The Gilded Age (2022)
Still Watching and Waiting for More
Always takes a while for a series like this to introduce the characters and core structure and that is true here. What matters of course is if the audience is hooked enough to look forward to the next episode and this viewer certainly is.
The Kominsky Method (2018)
Best and most true comedy in years!
So good I am not binging so as to savor each episode.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Huge Fan of the Series - Loved this one!
Could not be more satisfied. As good as this sort of film can be and absolutely equals even the best of the earlier films.
The Farewell (2019)
Absolutely Delightful-Loved It
Clearly not a film everyone would like but for those familiar with the complications of contemporary Chinese-American cultural issues it is a delight. Funny and tragic often at the same time.
Jack Ryan (2018)
Worth Watching
Have read only a few of the books and watched all the movies. This series is well worth watching though it is quite uneven. But that was true of the books and movies as well. The effort to humanize the terrorists was interesting as well and if tedious at times generally worked.
Book Club (2018)
Absolutely Loved It
A wonderful combination of humor and real life issues associated with aging and loving
Winchester (2018)
Well Worth Watching
I have to admit I am not objective. I grew up very near the house and it literally haunts my own childhood memories. But having said that the story works, the mystery remains and the acting is first rate.
Magellan (2017)
Two for One!
This film really deserves two different reviews. First for Sci Fi fans it is a compelling effort that certainly keeps one watching. I really enjoyed it. But from the perspective of someone with some filmmaking experience it is extraordinary. An example of what can be accomplished with a very low budget that budding filmmakers will find very educational.
The Death of Stalin (2017)
Extraordinary
Easily one of the most fascinating films of the year and especially for those who know something of the era. Not because it is a real work of history which it is not but simple because it is so intellectually impressive as a work of art.
Beirut (2018)
Fascinating
Not only was it an excellent adventure but the basic plot lines were plausable enough even for those who follow Middle Eastern politics closely to sit back and enjoy.
