Watch BBC's Sherlock, this is a waste of your time and everything
5 April 2017
I recently read a review here saying this show is great, then I saw it was rated 7.9 by IMDb users and I wondered what is wrong with the world? I guess Donald Trump being the most powerful man on the planet answers that question This is a horrible adaptation of the brilliant BBC drama Sherlock which is also set in modern day. Sherlock doesn't deserve this piece of utter crap, sir Arthur Conan Doyle doesn't deserve his legacy to be throw away like this.

If you like this, you have an IQ of a monkey or you have not seen anything good in your life. I guess that tends to happen to people who have never traveled outside their own state. Ignorance is a bliss but in this case, if you haven't seen the BBC Sherlock, ignorance is a crime.

Dear American TV please stop trying to copy everything good and stop voting for people like Trump. I guess that is why he wants to build a wall, doesn't want people to see how vast and beautiful the outside world is.

Dear Sherlock Holmes, on behalf of the creators of this show, I apologize to you and your creator Sir Conan Doyle. I also apologize to the creators of modern day Sherlock at BBC.

Clichéd yet a masterpiece
3 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
First of all let me be very clear, if you want to watch this movie merely for the story then this isn't your cup of tea, if you want a complex plot then definitely stay away; however if you want to watch a real "Musical", good acting and a good direction then you will enjoy this.

Bollywood has often attempted to make "Musicals", most of these have been either futile attempts or blatantly stupid ones however Imtiaz Ali has pulled off this musical with maturity that is yet to be scene in this genre in Bollywood. Of course the message being delivered in this movie is something that is being delivered in every other contemporary Bollywood movie but finally a director delivered it with subtlety without insulting the intelligence of his audience by avoiding unnecessary details. Deepika's acting is mature and Ranbir yet again shows if given a good role he can act as well as anyone in the industry.

The reason I gave it 10/10 is not because it is a perfect movie but because finally Bollywood had made a real musical and because despite being a clichéd story it is delivered in a very very mature manner.

If you have an IQ of a retard, you will like this
26 November 2015
The amount of money this movie has made just shows you how retarded the masses are. People who liked this movie either have zero IQ or have never seen the real world or have never watched something decent or are utterly delusional. Wonder what they smoked while making this movie? a 4 year old could have written a better script and an 8 year old could have done better as a director. If this is the standard of movies making money now then forget about watching any quality stuff in the near future. Just when you thought Bollywood was turning a corner, it has gone back to the dark ages and then some. An yes you are a RETARD if you like this movie, you should see a psychiatrist if you actually thought this was anything but an utter waste of time, money and everything.

F***ing grow up already
14 January 2015
This movie depicts everything that is wrong with Indian cinema, in fact it overshadows some of the good work done elsewhere. When the likes of Farah Khan are given more spotlight than Hirwana or Mehra, you realize how far behind the general audience is.

I wonder why SRK does such movies. Is he that cheap now that he does such pieces of crap for money? then you see Irani in this movie, a brilliant actor and you wonder if Farah Khan touched their feet and begged them to do this movie for her.

Plus i think Mr. Bachan just died after watching the younger Bachan, Ashweriya must be thinking after watching this that she was better off marrying a clown. When you can do brilliant movies such as Guru why would you do such a pathetic movie.

All in all i will say, anyone who liked this movie probably has a lower IQ than a chimpanzee.

SO kindly don't watch this crap and please if you like this movie for heaven's sake get a life and grow up.

LOL !! No story but funny if you watch it just for laughs
22 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is a typical Salman Khan Masala flick. The plot seizes to exist but that is the USP of the movie. The fight sequences are over exaggerated but if you watch it as a comedy scene you will enjoy it a lot.

The dialogs are funny and catchy and some of the dance steps are extremely hilarious. The overall aura of the movie is pure laughter based on non-sense.

The acting is also pretty good apart from Sonakhshi Sinha, who actually spoils the movie because of her body language and slow and poor dialog delivery.

Watch it just for laughs and you will enjoy it, however if you are desperate for a good plot and a decent story, you will be left disappointed.

My Rating 7/10, again i will say this watch this movie just for laughs otherwise you will be disappointed.

Dexter: The Dark...Whatever (2012)
Season 7, Episode 10
10/10
Dexter : More a human than a machine
3 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this episode. The writers have done a fantastic job by introducing Hannah's father, he brings the human side out of Dexter.

