Lucky Louie (2006–2007)

Real laughs, Real Jokes, real Robes

The pilot premiered last night and although I enjoyed it I have the distinct feeling it will only get better. The setup of characters was excellent and I am anxious to see how Louie interacts with his neighbor, his daughter, his wife, and friends. The character Rich (drug dealer) did not have much of a part but his abrasiveness and flow of curses was as smooth as broth flowing into a bowl. I do not wish to give out spoilers (although it has already premiered) I would definitely put this down as a watch (or TIVO) On the plus side being sandwiched between Entourage and Dane Cook's Tourgasm is perfect placement I'm sure it will be a hit. I will definitely be sitting down to watch this. The hook is set in this critic's mouth.

watch this and show it t others

When this mini series came out it was interrupted by the terrorist attack on NYC. In fact it was 2 days before. The first two episodes (they were run back to back) were compelling, so compelling in fact on September 13th I went into Brooklyn to join up (bad knees and back prevented me from avenging my friends deaths.)

More recently I have been re-watching the series on HBO on Demand. I realized that this show was not pro-war or anti-war (for the most part) but more to show brotherhood between men. I say for the most part because part 9 is enough reason for war.

Again go see this, rent it, own it. Show it to friends and family. Even the kids (when you think they can handle the gore.) It is important for the next generation to know what the greatest generation really meant.

The End (except for Spin-Off Movies)

The "Last" Stand? X-Men 3 was an excellent movie visually and storyline wise, but being around so many self-described "Comic book geeks" they have led me to believe that since they deviated from the original storyline (there's one?) This movie should be blasted. I will not go into spoilers but with the twists and turns this movie took a lot of things were quite different then what should have happened. I enjoyed the movie but was a little unhappy at the fact that in the trailers that were shown on TV, in the movies, and on the internet the one scene I was waiting for was in the beginning and not part of the end. Of course it was Wolverine surrounded by flames trying to light a cigar. (Cool) The absence of the large robots used to subdue mutants was another point that made me unhappy as well. Plus where is Gambit? Go see the movie but wait to buy it when the special edition DVD comes out.
