Star Wars: The Bad Batch: The Harbinger (2024)
A certain contingent of people will love this episode but...
A major character from the clone wars era returned this episode: the separatist assassin, Asajj Ventress. Sporting a new look and a new philosophy Ventress, a much like antagonist from The Clone Wars, shows up to confront Omega and The Bad Batch.
She's not actually showing up for no reason, she's the Intel that Fennec promised in the previous episode.
On first watch, this is kind of cool but thinking about it more it just doesn't really make sense or add anything to the story.
Ventress shows up, "tests" Omega's aptitude with the force and doesn't really say much about the intel she's supposed to give on the Empires search for M-Count.
So at the end of the episode, we don't know if Omega is truly force sensitive or not, The Bad Batch don't know why the Empire want her for her M-Count (although a viewer might do depending on what shows/movies they've seen and what Lore they know) and we don't know if Ventress has turned up for a one off appearance or she will show up again.
Basically, this episode does nothing to progress the story along at all, it's just a cool little filler episode to see Ventress again.
--- rewatched, revised rating to a 6/10.
