Like many have stated here...I'm surprised this movie's score is so low. I just think a lot of people don't get absurdist comedy. That being said, I would hazard a guess that the people who dislike this movie are the same people that hate the "Eric Andre Show" and vice versa. The guy who plays Pootie is fantastic and that's saying something in that he hardly says anything...anything intelligible anyway. The scene where everybody is going crazy to his song that is just well...nothing...is probably my favorite part. Anyway, if you haven't seen this flick check it out and bask in it's absurdist greatness.

People are really missing what this show is going for...

Most people seem to really dislike this show. And some very common sentiments seem to be that the audience is over the top/fake, the host is over the top hammy, etc. In essence the show is cringey. And you know what...aside from the cringey part...i agree, but what I think they're missing is that this is being done intentionally. The show is trying to create an atmosphere of a bygone time...and exaggerated at that. They're taking old time game shows and how they were presented and amping it up to 11. The audience reactions, especially, are supposed to be this way. The way they laugh or sigh is so over the top because the show is mocking and/or having fun with the idea of the "laugh track" or the sign at a game show that says "applause". That being said, I find it endearing and funny. Maybe I'm wrong, but I really think this show is going over a lot people's head. It's actually kind of a great deconstruction of the typical game show...especially the one's of the bygone days.
