Alien vs. Predator (2004)

the heretic, all film prints should be burned!!!!

Who the hell thought of bringing the comic book spin off to the screen? I mean the comics are rubbish! And this movie........!!!! The creation of what I'm sure will become a series of AVP outings completely destroys the Alien mythology, (forget the predator, it's rubbish) The dialogue in this movie is rubbish as is the effects, the alien, a smart calculating race, is "dumbed" down in AVP to become the game sport of the Predator aliens, with an Alien queen chained up in a egg laying chamber.

As the first Alien film established that humans did not come into contact with this race until far into the future, it makes this movie very hard to swallow, and who decided to give the predators personalities of the care bears? In all a bitter disappointment, but hopefully with the renewed interest in the Alien movies, perhaps an Alien 5 will be on the cards, with or without Sigorney Weaver?

Claws (1977)

A interesting varient on Jaws

Okay, this movie was only ever made to cash in on the huge hit Jaws, it's name alone makes this very clear. But for those who haven't seen this seventies rarity, I highly recommend it.

I was surprised to find that a similar Bear flick called Grizzly got a DVD release in the states and this did not, but who knows, with the absence of a decent DVD back cataloque worldwide, no doubt someone somewhere will by up the rights and put it on general release again.

If you can catch this on TV like I have may times, make sure you watch it, it's not scary, but very enjoyable!

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life (2003)

Well worth the wait!!

The success of the first Tomb Raider movie is noted and swiftly

came this sequel. I'm usually not in for rushed sequels but i made

an exception. This movie was fantastic, the story was more

interesting, the relationships and dilemas of Lara were more

pronounced, and the general feel of the movie was more

established, as we didn't have to "get to know" lara like in the first

movie.

Sadly though, this movie received very little promotion, here at

home there was hardly any advertising, so box office figures will no

doubt be low, but they shouldn't be viewed as the movie's failure to

entertain.

I hope Tomb Raider 3 appears soon, Angelina Jolie is a fab

actress, she's young and beautiful and exactly what cinema

needs!

If you haven't seen it yet, go and see it now!

The Stepford Children (1987 TV Movie)

A chilling beginning to an ignored spin-off franchise

You may have serious doubts about watching the third sequel to The Stepford Wifes, but this is an absolute classic. Much scarier in premise than the first, and very entertaining. It only got a video release here in the UK, but should be released worldwide for everyone to enjoy.

Prom Night III: The Last Kiss (1990)

Classic Canadian Horror

I love movies that spawn sequels, though the original prom night movie was'nt really that good, at least it spawned a series of entertaining sequels.

PN3 is a very entertaining movie, it has humour, gory effects and a great selection of canadian actors who we have seen later in their careers in movies and tv.

Forget what you have read about the prom Night series and this movie in particular, rent or buy and an enjoy, perfect hallowen night viewing

Shark Attack 2 (2000 Video)

More please

Having seen both Shark Attack movies, SA2 is way better than the lazy and plodding first. The tension is neatly controlled and although the effects at times are dodgy, it is still an entertaining movie. Highly recommended.
