Great show
22 June 2024
I only found this after looking for other shows with Angeline Ball after watching the brilliant Hidden Assets, where oddly she plays another detective called Emer but with a different surname. Not sure if they're supposed to be the same character or not but they're pretty similar.

I found Acceptable Risk compulsive viewing and was sorry when I finished it. The ladies absolutely rock, the principle bad guy is a bit cartoonish but that didn't detract from the fun. Angeline Ball and her Emer character we're dropped from season 2 of Hidden Assets for some reason, Angeline said it wasn't her choice, I hope we see Emer return in something soon!

Could have been better casted

Predictable Hallmark style Christmas romp but no chemistry between Deirdre Mullins and Nick Hendrix, he's a charisma vacuum, she's great. Nice to see Richard Lintern getting off with the still foxy Caroline Langrishe.

Less could have been more

A stellar cast but half of them didn't need to be there, they just added to the overall confusion and difficulty of following what was going on (at least for me). Nonetheless I watched it all the way through.

Great movie

Fast paced, well acted (putting aside the dodgy Belfast accents), and surprisingly gritty.

I'm liking it
8 June 2020
6 episodes in over a weekend and it's held my attention. Sumptuous locations and well filmed. One criticism is that little effort has been made to show that it's set 10-12 years ago, the tech and so on looks mostly bang up to date to me. British Billions? Kind of.

Why no second series?
22 April 2020
Just watched this on catch-up, it took a couple of episodes to get into it, but by the end I loved it. Terrific ensemble cast. Deserved another series IMO.

Shame it's ended

Like most reviewers I nearly gave up at S6, didn't like the new gang at all, but by S8 it had improved considerably and I'm sorry that's the end of it. The final episode was edge of the seat stuff and not as predictable as it might have been.

Make this instead of Disco

After the departure of Jason Isaacs from Discovery they struck gold with Anson Mount as Pike. I couldn't really care less about the characters left in the main Discovery show, personally I would prefer to see more Pike/Spock/No.1 on the Enterprise and ditch the main Discovery.

Should have had a happy ending
18 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
As a Brit it was great to see 24 brought to London. The change of location injected some refreshment into the formula and it worked well. My only disappointment with this excellent season was the ending. We all knew this would likely be the last outing so why not give Jack and Audrey a happy ending?
