for Santa Claus. The holly jolly movies can still be for the kids though.

TERRIBLE!!!
15 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was a major let down, Snoke is just a guy with Sith powers who gets killed off quickly. Rey is not a Skywalker her parents are peasants who are buried on her home planet or so the story says for now. The CGI on Yoda was terrible, Luke Skywalker was misused again and new characters are highly unlikeable or you just do not have any interest in getting to know them. Garbage I can not believe I waited two years for this movie. It's worse than The Phantom Menace.

If you're looking for a great 80's throwback this it! It reminded me a lot of SIXTEEN CANDLES and ONE CRAZY SUMMER. I highly recommend watching this movie if you grew up in the 80's, are a teen, or just want a good laugh while with friends. Great coming of age comedy all around, highly recommend!

Aleister (2015)
Review by Horror Society - Mike DeFellipo
6 February 2016
Mark Del Negro is back with his second feature film, Aleister. In 2014 Negro gifted us with Blood Reservoir, a horror thriller that also served as a Sleepaway Camp reunion between cast members Felissa Rose, Johnathan Tiersten and Maximo Sorrentino. Blood Reservoir was compromised by a series of production issues which resulted in a lackluster film. With Aleister, though, Del Negro promised that he turned up the production quality several notches. And what does that say about the story? Read my review below to find out how Aleister stacked up!

Aleister is written and directed by Mark Del Negro with cinematographer Tom Jorgensen. Cast members include Andrew Roth (Frightworld, Waterfront Nightmare), Apryl Crowell (Music Store Massacre, Zombie Isle), Johnny Alicea, Andi Balser, Ian Lyons, Nathaniel Sylva and Stephanie Wohlers. The film follows, "a newlywed couple seeking a fresh start to their lives by moving into an upper scale New England community. While settling in, they discover many disturbing secrets and acts connected to an infamous Satanic Cult which took place inside their very own home. They soon realize… they're not living alone."

The first thing I want to say is: yes, the production quality on Aleister is much higher than Blood Reservoir. Virtually all of the technical aspects that went awry on Mad Chaos Productions' last feature film have been corrected this go around. This just goes to show viewers and filmmakers alike that putting together a crew that is both supremely talented AND reliable goes a long way in making your product worthwhile. I have my degree in Media & Film, and as someone with a background in film making, there's no glaring mistakes here that I can see. Good lighting. Good audio. Good camera work. My only real criticism of Aleister from a production standpoint is that the CGI gunshots at the end were poorly executed. No pun intended.

As far as the casting goes, I'm glad that Del Negro took Aleister in a different direction, too. Instead of relying on indie cult stars to sell his movie, he chose two recognizable names in indie horror – Andrew Roth and Apryl Crowell – and filled the rest of the cast with adequate talent. When not working on his fitness (I follow him on Instagram), Andrew Roth is working in dozens of independent productions of all genres and is one of the most frequently recurring men in horror. I'm glad that he got to play the lead here. Apryl Crowell is still very much a newcomer, but she has a buzz around her. After watching Aleister, I can see why. For some reason, I really have no reason why, using Roth and Crowell as leads made the film feel so much homier, so much relate-able. Instead of focusing on big stars and "What will they do here?!" the audience can enjoy the cinematic experience of watching two up-and-comers tackling a supernatural- thriller.

Finally, I want to say that Aleister is a slow-burn supernatural-thriller. It doesn't have people spinning through the air with their heads on backwards. It doesn't have people being dragged up the staircase by ghosts. The satanic cult is ever present, though they maintain this presence mostly through clues and homages. I'd probably best describe Aleister as; ROSEMARY'S BABY meets THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL. With a little bit of romance, drama and comedy thrown into the mix, the plot slowly builds to a climactic finish without being too gory and in your face the whole time. Again, there's something homey (and I mean this in a good way) about Aleister. I could see a lot of viewers watching this with their boyfriend/girlfriend especially in the winter months.

From movie critic Frank Lapointe.
2 November 2014
Mark Anthony Del Negro is the director screenwriter and the general force behind Blood Reservoir. He put it all together with a standard horror story, some seasoned performers with experience in films of fear, and some interesting locations in Western Massachusetts.

Not too surprising we get to watch a group of young folks who are headed for a camping trip in land that has a warning not to enter. Blood Reservoir is on that forbidden property. The name is said to have come about because of a history of strange deaths at the site. The campers are out for romance on the surface but some of them are determined to search for an old hidden Indian treasurer.

