Papá a la Deriva (2015)
Entertaining ... re-broadcast in 2020!
Due to the pandemic, Mega began broadcasting "Papá a la Deriva" this 2020. This TV series is very funny, it has such funny characters that it makes it fresh and fun like Esmeralda (Li Fridman), Diego (Renato Jofré), Bárbara (Francisca Walker) and Rosario (Francisca Imboden). In addition, it has romantic couples with a lot of chemistry such as that of the protagonists Bruno (Gonzalo Valenzuela) with Violeta (María Gracia Omegna), Camila (Fernanda Ramírez) and Cristóbal (Simón Pesutic) and Esmeralda and Diego, the location in Valparaíso makes a difference with the other Mega TV series. The music is also pleasant and fresh, especially the song "Por ti" by the Colombian Jeloz. I think that the Mega channel was right to repeat it since it has given it good results in rating, it shows that people want to see something light and fun while they are locked in their houses due to the pandemic. Recommended for those who want to see something nice and not think much.
Cola de Mono (2018)
Cristóbal Rodríguez Costabal is the movie
This movie is a hodgepodge of misguided ideas. Filled with cliches. There is not a good development to be able to connect with the characters, especially with the mother. The only good thing about the film is the music and Cristóbal Rodríguez Costabal (Borja) who made a very good performance since he is not a professional actor, the only thing that kept me captive to the film was him, since the film became endless and halfway through I wanted it to end. It shows too much Alberto Fuguet got excited with him and that's why he gave him the main character. Alberto Fuget should thank him for being the only good thing about his movie. 5/10
I like gore movies and this one was reputed to be extreme. But it is very bad. The protagonists and their decisions throughout the film are stupid. Actresses' performances are appalling and unbelievable, especially in torture scenes. There is the typical absurdly indestructible villain. I thought the movie would be more grotesque, but I even found it soft, except for a couple of scenes. Something positive is the music. I do not recommend it.
Juegos de Poder (2019)
This is a great teleserie. The plot changes made it unpredictable. Augusto Schuster made his best character with 'Benjamín Bennet' so far, making a psychopathically complex character and differentiating himself from his previous roles, demonstrating by far the excellent actor he is, ending stealing the TV series.
Verdades Ocultas (2017)
I like VO <3
I like it because it is different from everything that had been done before in Chile. Because they have known how to keep entertaining by constantly removing and placing actors to put new plots. Also because it has "weird" stories that may seem incredible. Not for nothing after years and almost 1000 chapters, people continue to watch it, making it almost daily the most watched show in the country.
Pacto de Sangre (2018)
The TV Series is good, but VERY overvalued by its fans, many chapters were very slow and NOTHING happened, I think there are much better Chilean TV series like "El Señor de la Querencia", "Machos", "Cerro Alegre", among other. Their fans also overvalue Netflix, always saying that the series is perfect for Netflix, but Netflix is not synonymous of quality. In addition the scenery is one of the worst of Channel 13 of the last decade. I highlight the great performances of Ignacia Baeza and Néstor Cantillana, and the return to the direction of Cristián Mason. 6/10
Alguien Te Mira (2007)
The first of the trilogy!
"Alguien te Mira" (2007) is the first nighttime TV series of TVN's Golden Trilogy, together with "El Señor de la Querencia" (2008) and "Donde está Elisa?" (2009), it is worth watching the 3 productions, all of them excellent and with almost the same cast, TVN with this teleserie innovated in the genre, betting on the thriller and this gave them very good results in rating, not for nothing they repeated this formula without stopping in other productions, even Telemundo did a remake, although to my taste nothing compares with the original product, here I highlight the performance of Álvaro Rudolphy, who did one of his best performances of his career, role that until Today is remembered by many viewers, 10/10.
Good movie, bad ending...
This film is good, funny, although the plot is almost a copy of Rosemary's Baby, Daniela Ramirez in the lead role does a very good job, very credible, the bad thing about this movie is its absurd ending, very badly concluded and fast , another important flaw of the film is the terrible performance of the actress Aida Jabolín who plays the role of the Filipina nanny, my vote 7/10.
I think the Chilean scriptwriters have good ideas but bad development of scripts, they do not know how to maintain a good plot, they do not know how to create good dialogues that make us stick to the screen, a clear example of that deficiency is this film.
Nothing happens, many silences, the general plot is good but VERY wasted, scarce script, the main actress very badly chosen, the dubbing of some characters take away the naturalness of the performances, I expected more.
Chipe Libre (2014)
Good production, weak script.