For many a season Dexter has been portrayed as the perfect killing machine that follows a particular code, in this episode we see a more human side of him. Hannah and her father's role in this episode help us understand a little more of Dexter's fascinating personality.

He succumbs to his human side and takes responsibility for his actions. Helps his sister out and also helps Hannah out, letting go off the code for the people he loves. That is a very rare side of our favorite serial killer.

Every time i think Dexter has nothing more to offer, the writers prove me wrong. Yet again they have shown their great flexibility and ability to surprise us.

The Dark Passenger doesn't control our friend Dex, he is just a human being trying to rationalize his uglier side !!

Great direction
1 December 2012
Talaash : A very rare Indian thriller

My rating : 8/10

Unfortunately many fans across India and Pakistan won't find this movie interesting because they are addicted to either lame comedy or chocolate love flicks.

I wouldn't say the story is great but the direction is brilliant, some of the shots taken are amazing.

For people who hated the movie , i would suggest : Go watch Om shanti Om or Rab ne bana di jodi :p

P.S : No Offense

Not for the light Chocolate absurd love flick fans , But a brilliant movie
20 November 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Rajneeti is a brilliant move. Unfortunately many Bollywood fans have been disappointed because it isn't their usual stale cup of tea.

Despite having a massive star cast , the character building in this movie is exquisite and the credit goes to Mr. Prakash Jha, who always tries to mature Bollywood. The acting is absolutely marvelous, hats off to Nana Patikar who yet again has proved his class as an actor.

I was pleasantly surprised by Ranbir Kapoor's performance in this one. This movie gave him a chance to show his versatility. Katrina Kapoor hasn't done a bad job either.

However the stand out actor is Manjoj Bajpai, his dialog delivery will take your breath away. Ajay Devgan compliments Manoj's character very well. Even Arjun Rampal has outdone himself in this one.

The movie shows the internal dark side of politics. Yes many of the viewers may think it is unrealistic, but is it ? Look at some of the most renowned political families in the world and the atrocities they have had to overcome. The Gandhis in India, the Bhuttos in Pakistan, the Kennedys in USA.

I understand for many of the viewers the story line is hard to digest because this stretches the boundaries of Indian cinema. It isn't as good as "The Departed", but if that movie was believable so is this.

One of the best Indian movies i have seen. Hats off to the casting team, the actors and especially the director. A must watch if you are mature enough, if not then go watch "Rab ne bana di jodi" because that might make sense to you despite being a horrible movie.

Rajneeti gets a 10/10 from me .. watch with an open mind !!

Kahaani (2012)

Sujoy Ghosh and Vidya Balan take a bow
16 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Kahaani is an absolutely brilliant movie. It engulfs the viewer and leaves a strong impression at the end. Sujoy Ghosh has done a mind-blowing job as a director in this one.

For me Vidya Balan has performed out of her skin in this one. A better performance than Dirty picture or for that matter any of her other movies.

Parambrata Chatterjee has done a fabulous job as Rana, a perfect foil in he movie. However the best performance in this one has to go to Sasawata Chatterjee as a cold-hearted living in disguise contract killer.

The casting is absolutely brilliant, the direction is exquisite, the screenplay is outstanding. No over the top emotional scenes just a terrific flow to the movie.

Another mention for Sujoy Ghosh, he has displayed Kolkata life so brilliantly that you actually feel part of the movie, some of the shots and camera angles are inspirational.

I highly recommend this movie, and rest assured if you are a true movie lover you will love this one.

How I Met Your Mother: Now We're Even (2012)
Season 7, Episode 21
10/10
A deliciously funny episode
16 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this episode. It reminded me of season 2 and 3 with the weird captions and catchy music. Barney in this one is more the original one, the one we all loved.

This episode isn't only about the laughs, the story does move on too. Robin and Tedd getting back in touch, Robin getting noticed finally for her efforts, Lilly and Marshall figuring out parenthood all add up to make a great episode.

However, the one thing that was most eye-catching in this episode was Barney's feelings for Quin. He lets his guard down and lets Tedd in at least for a moment.

All in all this was a fresh enjoyable episode hence i give it 10/10. Thanks to this one we are set up brilliantly for the season climax.

