Sense & Sensibility (2024)
Fun and elegant movie by Hallmark
Sense and Sensibility offers a visual feast with its exquisite costumes and gorgeous scenery, . The meticulous attention to detail in the wardrobe transports the audience to the regency era, enhancing the immersion into this classic tale.
What sets this version apart is its commendable commitment to diverse casting. The inclusion of a diverse ensemble breathes fresh life into the familiar narrative, challenging traditional norms and providing a more inclusive representation of society. This decision adds a layer of authenticity to the adaptation, making it more relatable and resonant with contemporary audiences.
Beyond the visual and casting achievements, Sense and Sensibility succeeds in capturing the essence of Austen's exploration of love, class, and societal norms. The film navigates the delicate balance between sense and sensibility, humor and poignancy, creating a well-rounded emotional journey for the audience.
Bridgerton (2020)
✨Brilliant ✨
Beautiful sets, gorgeous costumes and each actor was brilliant. My favourite was Lady Danbury whose regal imperious nature stole every scene. I can see why this is the #1 show on Netflix and it inspired me to read Julia Quinn's books.
The Equalizer: True Believer (2021)
Brilliant timely episode
The plot point about domestic terrorists and what drives them was very timely and well written. Queen Latifah continues to portray a tough bad ass very well while still showing warmth and humanity with her team and family.
The Equalizer: Lifeline (2021)
Great episode
Another great episode, and very different from the others as the team uses alternative methods to help the victim. The interaction with the team and the alternate story line with the family add up to an enjoyable show.
The Equalizer: The Milk Run (2021)
Great episode
Another well written episode with action, humour and plot twists. Queen Latifah is rocking this role.
The Twilight Zone: The Wunderkind (2019)
Brilliant Mirror
A brilliant and timely premise to show the Twilight Zone of current times. Brilliantly acted and written.
The Spanish Princess: The New World (2019)
Great show, not a documentary
Gorgeous cinematography, settings and costumes. Lead actress, Charlotte Hope, in title role is spirited and fun to watch. The rest of the cast is interesting especially Stephanie Levi-John, The Black lady in waiting whose character is based on the real-life African retinue that Catherine brought to England.