"Chipe Libre" is about a couple who take the decision to separate for a while. The actors do a good performance, the atmosphere is good and the music composition too, but the script is very basic, good base but very weak development, the writers were unable to take advantage of the script and the characters.
I think Channel 13 wanted to make a new "Soltera otra vez" but did not give them results. The copy will not beat the original, but still there are some redeemable things.
The silver lining: - Carolina Varleta (excellent performance as the crazy woman, very funny) -Mario Horton (the best male character to my taste, looked more sexy than ever as the boxer Franco, very good his performance) -Loreto Aravena (initially I did not like much, but then his character became one of the best, very funny too) - Luciana Echeverria (very nice change compared to what she has done previously in his career). -Bonus: Felipe Pinto (very very very handsome, one of the most handsome Chilean actors of the last time, but here the producers squandered that).
My vote 6/10
Teen Wolf (2011)
I started watching Teen Wolf the last year, by the popularity it had in internet. It began as a teen series but with the passage of the seasons became more and more obscure and interesting (especially the second part of season 3) the first part of season 3 was very confusing and full of rare words and complicated stories.
It has some good performances for such a young and almost inexperienced cast, secondary and guest characters are stealing the attention and affection several times more than the protagonists themselves. The male cast is the hottest of any series that I've seen before and that is a big plus, was necessary an action series on TV where we could also recreate the view at the same time. The side less good of the series: some pop songs that put in some scenes I do not like much and some issues are not treated in depth (like the death of important characters or skills from one chapter to another managed as if they were experts).
But go with what's important, because despite the above what most rescued from the series is the character of Stiles Stilinski played by the brilliant actor Dylan O'Brien, I plead absolutely fans of him, he is amazing, he is the true protagonist of the story, he has an amazing charisma on screen, comes to overshadow Tyler Posey in his lead role of werewolf (his character started very well but was gradually losing charisma with the passing of the seasons, I like how he does too but against Stiles looks minimized).
The only bad thing is that Stiles will never have a relationship with Derek (the gay characters in this series are terrible, they have no importance in the plot).
Thanks to MTV for discover this actor and make him known to the world.
Sudamerican Rockers (2014)
The Best Chilean TV Series of 2014!
Sudamerican Rockers is the best TV mini-series made in Chile, the series is about the beginning of the musical group called "Los Prisioneros".
Sudamerican is very different than what the Chilean television shows commonly within the range of the local series (those with 1 chapter per week), it is fun, has good performances, good covers, good direction, good dialogues and is generally well done. I think it's much better than the BORING series "Los 80" (which only their first seasons were good, now makes me sleep).
The leading trio is doing very well and even they sing a lot like the original band, nothing like the movie "Miguel San Miguel" that was RUBBISH, Jorge Gonzalez of that movie was a shame he did not even reach the heels of Jorge of this TV series (nor acting, nor singing).
Seeing what is done in Chile, I have only praise and nothing to criticize. Actually the only bad thing is that apparently will have only one season.
AGUANTE LOS PRISIONEROS !!!
Verbotene Liebe (1995)
Christian & Oliver
Years ago I came to this story thanks to youtube (and I think several of us arrived in the same way), because of the technology today we can see fiction from various countries. I remember it was not my intention to start watching it, just happened one day when I was sailing on the internet. I started watching the clip 1 subtitled in Spanish, then 2, then 3, then 4 and then I got addicted, I saw all the videos I could for that night, as more chapters passed more interesting the show was done, I could not stop watching the series because the story was SPECTACULAR.
Christian and Oliver were the perfect couple, I never saw in a movie or television such a nice couple like this, the actors did an excellent job, they were completely surrendered to his characters, I do not regret having seen almost 500 clips that are on youtube, I stand up and applaud the Germans for creating such good stories like this (because I know it is not the only one of this style).
My vote is obviously a 10 for Christian and Oliver, for all those sleepless nights, for hours of fun, for that passion on screen, for making us part of the story and because THEY ARE THE BEST GAY COUPLE ON FICTION OF ALL TIME.
Gatas & Tuercas (2005)
A very good romantic comedy.
"Gatas & tuercas" was released in 2005 by Channel 13, the series is about a group of mechanics. Although that's the story in general, what I liked most was the main love story starring Carolina Varleta (Olivia / Miranda) and Diego Muñoz (Joaquin / Jote), the couple was excellent, put them together it was a very good decision, they achieved a very high on-screen chemistry, he was a womanizer and she a shy woman who unwittingly becomes a famous radio announcer. They had already been a couple earlier in the mini-series "Más que amigos" and had shared roles in "Machos" and "Tentación" but here they looked very well together and managed to highlight a lot, I think so far have been one of the best pairs of Chilean TV. From here Carolina Varleta started becoming one of my favorite actresses.
