Surprised me!

I can't believe it took me so long to discover this show. It's funny, original, and weird I the best way. It's not offensive at all--Patty is a deeply complex person and it's about way more than "being fat." It satirizes many social issues and frankly to the people who down vote this just don't get it. Even though it easily could have sqeaked out another season, I thought it ended nicely. Not expected, but it made sense sense based on who Patty showed us she was throughout the show. It almost felt like it was planned for two seasons. The actors are phenomenal and even thought not a huge Alyssa Milano fan, I enjoyed watching her in this role.

I mean...low expectations.

There's a lot of negative reviews here because... I'm not sure what people expected but I had almost no expectations for a trilogy I did not even know happened that takes Magic Miketo London. I knew that none of the other cast were in it, so it's pretty clear what this is going to be. I don't even know if I would call it a cash grab because how much money could this have made?

Channing Tatum is always a delight to watch. His character remains dry and funny throughout the ridiculousness of this plot. Salma Hayek is a queen, regardless so there's that. It's enjoyable to watch because they have an unexpected amount of chemistry. I mean like not fireworks but...cute. For some reason its rated R but not necessary. Low expectations, it's a fun watch with a girlfriend and glass of wine.

A very sweet throwback!

I actually thought this was very cute. I'm of the age when I would have been watching the original 20ish years ago and this has the same spirit. I thought Addison Rae was endearing --who knew?! What made me laugh was that apparently teenagers can't drink in movies anymore and they were having mocktails but swearing up and down. Times have changed, eh?

A surprise

Not at all what I expected, this series was funny, warm, and at times, risky. Highly recommend.

"truth" has it's place here.

There are some angry people out there who are incensed that this film does not portray Henry Coxwell who really took this flight with Glaisher. Instead, it gives life to female balloonists at the time by inventing a character who embodies those women, AND Coxwell. I'm doing so, the film cover much more ground.

An article on the Smithsonian website reveals just how many details were in fact accurate, and how many were embellished for the sake of film, but also to convey the danger of the mission, less readily apparent to the average viewer.

Really, it was a beautiful film reaching great cinematic heights :-)

Best show on TV.

It's Shakespearean in it's drama. You can't look away and it's not just about excess, norndoes it glamourize wealth. It's about broken people only to remain broken because they simply have the means to function in their current states. It's brilliant.

My favorite Marvel film

Thor shines as the most comical Avenger, especially in scenes with Mark Ruffalo. And I love diving into Norse mythology. It's colorful, fantasy driven, and action packed. Really fun movie! Hemsworth is finally properly utilized for his comedy chops.

The most beautiful movie.

I've been trying to get my kids to watch this for a year. They were never interested. Finally, it was my turn to pick. The whole family was in awe. It was colorful, imaginative, and the story was beautiful. That kid who boxes Miguel is amazing. It got me thinking we should start celebrating Dia de los Muertos.

It's kitschy.

This film was colorful, funny, and imaginative. Dont expect top notch story telling in this second film. Its more concerned with fun that not. Harry's storyline is a bit out there, but then so is the whole thing. I'm looking forward to the third installment.

Why the bad ratings????

I loved it. It was beautiful and eerie. I found the characters to have depth and the plot fascinating. The scenery was really lovely and the end was hauntingly romantice. Great chemistry.

Magic Mike (2012)

Exactly as expected.

For those of you are posting negative reviews...I'm not sure what you expected here. It's a film about strippers. In fact, I could care less if there was no plot (which there wasn't). In fact, I'd rather a superficial plot so I wouldn't be distracted by the awesomeness that is Channing Tatum. The movie was fun and predictable...not too serious but not embarrassingly raunchy and even skipped the happy ending that tied together all loose ends. I appreciated the fact that it did not pretend to be something it is not.

Most characters lacked any depth, except for Mike, who while played solidly by Tatum, was predictable. Nonetheless, he made you want to be his next conquest a million times over. No other character made you feel much--even the other leads. But I did not go see this film to be emotionally invested.

The other strippers could have been hotter. The newcomer, 'The Kid' was young and cute and the others were a little creepy--but aren't most male strippers? Matthew McConaughey was pervy and creepy and funny. Have fun watching this film...go with your girlfriends and catcall the screen. It's worth seeing Tatum's butt on the big screen--just don't expect an Oscar winner.
