August Rush (2007)

This was a good movie. I saw it at a special premiere screening for academy members only, in Burbank. The cast did a good job and so did the director. My favourite part of the movie was the soundtrack which is really, really good! I always enjoy movies where the actors actually sing the songs themselves (not just in musicals but actors in films such as Walk the Line, which is an amazing film). Music is obviously a very big part of this movie and carries it for the most part but when you consider the movie as a whole it feels a bit lacking in the story department. All of the performances are good and like I said they sing their own songs themselves and do it well. A solid effort.

Community (2009–2015)

Great Comedy!

Community is a fantastic comedy series. As far as recent comedy shows I think it ranks right up there with Arrested Development as one of the best modern comedy shows and even should be considered among the best comedy TV series of all time. Not saying it's at the very top but it does deserve consideration. A lot of people --- mostly older people --- will not get the kind of humor that is offered in this show. It's very off beat and surreal and introspective. The comedy mostly comes from the characters. Jeff Winger who is going back to an awful community college to re-earn his law degree after his employers found out that he didn't actually earn one in the first place and he was disbarred. The hippie chick Brita who is Jeff's romantic interest and who is into every vegan/peace/environmental/feminist cause that comes her way. Super pressured to succeed innocent girl Annie. The two wackiest characters of all are a football star in high school (same school as Annie) who isn't the brightest bulb in the box and a wannabe filmmaker named Ahmed who is constantly turning their everyday adventures into TV shows, often narrating them or taping them for his bizarre film class projects. An older super sweet Christian divorcée who tries to keep everyone together and everything harmonious, and Chevy Chase is back in his old hilarious form in a new role, as a full of himself, totally out of touch and inappropriately racist/sexist/elitist, pompous heir to a napkin fortune. The characters around them like the Dean and their Asian-American Spanish teacher are also great. Check this show out and you might not get it but if you do you will probably be immediately hooked like we were!

Con (2005– )

Boo!

Con is a terrible show. Why are they running it again? When I came on here to complain about it I figured it was just a bad new show and now I find out that it was on in like 2005? Maybe that helps explain why it seems old and unpolished but why on earth are they rerunning this again when judging by how bad the show obviously is and all the negative comments and votes here people obviously didn't like it so why are they rerunning this again? they should bring back new episodes or reruns of flight of the conchords or something else instead, or old kids in the hall or Monty python or sctv, comedy channel here in Canada just can't seem to get it together, all their shows suck.

I can't believe this show hasn't been cancelled yet, as bad as it has gotten over the past many years the last 2 to 3 years have been just pathetic! The cast is tired and old, by that I mean they are doing the same old characters and jokes. The writing is obviously terrible with really bad jokes you are probably already thinking of the punchlines for before they get to them on the show. They just have turned completely into Royal Canadian Air Farce and that should be very embarrassing for a show that once was so much better than that with sharp writing and a great cast that could do many characters and didn't keep doing the same things over and over. I am so tired of looking at these people on this show, they need new blood, new actors and definitely new writers too because these people obviously just don't care any more, but after 20 years or however long it's been who can blame them? They took forever to cancel Royal Canadian Air Farce so please CBC before it gets any worse cancel this show or replace everyone with new people who have new ideas!

The Night Listener (2006)

Good

I thought this movie would be a watch-once-and-discard, straight to DVD type video that I would probably regret watching. I got it for 99 cents at the almost empty Blockbuster that's going out of business on the corner, from the discount bin. Instead I was pleasantly surprised by a pretty good movie. It's not great by any means but it actually did keep me guessing, which I like because most movies are way too predictable. Because it's not a big Hollywood movie you know anything is possible, and you think you have it figured out but aren't quite sure. The acting is very good by everyone and especially Robin Williams who plays it pretty cool in this role. He is a pretty good actor in more dramatic and emotional stuff when he wants to be. This movie's worth seeing.

I Watched This

I wish they had it on TV. I loved it when I was a kid and my mom introduced me to it, I remember I hated Happy Days the real show but this animated show I loved for some reason and especially Fonzie. Fonzie could just punch things and make them work, etc, I remember I wanted a black leather jacket and slicked my hair down for Halloween and I used to try to fix stuff that was "broken" by punching it, like the TV. Really my dad would just turn it on when I punched it but it was fun. I wish I had pictures, I must have looked like a tool. Anyway this is turning into a thing about my life instead of the show but there's not much to say, like the other reviewer said it's just Happy Days for kids, with the same characters etc, just silly stories and adventures. Great show for family/kids.

Seriously, How'd This Get Renewed?!?!?!!

This is one of the worst shows on TV. I know that a lot of people were gaga over Corner Gas but this show just sucks! For one thing if they were going to do another show about Hank Yarbo from Corner Gas why not just keep doing Corner Gas instead? Because that show had other characters in it that were interesting and funny. Instead we have Hank Yarbo as Dan who runs for mayor despite the fact he's a drooling idiot to try to impress his ex-girlfriend. He's the same character! Also the other characters are all terrible and terribly acted, none of them are funny and the jokes are all terrible too. Wow what is coming to Canadian TV?

This show is so terrible that I am 100 percent sure that I am now stupider for having watched it at all. This show is so badly acted and written and awful in every possible way that I can't believe it actually was put on TV, it looks like the CBC just gave a few video cameras and 20 bucks for props to a group of idiots who thought they were funny and told them to make a show. Nothing on this show has ever been funny at all, the entire show is a waste of time and money and who is going to give me back the couple of hours I have wasted watching this show and trying to figure out how and why it made it onto TV? I hope that it is over and that they never rerun it again.

Arrested Development (2003–2019)

Awesome!

