A seemingly purposeful mess of nonsense. Nowhere near as clever as it thinks it is. I wanted to enjoy this but it was contrived, left no meaning apart from 'there's this concept of a multiverse' and we should appreciate what we have in life. Big and good concepts, but there's a detachment in how the story is told. Just too chaotic to create something you can latch on to, so it becomes unintentionally superficial. On the upside the acting is great, with well deserved gongs for the leads. Why do I have write six hundred characters for one of these reviews? I've made my points concisely without switching people off with a case of TLDR.

Clever story, ok screenplay, lame direction and acting

I've summed up my feelings in the title of this review by a rather average bloke. Only 6 stars but I still recommend a watch, just brace yourself for some oh dear moments of poor direction and bad acting. It could have been so much better. The saviours are a clever story and the acting (only) of Mark Rylance.

It's very clever and very dark (but then Black Mirror always is). I do agree it's a bit prententious in places. Having now watched all of the 5 endings, and not without some exasperation, and yes repetition, the penny dropped that Bandersnatch is all about choices and the choices you think are under your control. The outcome is pretty bad no matter how you choose because the ultimate destiny is not in your hands. Choices in life are not always good versus bad. It asks more questions than it answers and while that might not be satisfactory to some, that's the whole point.
