Session 9 (2001)
what do you guys want????
29 January 2003
I can´t believe the low scores here. here you have an intelligent, creepy well-acted independent horror movie, with great plot twists & character development ( most horror films lack the latter ) and all you can do is rant and complain. I really enjoyed this one, it was a brilliant antidote to the mindless wanna-be horror romps like SCREAM et al. and please, don´t give me this " I knew it from the very beginning"- bulls**t" for I don´t believe you one second. If you´re that smart, you guys must really be geniuses & I seriously doubt that. for all the others out there who are afraid of the dark ( like myself ) check this out. 9/10

I beg your pardon!

just because steven spielberg´s name is on it doesn´t make it a good movie. the direction is uninspired, the plot weak and the acting...the ACTING: tom cruise is totally miscast as the troubled protagonist. he´s too much hollywood, too clean, his face stripped from each and every real emotion to be believable. his unability to express the pain of his character is the biggest flaw in this movie. think of real faces, william h. macy, steve buscemi, robert carlyle, edward norton etc...actors who are capable of suffering. but cruise is as clean as michael jacksons oxygen tent. and i really can´t believe that so many viewers fall for this clever, overhyped product pitch. wake up and smell the poison!

wonderful katrin cartlidge

i usually am not the sentimental type but when i heard of katrin cartlidges death, believe me, i burst into tears. we lost one of the most charismatic, talented and intense actresses ever and this film proves it. her enigmatic, scene-stealing presence can´t be matched. this film is as haunting as kerrigans debut CLEAN SHAVEN. that´s all there is to say about this original piece of work. and i can´t wait to see kerrigan´s new film IN GOD´S HANDS which is still in the making.

they don´t make movies like this anymore...

...and it´s a damn shame. DEADBEAT is one of the best action flicks ever, a rare gem. a simple plot, unknown actors, and mind-boggling fight scenes. it´s a pity that we lost jim van bebber to drugs, he would have been the new sam peckinpah.

Paranoid (I) (2000)
a big nothing
6 November 2002
as a huge fan of ewen bremner ( one of the most underrated actors of our time) I rented this and boy, was I sorry. I mean, nothing happens, the plot is weak, the dialogues range from terrible to stupid, character development doesn´t exist, and the acting is absolutely laughable. skip that!
