Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
A feel good movie if you will
I quite liked Crazy rich Asians and I find myself rewatching it often. What I love most is that it represents both Asians succeeding and Asians struggling. In this movie it talks about struggling and succeeding economically, romantically and even socially. Rachel is being brought to a whole new world, a new class and a new part of the world. She struggles a lot to fit in and to act "right". The movie represents Chinese culture in such a beautiful way, for example with clothes, song and environment. Not only chinese culture but Singaporean and other ethnicities like of the hokkien people. The end of the movie can represent life with a simple game. Nice movie Overall.
Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
A rewatch, truly
The story of the fantastic mr fox is surprisingly a kids movie, I found it surprising at least because as someone older than a kid I found myself relating tremendously to that "sly" fox. It made me realise that kids movies do make me think. The scene where mr fox and his wife were by the "rain" really spoke to me. "If people aren't intimidated by my intelligence, I don't feel good about myself" is a fantastic (get it) quote that reflects many of his attempts at impressing everyone in the movie. Does it work without fail? Cannot say, you'll just have to watch the movie to find out yourself. Yet another great Wes Anderson movie!
BoJack Horseman (2014)
Best show (argue with a wall)
Bojack Horseman is a compelling show even though it doesn't seem like it, all you are watching at first is an old horse that got his fame from a show in the 90's. But bojack horseman himself and what has made him (talking about his parents) is what made me love it the most. Of course the other characters like Todd or Diane add such importance to the show and knowing them too. You get to walk through what Bojack does to these people , good or bad and you get to feel certain feelings. I have one favourite episode of which I'm sure is a favourite for others too, the Free Churro episode s5 e6. I can't say what it is about exactly because of spoilers but bojack is talking straight for about 21-23 minutes, in no shape or form did it get boring or tiring. It kept getting more interesting. I watch that episode from time to time and I will never ever get tired of it. It is truly an amazing because Bojack takes his feelings out in the open. The ending of the episode adds the funny comedic sentiment to the show which is also great.
Watch this show!