I'd rather watch myself in the mirror for 2 and a half hours
15 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I get that many ppl are big SRK fans but that doesn't mean u like every movie he features in. This is one of the most terribly scripted movies i have ever seen. In fact i don't know why did they even take up this story in the first place.

So i ask you RNBDJ fans , What is the story of this movie ? How in hell can't the wife recognize SRK in a mustache ? Was she high or something ? People who enjoyed this movie are either blind SRK fans or have never seen movies which actually make sense.

The funny part is that at the end, the director tries to put in a tragedy. Please explain to me where the tragedy is and where the spark is at the end.

If such a story can make a viewer emotional, i think either the makers of this movie or the viewers who actually got emotional need serious medical help.

Sherlock (2010–2017)

And i thought the Sherlock character couldn't get any better
2 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I am a huge admirer of Sherlock Holmes. Have read almost every novel seen very movie and every series made on this gargantuan character.

Just when i thought Sherlock can't get any better or bigger, BBC came out with this series and i was blown away. Set in modern day London Sherlock becomes even more interesting.

Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock has done an absolutely amazing job. To play the witty yet anti-social characteristics of Sherlock is not easy at all but Benedict has pulled it off with utter ease. Martin Freeman as Dr.Watson has complimented Benedict very well, in fact the casting is just exquisite.

My fav character though in this show is Jim Moriaty played by Andrew Scott and his performance is one of the best i have ever seen on screen. The dark yet similar character to Sherlock brings the best and worse out of Sherlock. Take a bow Andrew Scott for your tremendous job.

Anyone who hasn't seen this, i recommend it highly. Even if you are a traditionalist you will love this show.

I just wish they make an episode every day, it is that good. But i guess the best things always come in limited quantity.

Friends (1994–2004)

Best Sit-com Ever (beyond all doubt)
2 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
FRIENDS, without doubt is the best sit-com ever. I watch numerous TV shows but i have never been captivated more by any show than this one. All the six main characters have done a marvelous job in depicting the day to day life in the big apple.

The casting couldn't have been any better. David Schwimmer as Ross, no one could have pulled it off better. An insecure, reluctant guy who always manages to complicate things.

Matthew Perry as Chandellar, o boy what a performance. The witty jokes and the sarcastic humor to go with the facial expressions and the body language, the best man for this particular character without doubt.

Matt Le Blanc as Joey, the extreme dumbness yet pulled off in such a lovable manner makes joey everyone's fav character on the show. I was shocked to see Matt Le Blanc performing so brilliantly.

Jennifer Anniston as Rachel, a runaway bride who is somewhat obsessed with her looks. Starts as an outlaw in the gang but smoothly becomes the integral part of the group. To this date Jennifer Anniston's best work in front of a camera.

Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe, no one else on the planet could have played this role as well as Lisa. A taboo figure in the gang, very weird, mysterious and in the moment. She provides the X-Factor to the gang with her bold antics.

Courteney Cox as Monica, an obsessive compulsive perfectionist. She provides the balance to the gang with her logical, reality based solutions. Courteney is another one who has performed out of her skin in this show.

If you have not seen this show, trust me you have deprived yourself of something truly magnificent. For once "great show" isn't an overstatement.

I have seen all 10 seasons about 10 times, even remember the dialogs in each episode :p. It is addictive, it is brilliant it simply is the best sit-com ever.

Grow up please !
25 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I was so looking forward to this movie bcuz i thought if any1 can pull off a Bond-esque roll it is Saif. Yes Saif isn't bad but the movie is absolutely horrible.

Copied scene/concept from Angels and Demons at the end, other scenes that were taken out straight from the bond movies made it very clichéd and boring. Kareena, although i am a fan, did not do justice to her part or may be the director was naive.

I didn't get why all the major MOMENTS of the movie depend on such LOSE events. For example. Saif asks for a cup of beer as his last wish and when that cup finally, comes he kills Huzaifa and escapes. Then Colonel who apparently in the movie is a deadly assassin shoots Kareena but she doesn't die. From 2 feet away why didn't he shoot her in the head? As a result Kareena tells the world who Colonel is. Bloody hell man please GROW UP ! I guess common sense isn't common after all. This movie i am sure will make loads of money bcuz it has a star cast. Movies such as "Udaan", "Stanley ka dabba" who actually are brilliant movies never end up becoming huge successes on the box office.

Plus to end this review, People who say this is a fast paced thriller, please please get over your love for Kareena and Saif and judge this movie objectively. A 2:30 mins movie is by no means fast paced.

