Terminator 2 Judgement Day 5 stars/5 stars
21 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Terminator 2 is a brilliant movie, not the best movie but a brilliant movie.

In Termiator 2 we have the fun factor as well as important things such as a great plot, some decent acting and a great array of filmmaking techniques.

It's hard not to enjoy the canal chase or the escape from the mental institute but it's hard not to be amazed by the fascinating concepts and themes raised by this movie.

I do have one complaint as that's the goofy thumbs up at the end when the Terminator dies.

The action, the story, the SFX, the acting, the cinematography and the film as a whole though is so well done.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
30 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The original trilogy are some of my absolute all-time favourite films but there's no doubt in my mind that the prequels are not as good.

Phantom Menace is not a bad film but it does suffer from various aspects. For one the storyline about the trade federation and intergalactic taxing isn't the most epic of story lines. Obi-Wan is pretty good. Qui-Gon was okay I guess. Anakin just didn't do it for me. Darth Maul was brilliant but unfortunately he doesn't really have any dialog and he doesn't have enough screen time. Jar Jar was one of the most irritating characters in movie history. The highlights of the film are definitely both the pod race and the final battle where Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon take on the Darth Maul. In conclusion I think the film is okay. It's worth a watch but it's not anything special.

Batman (1989)

A True Classic
31 August 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Batman is an exhilarating funny, sick and twisted thrill ride that'll leave you wanting to watch over and over again.

Michael Keaton gives a fantastic performance as Batman/Bruce Wayne but it's Jack Nicholson's Joker that steals the show. He's so full energy that he makes you laugh but he's so bitter that'll you'll feel guilty for finding him amusing.

The action scenes aren't the best but they're very enjoyable. There's lots of on screen explosions and gunfights which are great.

From the batmobile to the batwing Batman has an excellent array of gadgets to thwart his adversary the Joker.

This is absolutely a milestone in movie making.

No, baby

A horrible mix of bad acting, unfunny jokes, a plot that makes the Mario Bros. Movie look like Citizen Kane and some of the rudest and most pointless scenes ever. I saw this movie expecting something funny that would spoof the excellent Bond series but what I got was more how I imagine an adult film to be. You wouldn't know it was supposed to spoof James Bond as nothing Bond-like is present. The characters are boring and remarkable but not in a good way. The jokes are corny and are just vulgar. If you haven't already been cursed by its awfulness then skip this movie at all costs.

I recommend this movie to someone that enjoys stuffing their face and then going on fairground rides a million times eventually being sick.