Early on we observe a local Mayor from the past killing a young woman he has fathered a child with, it is not clear how that scene fits in with the present time at Blood Reservoir. But at the beginning we watch a young girl head into the cold water at night and quickly begin to call for help as a fog fills the water around her.

From there it's all very standard, each of the characters are picked off by characters who don't appear to have motivation to slaughter but vigorously take on the task with stones, and knives until the end.

This is Del Negro's first film and he may look back at this as one observes their picture in an old high school year book. Did I really look like that?

His star Felissa Rose has experience in blood letting films and while she looks a bit dangerous at times she appears a little too attractive and regular for the total scope of her character Angela Stone. The Sheriff (Maximo Gianfranco Sorrentino) has some difficulty presenting himself as the law of the land in the county where Blood Reservoir exists. The two young women Hannah Landberg and Jessica Mazo look great as is usual for this style of film but their lines appear to be very simple and ineffective.

The music is edgy and effective by Kevin MacLeod and Red Sky Mary and the dark scene at the beginning with a girl in the water feels like Jaws.

Pumpkin Jack is referred to and appears at the end to begin the haunt all over with success we could see him again.

Blood of Ohma (2011)
Not Bad
6 February 2013
This was a pretty good film shot on a shoe string budget, if you look past the poor lighting and image grade, it is a fairly decent film. Lots of the image grade problems could have been solved by using Close Ups opposed to Mid Frame shots. I give kudos to the practical effects department for working within their means.

The film itself gives an alternative and original story to the legend of Big Foot. Furthermore if the species does in fact exist; it gives a plausible storyline to why it has been so elusive to mankind. The acting was good with the principle characters, however it was kind of shaky with the family at the beginning of the film.

Angelina Leigh steals the show with her character ANNA FARMER, her character is the most believable as a simple country girl. She hits her marks, delivers her dialogue without hesitation, and she has three nude scenes.

In conclusion this film would be much better with a higher budget to provide better equipment, the plot and storyline are there.

The Truth always comes out!
20 November 2012
I consider myself a freelance historian in the WW2 discipline, and I had no idea the WERETH 11 existed. History looks back at the men of MALMEDY as the wrongfully executed soldiers of the Battle of the Bulge. However, there were several more accounts just like MALMEDY and this documentary brings one these travesties to life!

From a detailed background and explanation of what the Nazi's called THE ARDENNES OFFENSIVE, to a detailed analysis of the American Front lines. You as a viewer are easily brought back to December of 1944.

The film was very detailed by interviewing eye witnesses, veterans, and descendants of the fallen. Overall it is a very touching story that explains good will always prevail over evil. If you're a history lover, especially the WW2/Battle of the Bulge genre, this film is for you.

This is a very well thought out psychological thriller. Although the plot and the flow of the story is slow at times, punchy dialogue and nude scenes make good compensation. The overall story holds up very well and if you're a person who likes mysteries you'll be making assumptions on who the characters "really are." There is some foreshadowing but not the kind you expect. This film will totally ambush you in the end when you're saying to yourself, "what the hell I'm I watching and where the hell is this going?" Then all of a sudden "BAM!" Your patience has paid off and you're saying to yourself "Holy (deleted expletive) I was not expecting that! Nice twist, brilliant!" Very scary, this movie shows that ones mind is a very powerful, and a terrible thing to waste. Highly recommend, get out the popcorn and turn out the lights, but keep a candle or night light on, you'll be needing it.

A Very Intellectual Film
3 January 2012
This was a very well thought out and original film, first one must understand that this is a Psychological Thriller like THE SHINING. The Divine Comedy is used as this films basis as to one is a prisoner in purgatory or the different levels of hell for their earthly vices consisting of the seven deadly sins. Therefore in Lehman's terms if you indulged in lustful deeds during your life, you will be surrounded by unwanted lust for all eternity. This is a movie that gets better the more times you watch it, every time you pick up something new, a clue of shorts to tell the story of Pearson Place. Whether its a journal, a photo, or a set of keys, foreshadowing is inserted to the mind of the viewer. Furthermore when a new clue is discovered in a follow up viewing you're saying to yourself, "isn't that smart, alright I get it." What I liked mostly about this film is the "ghosts" are in human form, unlike other thrillers where the ghosts are mutilated, don't speak, glow a specific color and float. The ghosts in this film are physically attractive and walk around like they're amongst the living. Very good movie to turn out the lights, make a big bowl of popcorn and get out the trusted security blanket, you may need to cover up for certain parts.