Those of you who haven't seen it, might as well not waste their time but if you are a wannabe Hollywood comes to bollywood fan then please go watch it because u will enjoy it.

Absolutely amazing if u watch with an open mind,
31 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I know many people will say this isn't as good as the original because of 2 reasons :

1. They might not even watch it

2. They will be extremely stubborn and won't look at this movie with an open mind

I however found a million reasons to enjoy this movie, on top of those million reasons

1. The role of SANJAY DUTT, according to me one of the best performances in a negative role.

2. Hritik is very different from AB and that is what i liked, he gave the character an HR touch instead of copying AB.

3.The casting couldn't have been better, Rishi Kapoor surprisingly pulled off Rauf Lala with extreme ease and Priyanka Chopra provides the perfect balance to the movie as Kali

Please if you are stubborn and have already made up your mind before even watching it,don't go to the cinema. In the end i will like to say

Sanjay Dutt : Hats off to you

SRK is the King of Marketing, but honestly the movie absolutely sucks.
15 November 2011
Well to start of, some people have categorized the haters of Ra.One as wannabe critics. That is perhaps the funniest thing i have ever heard. The movie was dreadful, what was there to like ? even in science fiction flicks the aura of the movie makes it believable but this movie was just trying to hard too please and create a logic.

Lately something horrible has happened to Bollywood. With movies such as "Rock on", i saw the film industry maturing but since "wanted" the whole trend has changed.(although wanted wasn't as bad as the films following it) What was this movie trying to accomplish ? if Money then well they have been extremely successful otherwise a totally worthless piece of junk.

One thing though, SRK has proved yet again, he is the king of marketing. Such an horrific movie but yet such brilliant marketing. Take a bow SRK !!

for all those who haven't seen it, spare yourself from this trauma.

P.S An Akon song doesn't mean the movie is brilliant

Rockstar (2011)

Un-Indianised, simply brilliant
15 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Lately i have had to go through the trauma of watching some rubbish, money motivated Bollywood flicks such as the prolonged "bodyguard" and the hideously scripted "Ra-One".

However, Rock-star is just on another level. It is the most gripping Bollywood film of the year. It reminds me of movies like "Rock on", "Dil Chahta hai", "Rang de Basanti". Because this like them is not a clichéd story, it is out of the box and very very different from the monotonous chocolate-love flicks.

The best part of the movie was that there were no non-sense songs, all the songs made sense and were perfectly timed. The music by A.R Rehman is absolutely brilliant. Apart from that, it is very well directed, the way the director has played with the time-line is marvelous. The time-line keeps the viewer glued to the screen. For instance, the start of the movie is showing JJ or Jordan at a massive concert and then suddenly you see him as a struggling visionary artist during his college life trying to imitate famous Rock-stars.

Yes, the movie basically is a love story, but an extremely gripping one unlike most Bollywood love stories. You see how Jordan becomes the star he is, due to this love story. That is what makes it so special, 2 plots working side by side complementing one another i,e him becoming a "star" due to his passionate "love affair".

The facial expressions of both "Ranbir" and "Nargis" add to the spice. You actually feel they are in love. The intensity of their relationship is very evident due to the acting. Nargis despite not having her own voice has done an outstanding job and Ranbir Kapoor has stepped up a notch from his other brilliant performance in "Rajneeti".

It is one of those epic movies, you cant afford to miss. If you are a fan of wonderfully scripted biographies then this one is definitely for you. However if you enjoy over the top action, stunts or illogical comedy then don't watch it.

My recommendation to all purists out there, do watch it. I cant believe the rating of this movie is only 7.6 which is most likely to drop.Through all this i have learned one thing, Through this movie the Indian cinema has shown signs of maturity however through the rating the public has not.

Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis take a bow !! extremely brilliant performance !

How I Met Your Mother: Disaster Averted (2011)
Season 7, Episode 9
10/10
Refreshing
8 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I don't write reviews on episodes usually however i was compelled to write one here. This is the best episode of season 7 without doubt.

We finally see the story move on from the monotonous nature of season 7 so far. The story told about the Hurricane Irene helps us connect to the ongoing situations of the characters even more, especially Barnie and Robin.

