The Episode That Makes Me Want Echo Gone
6 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I can't tell you how many times I cursed and yelled when Echo ruins James life in any way. I expected an episode like "The Odd Couple", but it's really torture porn.

I already hated Echo for her waiting for James to ask her for help, amused by him failing. That's sadistic behaviour. I don't care what kind of future she's from. She's not James's friend and she deserves nothing. Echo is so hateable in this episode that I wanted her to get a punch in the face. This episode falls into the category of character trying to put up with secondary character's shenanigans, and it goes way too far.

I really wanted James to burst in front of Echo when he sees the stupid "Echo's __" signs, scold her, and kick her to the curb. If she takes no hint from that, she doesn't deserve to be friends with him. The very end doesn't add salt to the wound, Echo destroying all of James's things; it dismembers an already wounded victim.

This is "Paradise PD" level torture.

An Insult To The Series
18 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Just 39 seconds into watching the first episode, I commented "I hate this already." They play it safe, but they don't avoid clichés.

If you watched the original series and the other two predecessors, this spinoff will insult fans. The animation is what one would expect of the rest.

The original series took its time answering to the mystery of the Millennium Puzzle and the other Yugi. They go deep into the backstories of the villains to make them morally grey. They also use its time effectively in developing characters. In this show, they jump right into it. They rush into the plot. They rush to get us to care about the characters. The whole plot of this spinoff comes off as a complete rehash of the original series. This time, the protagonist has to collect a hundred cards, and the spirit that joins him knows nothing about the world. The fish out of water aspect for Astral doesn't help. The protagonist, Yuma, is an insufferable idiot, even for a kid. I can't root for someone if they're unlikeable.

Yuma's rival, Kaito, is a rehash of both Kaiba and Jack. How they try to make him edgy is also a sign of teen pandering. Unlike those from the original series, I don't want to sympathize with antagonists after they attempt to justify their motivations.

Even the Barian Lords are a sign of teen pandering for how they look and what their world looks like. They go with a cliché of the two individual worlds having contrasting pallets. They rush to have us connect with the characters when they're introduced. Smart as the villains are, they are no delight to watch on screen, at all. They seem to draw things out, too. Whereas we get to see other good guys duel in G/X and 5 D's, everyone is on the sidelines. Yuma's friends get to duel only once, and that's it. They make everything about Yuma. Only Kaito and Shark get to develop.

The name is a sure sign to not work for someone. One of two villains in the first half calls himself Dr. Faker. Kaito's younger brother has an incurable disease and their father Dr. Faker makes a deal with the Barian World to save him. Could he not see that it has too many strings? Tron uses his three sons, III, IV, and V to do his dirty work, too. We needed only one broken family if you wanted a good story. It still makes things no better, though. They also give me no reason to care for them after realizing and undoing their mistakes. When I am glad that Vector has received his comeuppance, Yuma is so idiotic that he thinks that he can save Vector and make him a friend. He is not worth saving. Even the series finale is recycled from that of the original series. No villain deserves sympathy, the plot is nothing new, the characters are all jokes, and the progression is generic. The voices make things even worse in the English dubbed version.

Stay away from this show.

A Bunch of Idiots
22 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I just had to watch the video on the site's say on the best movies of the year. I was in for terrible disappointment.

Much of these were the anticipated movies of 2016, but it was also a year when everything was over-hyped. Only two of the movies listed that I've seen, I think are great. The rating's on the movies' pages may claim that the movies are good, but that may be until you actually watch them. The list is only based on users' ratings of each movie. Another disappointment is that I didn't see Zootopia on the list, which I call awesome. In fact, they should've considered the other animated movies, as well. One movie that was on the list was made under a low budget and is straight-forward, but is very entertaining. To put "Suicide Squad" at #1 is a total dick move. I gathered that it was all about fan service, it has a thin plot, and it has too much exposition. Plus, fans were furious about too little Joker. Having "Batman v. Superman" at #2 was another dick move. It was terribly over-hyped and they thought only about special effects. A ridiculous plot point and a bastardized character.

This was a waste of time, and the video may be by critics that get movies wrong.

GoldenEye 007 (2010 Video Game)
A Classic Reborn
12 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I was surprised, seeing a new GoldenEye under the Wii section of the videogames. I thought, "I should play that". Of course, the storyline was tampered with, not making it everything like the movie, but that had to be done to make the chapters into levels of this POV shoot-em-up game.

For a start, Daniel Craig took on the role in this game with the face and voice. Although, the character in the game shared a couple of the same qualities when Pierce Brosnan portrayed 007, like his cheekiness at the very end. And if I may point out, Daniel is quite the one to fill Pierce's shoes.

The one flaw of the gameplay is the automatic aiming and you have to be careful where the bullets go. Someone is likely to still be standing even if you expect to shoot an enemy in the head. Having the blood splash when shooting someone dead sort of gives a real feeling. Unlike the old games, your health regenerates overtime (unless you play 007 Classic).

The game had the same plot as the movie--the dam, the facility, tank chase through St. Petersburg, and the solar plant. Except, there's a different order of those sequences.

Though this game is nothing like the original or the movie, this is one remake well worth $40 and playing to the end. Best shooting game I've played.

Made me wanna vomit
5 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I read the book for English class and studied the themes and meanings. By the time, we were done the questions for the book, we watched the movie. Hell, it was a lot worse than the book.

The voice cast features Patrick Stewart and Kelsey Grammar, and that was the only good thing. The rest was just crap.

The movie was nothing like the book. There was no Clover or Mr. Whymper. It was Jessie who told the story and questioned how things should be. It was also ridiculous how overtime, the men started to understand Napoleon. There were a couple of other ridiculous things--Napoleon wore a suit, animals actually got distracted by the television, actually seeing Squealer's writing with the paint. Too much was cut out too.

