It seems like once again we are shown how California police fail the victims of rape and assault...The man was a repeat offender and even will all the testimony matching the police once again blame the victim and claim it all to be false...This would likely remind you of the case depicted in 'Unbelievable' where the state of Washington failed Marie Adler not only once by not believing her but then by charging her with filing a false claim. Similar to here with Denise being called a liar and the city of Vallejo attempting to charge her and her boyfriend with falsifying the incident...it has to make you wonder how messed up these areas and police departments are to blame the victim, never actually investigate anything and lie to avoid accountability not to mention these are only the ones we know about.

This Davis kid in Seattle must have been born yesterday...to make the assumption, without any bases for it, that calling 911 and police would arrive in 90 seconds when it actually takes 18 minutes for him...let alone agreeing to allow the perp go outside to have a cigarette and not realize she's going to run away...how stupid can you get.
Like seriously, he is beyond too trusting and borderline idiotic. If you have to think you have someone in your home call the police don't try to multitask and keep the perp busy while the less than urgent dispatcher asks you the most random questions that have nothing to do with the situation.
This kid probably still thinks the perp gave him their real names.

So many people failed her so many people abused her so many people took advantage of her and her situation.
My dear you are probably the strongest and most resilient person I have ever read about.
Thank you for still being around and not caving in to ending things.
The police department you went to should be ashamed of themselves. The detectives should have been removed on the spot...no victim should be spoken to that way ever.
Your foster mothers should be ashamed of themselves. The doubting of your attack based on "how you seemed" or "how you acted" previously. Their judgement is on par with a misogynist blaming a woman for being raped simply because she's a woman, it is disgusting.
I hope they read this review as well...foster mom's seriously you are an embarrassment to the foster care system and should be ashamed of yourself. Marie may have forgiven you but that's only because she's has proven to be a better person...always.

I cannot express how frustrating it was to watch this episode. I wanted to go after every person who made that young woman feel isolated, alone, doubt herself, and betrayed to say the least.
This shows a police department that should do better, if your job is to protect people then who was protecting that woman from you.
I know I know their actors but damn this based off real events some detective actually treated a victim like this and thought it was ok.
Some young women was left feeling like she couldn't trust her own truth. I really hope this gets better, it's hard to watch with how it's going.

To preface I have not read the book, didn't even know about one until reading reviews.
With that being said after skipping over the over done sec scenes to try and find the dialogue...this is your basic toxic relationship with gas lighting and manipulation.
Honestly I don't understand how any of these characters waste their time on each other. I mean I get it's work of fiction but at least try to make it believable FFS.
The Steven character gives off the worst predator vibes it's disgusting. The lost puppy trying to make in the big bad world routine is old and over played.
About the only thing that is believable is the sociopathic nature of Lucy. Especially for someone the characters age.

Watched this cause the original was definitely terrifying...wasted 2 hours and 18 minutes that I can never get back.
Not only slow and predictable (in a bad way) but legit looks like some random 30- 40 year old virgin living in his mom's basement thought this up.
As someone taking one for the team just don't watch it. It's not worth the boredom or predictability.
Absolutely worst choice for Halloween and any positive ratings obviously haven't even watched something as simple as Friday the 13th or Paranoral Activity...do better.
Unfortunately I have to add more characters to post this and really the movie isn't worth this many.

I watched this movie back in 2015 when it came out. Thought it was a great movie then. Rewatched it again in 2019 and it's a "good" movie. I can't get over John's behavior the entire film. If I was Ann I would have shot him in that water. The yelling the violence the out burst and the "I'm the smartest man in the room" attitude is nauseating. Caleb should have lived John should have died end of story. That violent and dismissive attitude is not needed in an apocalyptic world.
