Yawn Festival
8 April 2004
This is a movie that you want to like because you know it's supposed to be chic, it's supposed to be hard-hitting, it's supposed to be intellectual.

Damn, what a yawn festival though. This is a thriller? Give me Hollywood tripe any day if this is what qualifies as highbrow entertainment.

A 1 star movie with an extra star thrown in for the great acting by the male lead. Forget the nonsense you keep hearing about the supposed 'twist' ending. You can see it coming a mile away.

Save your money for something more thrilling, like spectating a chess match.

Entertaining!

Yes I was reminded of Guy Ritchie's style while watching this film, but what's wrong with that? This movie is entertaining! There isn't much of a message here other than a few allegories bandied about linking relationships with billiards, but you know what? The actors were all very believable in their roles. It is funny and above all it is stylish and entertaining! Check it out.

Taut, suspenseful, horrific.

This is the film that got me hooked on horror films. It's a tight film that moves at a perfect pace. You will be caught off guard many times on first viewing and see firsthand why old-fashioned special effects are far superior to today's cgi. Rob Bottin, you rule dude. Anyone who digs horror or sci-fi and especially a combination of both will love this movie. Check it out.

A modern masterpiece weaving a human tapestry.
20 January 2004
A modern masterpiece weaving a human tapestry in the style of Robert Altman. This is the best American movie of all time. You will either love this movie if you get it or you will hate it if you don't. Over 100 references to Exodus 8:2 in the movie if you look carefully enough, "And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs." This movie is about how you may be through with the past, but the past isn't through with you. You can either forgive the past and move on with your life or you could let it manipulate and ultimately, destroy you. What can we forgive?
