Westworld: Vanishing Point (2018)
This is a warning!
What is apparent is that most people don't understand that this show isn't just entertainment, but a warning of what's to come. We are speeding towards the point where Westworld becomes a reality. And when it does, we humans will be fighting for our lives.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
Sad ending
So let me get this straight. Two kingsman are needed to kill a Statesman, who lost his pregnant wife to druggies.
Is that right?
They showed the sympathetic characters from the movie. But how about the thieves, muggers, gang members, rapists, and murderers? Associated crimes from the drug trade.
The script mentioned innocent people. THERE ARE NO INNOCENT DRUG USERS! Everyone who snorts coke, shoots heroin, or even smokes dope is complicit in all the murders that have taken place to support the drug trade.
If this were real life, I'd be rooting for Poppy.
Star Trek: Voyager: Child's Play (2000)
The Parents Were Right
The title of this review says it all. Janeway and Seven are arrogant. But the parents are right. They use the resources available to them.
And I notice that Janeway is especially egregious when it comes to the Prime Directive. It's okay for her to put her ship and crew in harm's way based solely on HER morals, but will demote/punish anyone else if she doesn't agree with their ignoring the directive. (see episode, Thirty Days)
Love at Large (1990)
Is it Noir, Comedy, or Love story? Why yes it is. Then again . . .
First off, let me say I love this film. It might seem odd for a normal man of 30, when this film came out. But then, I like musicals, as well.
From reading the comments here and elsewhere, people seemed nonplussed as to how to categorized this film. What clued me in was the confusion it caused everybody.
This movie really is a mystery.
But the mystery isn't in the plot. It doesn't keep you guessing. Or the characters; they're played pretty straightforward. It's the genre. Every time you get comfortable with how it's being played, Rudolph switches it up.
Is it a film noir? Is it a comedy? Is it a love story? Uh, yes.
But that's the beauty of this film.
It keeps you guessing as to what it is.
And Rudolph would have been having a laugh for the past quarter century if more people could see this film for the brilliance it is.
Actually, if more people had seen it.
But now, he's waited so long for people to get it, that well . . .
