A Complete Joke
2 March 2007
This terrible film funded off the success achieved by recent urban films such as "Kidulthood" and "Bullet Boy" is some of the most embarrassing footage I've ever seen. Fans of "8 Mile" will remember the classic storyline seeing as it's basically the same except with the inclusion of guns. This cheap and nasty copy of some recent greats reminds me of the blaxploitation films of the 1970s - 1980s all over again. What a shame for Ashley Walters who showed so much promise in Bullet Boy. If you are at all fond of the London music scene, do not watch this film. If you couldn't care less, please don't think this is what it is really like.

Donnie Darko (2001)
Purpose, Death and One Fine Debut
20 April 2003
Donnie Darko, a familiar concept to me when writing to try and pull a purpose of life into the whole film instead of just a handful of references towards petty matters such seen in its comparison Fight Club.

This film is not a story, just the message of do not be afraid of death, or destruction as we all have a purpose and "you can do anything you want" a message which plays through the film perfectly alongside the fact that Darko is not scared by anything but he's fears of being alone, his mind represents everyone's inner need to be with someone.

A beautiful story and one fine debut from the writer, I very much look forward to 'The Box'.