Besides them I want to highlight the performance of the spectacular Paola Giannini, that although at first her character was not outstanding, with spent chapters became one of the most important personages, the villain of the story, but at the same time loved by all in an excellent performance. I also emphasize the interpretation of Berta Lasala as Melany, the gracious maid, in my opinion this is the best role of her so far.
The series in general has that touch of Brazilian productions, good cast, good story, funny and not boring at any time, with the special touch of the director Herval Abreu (one of the few good directors - or the only - that exist in the Chilean TV).
My vote is 10.
La Ofis (2008)
This series (remake of The Office) was issued in 2008 by Channel 13, but at that time I could not see it because due to the bad rating they moved at a very bad time (almost the 2 a.m.).
I saw it on youtube and I loved it, I never found Luis Gnecco a very good actor, but here I was surprised, I laughed out loud, it was a perfect performance, I think that he has never acted better. The rest of the cast very well in their roles, I am surprised that several of them never returned to acting on television.
I recommend it completely, 10 stars.
PD: sorry for my bad English.
Vuelve Temprano (2014)
I saw "Vuelve Temprano" from the beginning when it was issued in the summer of this year by TVN and I became addicted to the passing of the chapters, the first episodes were very very good, the story is about a young boy (Ignacio) who died after going to a party and all his loved ones become suspects in his murder.
Emphasize the performance of Amparo Noguera as Ignacio's mother, Viviana Rodríguez as the envious and fiery aunt, Andrea Velasco (or Dení) the vulgar pimp, Santiago Tupper (or Jan) the villain of the story, but mostly I want to emphasize the hero of the story: Carvacho.
The detective Carvacho was THE CHARACTER of the series, it started as a small role but with the passage of time it became a kind of protagonist, he was the most loved by the public and went to the top of my list as my favorite personage of the actor Matías Oviedo.
The story began as a plane, is lost in the development of the plot, when it reaches the climax is better than ever to finish in a dismal and forgettable end.
Only recommended for those who are fans of the thriller and mystery.
La Sexóloga (2012)
Entertaining ... but only that.
This TV series is fun, but only that, that is undeniable.
It is about a man addicted to sex and the problems he is having episode after episode for his "disease".
The story is simple and full of sex, with many minor characters, is almost a sitcom.
About the only reason I had to see this complete series was for Tiago Correa and his nude scenes, the character was perfect for him.
In Chile it was bad, so bad it was that had to be changed schedule from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am.
For Tiago + nights of leisure: I give 7 stars.
Las Vega's (2013)
I'm sexy and I know it
Las Vega's is a series of Channel 13, which is not yet over, but that some things can be highlighted from now...
The good news: the interesting story of the world of the vedettos, theme never before treaty in a Chilean series, beautiful men to recreate the view lol, the great chemistry between some couples like the Vicho & Mariana, Pedro & Antonia, Coto & Magdalena. The great performance of some actors such as: Catalina Guerra, Cristobal Tapia-Montt, Lorena Bosch, Mario Horton, María Jose Bello and Álvaro Gómez. Good music with groups like Garbage, Good Charlotte, Guns N' Roses, Joan Osborne, among others. Josefina Montané great change compared to his previous character (the flexible on "Soltera otra vez"). The return to channel 13 of the ever beautiful Sandra O'Ryan (although special guest) being the undisputed protagonist of the productions of the channel during the Decade of the 1990s.
The bad: the choice of the main character, Francisca Imboden never convinced me in its leading role (Catalina Guerra should be the protagonist). The boring leading loving trio, the character without importance of Héctor Morales, the detestable character of Lorena (Anotnella Orsini).
My vote: 8/10.
At 10 years of Machos
10 years ago which aired the first episode of "Machos" series that revolutionized throughout Chile, and I must say that since then no other Chilean TV series made me to like as much as this one.
A great cast as not seen today in the Chilean series, with more than 50 actors, the mixture between them was very good, some stable of Channel 13, others from Mega, others come from its direct competition (TVN ), some beginners, and others who had no work on television for quite some time. Emphasize the performance of Héctor Noguera (Ángel), the "return" of the great Carolina Arregui (Sonia) and the great revelation to me that year Carolina Varleta (Kiara).
The Mercaders family life is still remembered in Chile, and that's because the show is very well done, addresses many issues that to this day are contingent, and not for nothing that this year returns the romantic couple Adán and Fernanda after 10 years, but this time in the night series of TVN: "Socias".
