OMG 2 (2023)
4/10
Dissapointed
6 September 2023
To be honest, I'm not a fan of passing judgment on Indian cinema, especially when it's shown here in Australia. I decided to watch OMG 2 instead of Gadar 2 and Dream Girl 2 solely because of Pankaj Tripathi.

However, as a movie buff, I think I should share an honest review as unfortunately I was quite disappointed. I would give this movie a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. It lacked any sort of gripping storyline and was not entertaining; in fact, it was rather annoying at times. It felt like the comedy was forced into the scenes just to make them funny.

Furthermore, I couldn't help but notice the striking similarities between this film and PK. Some dialogues seemed almost identical. While the subject of the movie had potential, it was not executed well. And the end, bhaisahab don't know how it got ended up and left me wondering what just happened!

All I can say is, please don't set your expectations too high. OMG was far superior in comparison.

P. S. - Despite this experience, I will still continue to watch Hindi cinema whenever it comes to Melbourne.

Binge watch!
13 August 2023
If your genre is thriller, then you absolutely have to watch this movie! It's a masterpiece from 2002, so this review is for those who haven't yet watched it. Cheers!

Let me tell you, this is one of the best thrillers I've seen. Colin Farrell steals the show with his captivating performance. It's incredible how a single phone call can completely change the course of someone's life. Throughout the film, you'll find yourself glued to that singular phone booth. It keeps you hooked from start to finish. Edge of my seat the whole movie. Trust me, it's truly an amazing movie.

Must recommended! It is binge watch.

Review : Streaming on Hoichoi!

Anirban Chakrabarti will be seen in absolutely different role. He played an ordinary middle class man who has ended up this story extraordinarily.

His natural acting and infectious smile left the audience in awe.

Biswanath Basu compliment Anirban's character.

Overall quite good series.

Sreya Bhattacharya, A lady who has just said a word in the whole series, played her role flawlessly.

Director Joydeep Mukherjee has done tremendous research about middle class daily lives. You will get an exact flavour of it. The story has many layers. Emotional aspects was quite intense.

I felt it went little slow which was not much engaging.

Absolutely recommended.

Nikhonj, a captivating Bengali web series directed by Ayan Chakraborti , was released on August 11th in Hoichoi. We were fortunate enough to watch it on the day of its release, and it truly set the bar high for Bengali thrillers. From start to finish, it had the audience on the edge of their seats, with well-crafted plots and a perfect pace.

Let's talk about the performances. Swastika Mukherjee absolutely nailed it, and it was a pleasure to see her portray such a strong-willed character after such a long time. Her acting will keep you hooked until the very end.

Saoli Chattopadhyay captivates the audience with her natural and seamless acting. She effortlessly grabs your attention and leaves a lasting impression.

Although Tota Roy Chowdhury had limited screen time, he managed to make a significant impact with his performance.

Overall, Nikhonj is a series that comes highly recommended. We are eagerly awaiting the release of season 2.

Must watch for an unexpected performance of SONAKSHI SINHA
16 May 2023
Dahaad, Streaming in Prime Video.

I just can't even think of telling about anything before Sonakshi Sinha's part. It has to be Sonakshi Sinha's career changing performance just like Alia Bhatt in Raazi, Kriti Shanon in Mimi some unexpected performances. She just nailed in her first ever series. I can't even imagine someone better than her who could have acted soo flawlessly with uncomparable hariyanvi accent throughout. She definitely deserves recognition.

Now coming to the series, It's a must must watch show. Honestly I was not sure about it initially. But with course of time(from epi 2), it just became so engaging that we binge watched the whole series of 8episodes in one shot. The storyline was 10 on 10, some real issues was shown, direction, casting, blending of every episodes each and everything was so effortlessly done. It was a slightly slow show but would keep you in suspense and thrill throughout.

Vijay Varma, never dissapointed his audiences. Just like Darling, he too killed the show. Must mention Gulshan Devaiah, Soham Shah everyone was just perfect.

Recommended.

Want to watch something casual, then go for this!
13 May 2023
To Hoichoi - We pay for your platform so I think somewhere it becomes your responsibility to bring up some good content.