The season started on the note that Robin still isn't over Barnie and via this episode we learn how. The love and affection Robin never got from her father, she sees all this in Barnie. Hence now i understand why it was necessary to introduce a shrink into the scenario; to make sense out of the relationship between Robin and Barnie.

Even more intriguing is the fact that throughout this season and almost the whole of this episode, Barnie shows he is in love with Norra. So what happens at the end of this episode left me stunned.

After a long time, i cant wait for the next episode of HIMYM. I remember this happened during the first 5 seasons, i was hooked on it. After that most episodes weren't about the story but just laughs.

I hope the writers recapture our imagination and keep us hooked. My request to the writers, keep it funny but also run the story along.

I can safely say this after a long time, i am so looking forward to the next episode of How I Met Your Mother ......

Dexter: Just Let Go (2011)
Season 6, Episode 6
10/10
Darkness vs Light
7 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This is a wonderful episode. From the monotonous kill spree of Dexter, this episode provides something totally different. We see the light inside Dexter thanks to Brother Sam, yet ironically it is brother Sam who leads him to foreseeable darkness.

Throughout the 6 seasons Dexter keeps talking to his Father, however by the end of this one another relative is now a part of the darkly dreaming Dexter.

I am so looking forward to the return of the cold blooded ice truck killer. The dark passenger of Dexter is no longer a mere passenger, he seems to have taken over.

What is even more intriguing is to see how the writers will mold the season in bringing the good back in Dexter. Despite being a serial killer, Dexter has always been able to connect to the lighter and the good side of the viewers however with the sudden entry of his brother, the one, he killed himself it is very exciting to see where our favorite character is heading.

Will the writers keep the good in Dexter or is this another twist in the tale ? I for one will not predict, will let the writers captivate me. Is the ice truck killer a fork in the road or the road itself ?

Dexter: The Getaway (2009)
Season 4, Episode 12
10/10
The most amazing climax (spoilers)
24 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This is perhaps the best TV series episode i have ever seen. In all the previous seasons, the ending has been a little predictable(although i still enjoyed it) but here the writers just take it up a notch. The whole story of season 4 comes down to this episode, a mind blowing climax. A direct face off between two of the most accomplished serial killers. Who wins ? Dexter as always? well not quite, Trinity doesn't disappoint, he lives up to his reputation and delivers the final blow !!

The way the writers built Trinity's character is amazing, slowly but surely one gets to realize why he commits these crimes and even Dexter is captivated by Trinity.

Dexter makes a lot of mistakes in this season, and the writers end it on a perfect note when Dexter gets punished for his biggest mistake yet and that was "not to kill trinity when he had the chance". All in all this was a great season with the best ending i have ever seen in a TV series.

Dhobi Ghat is a simple story of four different people trying to cope up with their personal issues in Mumbai.
30 January 2011
Dhobi ghat is a rather brilliant movie. The story is very light and the movie moves along at a very slow pace yet keeps the viewer involved.

Amir Khan in the past has given many commercial hits such as 3 idiots, Lagaan etc but this movie is very different. It is perhaps a total outlaw when it comes to Indian Cinema and many followers of the Indian films may not like this one bit.

The movie shows all aspects of the Mumbai life. From the richest to the poorest society, this movie has it all. The story line seems rather simple but the direction of the film is spectacular to say the least. The viewer starts to relate to the characters and becomes more and more involved. The ending of the movie may leave a lot of people perplexed but for me the open ending leaves one to ponder therefore Dhobi Ghat has a lasting effect on the viewer. Many Indian movie fans may hate this movie but my suggestion to them is to grow up and be a little flexible.

Hats off to Kiran and Amir for a movie that defies the very laws of Indian cinema.

If u have a secret please do not fall asleep !!
21 August 2010
This is one of the best movies i have ever come across. I am a true movie geek and love to compare directors. Chris Nolan is one of my favourites. After movies like memento, dark knight, prestige Nolan has taken it even one step further if ever that were possible. The movie is almost perfect if not it, the story line is so well written that you cant take your eyes off the movie even for a second. Learnardo was it his absolute best. The casting is absolutely amazing, every1 involved in the movie is as if he/she was born for the respective part. Nolan trademarks are very apparent in the movie. As the movie runs along you become more and more involved, surprisingly fiction seems real. Even the effects in the movie are marvellous. All in all i will say this is a must watch movie. Any one who has not seen this has deprived himself of a true masterpiece !!