Too bad that after 2006, channel 13 has not been repeated, I should do a tribute after these 10 years!
My note: obviously 10 stars.
O Clone (2001)
The best Brazilian series of all time
I love this series, is the best television series that has been done in latinomarica, simple as that. The performances are perfect, credible, too real, especially highlighting the actors Murilo Benicio (Lucas / Leo / Diogo), Giovanna Antonelli (Jade) and Débora Falabella (Mel), among others.
The music is perfect, the songs in Spanish and Arabic very well selected, the scenery is spectacular, the shots are majestic, the issues it addresses as the clash of cultures and drug problems were well tackled.
In conclusion, it was worth seeing the 250 chapters, indeed, when repeated on television here in Chile saw it again complete.
My vote: 10 star.
I loved this short. Luchito in love with his neighbor (Pedro Campos ufff hahaha) in Chilean dictatorship era, that is the main plot of the story and although I did not live in that time I felt very identified with the protagonist's life and what happened to me when I was his age.
Idenficable history but with a very sad ending (I was not very comfortable with that, why Luchito indifference?), although that detail is the first Chilean gay short I see (i do not think that there are more) and I enjoyed it, it's one of my favorites, the song of Gloria Benavides also gives a special touch. If you have the chance to see it then do it.
My vote: 10 stars.
Yesterday ended "Maldita", and I have to say it's the weirdest teleserie I've seen in my life.
Inspired in case of the psychopath Maria del Pilar Perez, it was hoping that it was a serious thriller, but it was everything opposite, the unique thing that produced me they were laughs.
Lorene Prieto finally after a lot of time had a leading role and was saying in the press that she was remaining exhausted with her personage, but before she had never been so overacted, in the beginning she was loading me but I ended up by liking her action performance, ended up being a cult television series !!! Another point they were the scripts at the expense of Mateo Iribarren, illogical, absurd, sometimes simple, entertaining and ridiculous inside a series that was trying to be serious.
The music very badly chosen and in places very badly positions, situations and scenes that had never before seen on Chilean television, as when Raquel made eat excrement to her husband or when she was getting sexually excited with the money, and many other scenes made Raquel a memorable character.
Lamentably for the producers and lucky for us (I believe it) the result that they wanted was everything opposite, but thanks to it I enjoyed through.
If you are depressed, sad or just want to laugh non-stop, have to see this! 10 of 10 stars for make me happy every night hahaha.
New, fresh, innovative, addictive, freak and fierce!
This is the first TV series is done in Chile about werewolves. Chilean viewers generally are not used to seeing on free TV, science-fiction series. That's why "Feroz" does not change much in audience from the first chapter to its end (about 1,000,000 viewers per episode, one of the lowest for channel 13). But I loved since the beginning of promotional spots to the last chapter.
The combination of the cast is excellent from the consecrated (Cristián Campos, Carolina Arregui), the TV series newcomers (Manuela Martelli, Tomás Verdejo), new faces (Mayte Rodríguez, Simon Gelcich), which come from other channels (Patricia Lopez, Lorena Bosch) to regular actors.
Highlight the performance of María José Bello in the role of Monse, who along with Ignacio Garmendia (Leo) achieved incredible chemistry, so Manuela Martelli (Amanda) was completely overshadowed in the course of story. Like them, Blanca Lewin (Ángela) and Mario Horton (Pablo) also had a good chemistry on screen making them one of the best couple in the series.
The story is good, has many twists, from episodes devoted exclusively to the full moon (the best chapters of the series), assumptions dead return to life, others are turning into werewolves, others die, and as in any soap opera, here there are also love stories. In addition, the final was spectacular, one of the best I've seen.
Another plus about the series was the music, with groups like: Reik, Javiera Mena, Jessy & Joy, Muse, Hard-Fi, and my favorites Gustavo Cerati, Koko Stambuk.
The mixture of all these things make an interesting TV series, if you like stories: fast, rare, unexpected, mysterious, and also well acted then you have to go see it.
10 of 10 for this ferocious series.
El Señor de la Querencia (2008)
One of the best Soap Opera I have ever seen !!!
Extraordinary!!! I never saw a soap opera like this, people who likes "gore" like me, enjoy every chapter of this show from the 20s...
Although the show is about old times, shows topics as lesbianism (Herminia & Lucrecia, very sad history), despotism, abortion, relationship between employers and workers, etc...
A great cast, excellent performances, with unusual characters and extreme situations make this show addictive and impossible to stop seeing each chapter.
10 of 10 to this excellent series.