Arrested Development was an awesome show and I still can not believe that they would actually cancel such a great show as this. It won and deserved to win even more, tons of awards. It was the best comedy series I have seen on TV in a very long time and all the actors were perfect in their roles right down to just the small guest parts they would bring in, the style and narrative was awesome. I can't wait for the movie to come out but I'm afraid it won't be as good, other shows that got cancelled too soon like Futurama and Family Guy have been less good or even terrible since they came back so I hope the same thing does not happen to this brilliant TV show.

Patch Adams (1998)

Good

Patch Adams is a good movie and it is good for audiences of all ages, if you like Robin Williams you will probably get a kick out of this movie. It is dramatic like a lot of parts that Robin Williams has been playing for many years now in efforts to win awards etc instead of just doing crazy comedies, but there are also a lot of funny parts in it and the drama is not hitting you over the head too much even though it is about very serious subjects like sick kids who are passing away from terrible diseases. There are unexpected parts that I won't spoil and touching parts and also parts that are very funny, like Robin Williams talking with and entertaining the sick children.

Not Worth Watching

This show is very bad with some of the worst acting and writing I've ever seen on TV. The skits they do are all pretty much terrible. Some of the video quality is bad but a lot of it is also very good with good effects and titles etc. Editing is good. The main reasons this show is so awful is that the acting and writing are so awful it is just very amateur style skits where you can tell they think they're very funny but nobody would like what they are doing except them and their friends. The jokes are very bad and a lot of what they are doing just doesn't even make any sense at all. It is only a community TV show on Rogers TV but it is still bad even for that, they need to do better writing and acting or just scrap this and replace it with a better show.

Little Mosque on the Prairie (2007–2012)

I hate this show!

This show is just awful! The jokes are all pathetic and predictable it's as if this show was written by some kid in grade two who had a "101 Muslim jokes" joke book. And he/she just keeps re-using the exact same jokes again and again and again. The acting is some of the worst I have ever seen on TV. How do terrible shows like this keep getting made and put on TV and why is it so bad in Canada? Why do we keep having our tax dollars used to make shows like this where I don't know one person at all who even watches it? I hope that somebody just stops making Canadian TV at all if this is the crap they are going to keep making and spending our money on.

Thor (2011)

Worth Seeing

This movie is not as good as the comic but that is the case for almost every comic book based movie that I have ever seen. The main problem I have is with the main battle sequence that should have been the highlight of the whole movie and I guess it was but it really should have been a lot bigger and better, in the comic it was just mindblowing but it did not translate it to the big screen very well, it was not as action packed or mind blowing. The acting was pretty good for a movie like this. A lot of people thought it was stupid but I think this movie is intended more for fans of the comic like me, if you aren't familiar with the comic you will probably just think it is stupid, but why go see it if you think Thor is stupid anyway?

Popcultured (2005–2006)

Should not have existed

The show pop cultured should never have existed because there is no way anybody making any creative decisionsshould have looked at the idea for this show and said hey this looks like a good idea let's go ahead and make this show. And even hey if that didn't happen then when they were actually taping it they should have said no this show is too terrible to actually make and put on TV so let's pull the plug but they didn't do that either because this is a Canadian TV show and they don't care if it's any good at all just like everything else on this pathetic comedy network, so they made it anyway. Even after it was on nobody said gee this show is so bad and so completely hated by everyone who has seen it that we should just give up and let it die but they still didn't, and that is what is wrong with Canadian TV.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010)

Good but Not Great

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part one (man that is a freaking long title sheesh!) was a good movie but did not live up to all the hype for me. I saw it opening night with my harry potter crazy girlfriend and I have seen all the Harry Potter movies before and really enjoyed all of them (just not as much as her obviously ha!) but this one was a bit of a bore to me, I know it is apparently meant to just set up the part two movie coming out next year and it is supposed to be very all action but this one bored me sometimes with all the talk and the looking into the relationships of Ron/Hermione/harry potter. I think the next movie is going to be awesome for sure but this one was kind of boring to me and it also ruined the movie a bit that I watched it opening night and there were so many annoying kids screaming and wearing annoying costumes, trying to say the lines at the same time as the characters on the screen, etc, why do that?

According to my vote I am rating this show as awful and this is about what I feel is right for this show in fact I wish that somehow there was a way to rate this show even worse than awful why is it I can't rate this show as a zero out of ten instead of a 1 out of ten, that is the lowest possible rating for this show on IMDb but you know what, zero is also a number and it is more appropriate for a rating for this show because one of ten seems to be saying that at least something on this show was worth a positive rating, so zero should be an option here or maybe even negative numbers. I think the comedy network is terrible and this is probably the worst comedy network show I ever saw so I guess I agree with the other reviews here, it is amazing how much hate there is here for these terrible shows! I hope they stop making these bad shows but more important they should punish whoever made this show, the worst show I have ever seen.

Someone please cancel it.

I know it is already going to be canceled but why give it another season or half season or whatever? Get rid of it now.

It sucks.

It is less funny than any other show I can think of.

Who actually watches this train wreck of a show? The people on it are untalented hacks.

The writing is even worse.

I hate the CBC because of awful shows like this, where are the good shows CBC?

Please someone for the love of all that is good fire everyone at the comedy network and replace them with people who actually have a basic understanding of what is funny.

I would list all the pathetic shows they have aired over the years--pretty much every single show they've made in their entire existence--but it would really take too long.

When did it become OK to make nothing but awful shows year after year? Does anyone know anyone who willingly watches this fish vomit? Why is it my cable package comes with like three channels I want but also the comedy network so I either have to choose between not being able to see my favorite cable channels or I get to see my favorite cable channels but it means I unwillingly have to--as part of the package--give a portion of that money to support this pathetic channel? Someone fire the entire decision making team at comedy network because everyone knows they have no idea what they're doing except apparently them.
