Kate & Leopold (2001)
What a refreshing, warm-all-over movie
I love this film. Hugh Jackman is gorgeous, along with his character. So refreshing to see good old fashioned standards, ethics, morals and straight out manners popularized. I think modern men would do well to take notes. One of my favorite movies.
Orientation: A Scientology Information Film (1996)
My advise is see it for yourself
Everyone has their own opinion, however, who knows if those opinions belong to people you would even listen to. My advise is to see the movie for yourself.
It gives you an overview of the Church of Scientology, it is very open and very frank. Honesty is the best policy, so those just wanting to take strips off Scientology don't need to bother. This film is for people who are actually interested in finding out what it is about.
Orientation is about the Scientology organizations themselves, it gives you a detailed tour of an organization and explains what each area does.
As I said, check it out for yourself and make your own decision.
Battlefield Earth (2000)
What's up with this? Not everyone has to be a critic.
What's up with this? Of course the critics would hate Battlefield Earth -- it has too many moral lessons in it for them to comprehend. And then I guess all the little black sheep have to follow suit.
Personally, I liked the movie, I went and saw it twice to try and understand what the critics were going on about. It had great special affects and I can see this movie appealed to the kids, so if they get one positive message out of it, it is worth it.
The movie got completely canned by the critics and in my books that proves it must have had some goodness to it. I would check out what other movies those so called "experts" said something bad about. I think you'll be surprised. I have even seen bad reviews on Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, only 2 of the best movies ever made. So who should we listen to??
John Travolta, as everyone knows, seems to be just a great, caring sort of a guy. He too gets attacked for this, however, take a look folks - seems to me he is a huge success I don't think anyone has the right to knock him. At least he has the integrity to say and do what he sees is the greatest good for all concerned.
Anyway, my final word is, base your decision on the actual message of the movie.
Not everyone has to be a critic! Fellow Travolta fans unite.