Review - I rate this 4 just because I found it pretty decent and I could see some old faces. This is Streaming on Hoichoi. It has (6) six episodes.

The storyline needed more research, no gripping found, not engaging too like how a thriller should be.

I love reviewing, so experiencing a not so good piece is also OK to watch. But i felt sad as my Saturday noon has gone with this!

If you wanted to watch something casual, not something which is brainstorming, then go for this.

Cheers!

Profile (I) (2018)

Freaking Internet!!
7 April 2023
I was searching for some spine chilling thriller. Profile, it astonishes me that a movie set entirely on a laptop screen can be in any way entertaining and terrific. It is based on a true story. At first thought that I would get bored but it was more scary, engaging than expected. Its quite chilling terrifying.

An intense film that gets more and more frustrating as it goes on, but you just can't look away. I loved the way it gave us the idea on how easy it is to know about everything about a person through skyping. Also you need to analyze and should more cautious on whom to trust who you talk in internet. Such a engaging & high paced movie. Am sure it must be much more scary in real life.

Lost (I) (2022)
5/10
Good performance and a bit stretched movie.
2 March 2023
Lost is directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. After Pink, he directed this thriller piece. The movie is a bit stretched, it feels like as if a short film is stretched to 2hrs movie. Well, you would get to see Kolkata, also sometimes you would get the flavour of Kahani but soul of two movies were so different that you would get bored while trying to compare. The movie has its politics and other aspects but not much engaging. Direction couldn't hold back the audience. The scenes were going so fast that couldn't be understood well.

In terms of performance, you would see Yami Gautam as the lead role gets into the skin of a crime reporter effortlessly. She always picks good scripts for sure. Beside Pankaj Kapoor played terrific.

You can watch it at your own risk.

Dakghor (2023)
10/10
Don't miss it!!
1 March 2023
You might feel that its been copied from the blockbuster series Panchayat, which is not true in actual. It is heard that dakghor has been scripted far before panchayat released.

Anyways coming to the core, this is a feel good series which has been beautifully directed by Abhrajit Sen and written by Padmanabha Dasgupta. It is so heart warming show.

The Cinematography, Shaan is amazing and so is the cast. The lead, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay is brilliant. Kanchan Mullick and Ditipriya Roy both played terrific. Korak Samanta played equally well.

This has taken the bengali series to the next level. Highly recommended!

Uunchai (2022)

Strongly recommended to watch it!!!
6 January 2023
Movie Name : Uunchai Rating : 10/10 Streaming : ZEE5

Review: Today am going to review the masterpiece by the legendary director, SoorajBarjatya. What a creation!! Spectacular Casting & Amazing Cinematography. Amitabh Bachchan , Anupam Kher , Boman Irani , Neena Gupta , Parineeti Chopra , Sarika are pleasure to watch.

A definite movie to watch with Family & friends. I would specifically request all my parent-like elders to watch this movie. In each and every moment he portrayed two perspectives of a situation. Like Ladakh in 3 Idiots, now Nepal would remain in everyone's heart after Uunchai. Songs are catchy too.

You will laugh, you will cry and end up with a satisfactorily strong impact about life and it's shades. If you are stressed out, would suggest you to watch this movie as it has that Healing Therapy. Its a Movie with simple storyline and some tremendously strong lessons for everyone.

Highly Recommended, Don't Miss It !!

Ashwanth Ashokkumar , ANAND (DABBA) was truely magical.

Ashish Vidyarthi and Sonali Kulkarni were a pleasure to watch while the adorable Dabba steals the show. A mind-blowing series of a mediocre family resides somewhere in South India.

The movie has all such elements what common people has, but it never bored me.

Brilliant series. Top notch direction and story telling. Little slow compared to regular shows but that's the beauty of this one. Can't wait for more stories like this. The stories are simple yet full of surprises and wonder. No unnecessary drama. Very natural. Real.

I personally don't want it's next season cause few things should be not be stretched no matter what once beautifully ended.

Must watch movie!
