Steel Magnolias (1989)
A good damn reason to move to the South
Steel Magnolias is one of the best films i have ever seen. I am surprised that is is not in IMDb's top 250, and if it was it would be #7 at the most. This film is a wide range of comedy and drama. It has great performances by some of the most beautiful and most talented actresses including: Sally Feild, Dolly Parton, Olympia Dukakis, Shirly MacLaine, Daryl Hannah, and the lovely Julia Roberts.
The film is about a group of southern women who are the best of friends who all have different personalities. They use these personalities to get through life as one strong person. These personalities run from silly to sensitive and from sad to strong.
This film makes me want to move down south and find a wonderful women like one of those 6. I highly recommend this film.
The Haunting in Connecticut (2009)
the haunting that sucks
the haunting in Connecticut was a dumb and boring movie. although Virginia Madsen was outstanding, the movie still sucked. there were some touching moments in the film, and that made it OK to watch but if you take out those parts then the movie was a snooze fest. and while everyone else was jumping at the pop outs i was yawning. i do not recommend this film, but if your are a fan of true stories and Virginia Madsen then I guess you can rent it and be some what impressed. the editing of the flashbacks was horrible, it hurt my eyes. this film had no scary parts in it, they were cheasy and stupid. this film should not be considered horror, it should be considered supernatural drama.
Brothers & Sisters: Glass Houses (2008)
the first of the season
The first episode of Brothers and sisters was awesome. i strongly recommend seeing it. it had a great beginning and as well as a great ending, that left you in suspense. my favorite park was when Nora (Sally Feild) went into Holly's office (Patricia Wettig) and threw in here face that William Walker did have another child, a boy named Ryan, and that since that is true then that means Holly (Patricia Wettig) might be fired from the Walker family business.this scene left me and probably other viewers speechless. another thing i liked about this episode is that it focused more on Justin (Dave Annable) and Rebecca's (Emily VanCamp)relationship. i like the fact that the family now knows. this episode states that this season is going to be great.
Grey's Anatomy: Dream a Little Dream of Me: Part 1 (2008)
first of the season
The first episode of the new season of Greys anatomy was very well put. I like they way they left of right were they ended last season. the performances were great, even given by the three guest stars: Bernadatte Peters, Kathy Baker, and Mariette Hartley. the episode also had some thrilling and suspense parts, as usual, at the beginning when they made you think that Derek was dead. I know it scared me. And also at the end when after Izzy saw Alex and Ava together she had a flash back about Danny. "And hearing the no longer true statement that she was being killed off, i thought that that scene of her and Danny together meant that Izzy had killed herself. But a relief to my mind, it was just a flash back. I thought that this episode was worth watching and it makes it look like a start to another good season.
Monster (2003)
Monster
This film is the best of its year. Patty Jenkins is an awesome filmmaker. It makes Aileen Wornos look like a hero. Although there are some sexual parts that are not needed, it's still a great movie. The music effects are brilliantly made by composer BT. His music effects complete the movie. The ending is just phenomenal. It brings tears to your eyes the way you see Alieen(Chalize Theron) look at selby(Christina Ricci)and cry at her betrayal and love for her is just so heartbreaking. Charlize Theron's performance is outstanding. It is one of her best films. The makeup is done so well it's like the real Aileen Wornos is in the film. This film should be in the top 250 movies. It is and will be a great independent film of all time. I could watch this movie everyday. It's a must see film.