The ending was bad too. It just made no sense. Even if it leads to the viewer's imagination, it just wasn't real. In fact, nothing from the movie felt real. The movie fails to catch attention.

So, if you want an excuse to vomit and get sick, watch this movie. It will do you good for missing something else you'd hate.

Turning Back the Nightmares
22 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The summary was right: they did re-imagine Freddy Krueger. I can see a big difference between Robert and Jackie as Freddy. Even though this was copying a ground-breaking movie and it excited me, there may have been problems.

I understand that as a series goes on, things get boring and repetitive. Because this is a reboot, I found the new storyline a little complex at first. In both the original and the reboot, Freddy was bad from the start. Like the other slasher movies I've seen, I was disappointed that all the other supporting characters died.

With today's technology for movies, everything looks more realistic. Much detail was put into Freddy's disfigured face. and beaten sweater. As for personality, Jackie made Freddy demonic. What didn't go away though, is Freddy's sense of amusement. I wouldn't say i liked for the gore.

When I watched it alone, the suspense got me going. I knew my heart accelerated, thinking at any moment, he'll pop up. The very end told me Freddy was still out there, possibly in other forms. But I forced a laugh seeing him defeated. Every bit was just startling.

For this movie, I liked how the suspense pumped me with adrenaline, making me feel alive, the make-up and detail, and the cast. I disliked the blood splattering and how the attacks can be torturing. The new Freddy Krueger is my kind of villain even though I'm not willing to own a copy. If you hate this Freddy, that's your problem.

It's Magic Time!
3 August 2010
I said that the second the movie began. Was it ever magical. This was unlike anything I have ever seen.

I came to think it'd be my type of movie and it is. Everything made sense even though it was a dream in a dream in a dream. It all felt so real (I never guessed dreams would be faster than time). It was well-written because I felt a lot.

I found every effect believable. They did a great job with the slow time, camera angles, and the gravity defiance. Everything in the dreams were believable. I really felt like it actually happened.

The cast was good too. Leo is a very skilled actor. The actors showed great emotion and motivation.

This may have been the best movie I have ever seen. It was outstanding and epic. By the time I left the theatre, I was just speechless. I loved the acting and cast, the epic storyline, and amazing effects.

Is the Sequel as Good?
14 July 2010
The sequel to the reboot can be compared by a lot. I was disappointed by its low rating. Though I found the game enjoyable, I cannot argue with the negative reactions. Once again, I know because I watched the PS2 version on YouTube.

I see the difficulty got on people's nerves. For starters, players were annoyed by "wave after wave of enemies". Thinking it'd take forever, that'll lead to stiff hands. The DS version, which I have, is not as good as the PS2 version. It's too easy to kill the enemies in the DS version. Pretty dishonourable to kill a dragon when its player gets tired.

Even though the timeline was short, it was more specific on the PS2 version, and it's more fun. The DS version has stiff images and maybe a couple glitches. But the music was so good. So, I ask myself if I only like it for the music--that and the cast. I understand there were challenges to keep the game going.

Elijah Wood and Gary Oldman return while Mae Whitman is Cynder and Billy West is Sparx. Billy was the best voice of Sparx because his high voice was right for a bug's voice. And comic mischief, my ass. I saw no humour. All jokes were just groaners. Kevin Michael Richardson--his tough, demonic voice was perfect for Gaul. In fact, it's right for any villain's voice.

What I liked about this game is the cast, the graphics, and Spyro's amazing attacks.

Is the Best Game Ever, the End?
14 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I have the Wii version of this game. So, I saw for myself the epic battle. I was amazed and very moved. What's not to like? You won't believe the game play. The downside is the difficulty. Player's were annoyed by being surrounded by too many enemies and wandering lost. What's to love is the animation. Everything seemed so realistic and detailed. The AI of your ally does a good job, too. With 2-player co-op and greater power, you'd want to find ways to be destructive and blow the grublins to hell.

We have a fantasy cast-- Frodo Baggins, Sirius Black and Luke Skywalker. Elijah Wood is the best Spyro voice ever. Christina Ricci is the best cynder voice. It made no difference to me when Sparx's voice was replaced even though I didn't understand why. Mark Hamill is one man I heard of who has a talent of changing his voice completely.

This wasn't just epic; it was also emotional. I think I felt the characters' emotion. What really got to me was the music and the song, "Guide You Home (I Would Die For You)". It made me cry. I also cried when I thought Spyro was dead. However, when I saw Spyro and Cynder fly through the valley, seeing them alive, I cried tears of joy.

Overall, I loved the beautiful music, the cast, the animation/game play, combat, and the time line. In my years of videogaming, this may have been the best game I ever played. I want Spyro to live on. I ♥ Spyro.

In My Eyes, He is New and Improved
14 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
A new era began when Sierra Entertainment rebooted Spyro. He was cute and sweet when you first knew him. Now he's a great hero.

The scenes and characters were excellent. Spyro's new look is better than the old one. His horns, tail, spines, and wings are more detailed. However, I know this because I watched the PS2 version on YouTube. I have the GBA version, which was all too easy. The PS2 version seemed like a real challenge. The cutscenes were like a CG movie.

The timeline was real as well. Spyro has amazing powers. Even though I saw history being made, I also saw history changing.

What's not to love about the cast? Elijah Wood is Spyro. Gary Oldman is Ignitus. Though the game could have done without the Capital One guy, you know--"the answer is always 'no'". Every chance Sparx had, there was an insult or a joke. At the end, the moment was ruined by Sparx's ranting. The voices of the Guardians were great too. I always thought they'd have an English accent.

Above all, I hated that there were too many jokes. I loved the timeline, the cast and the animation. Two thumbs high up!
