Hollywood Hype
22 February 2019
Graphically, this movie does attract your attention. The rest is fairly drab and dour however. A slow and largely hackneyed plot that reaches no great heights but never quite scrapes the bottom of the barrel.

It is described as a romantic, dark fantasy and I think this should have prompted me to lower my expectations. It's a chic flick disguised as something else, though I must say - even my wife rues the loss of two hours and three minutes of her life.

I would class it is a 'mystery movie'. The mystery being - why was it made, how did it win the 'Best Picture' award at the Oscars and why did I waste my time watching it?

Diverse Views Disguise Classic British Comedy
9 December 2009
It has been so many years since I saw this but I do feel compelled to defend this gem against those who lambast it.

It is interesting and unusual to observe the diversity of opinion here. That is what humour does I suppose. It is subjective. It either charges through your funny bone at 60,000 volts or it leaves you cold and wondering why you gave it the time.

This show has some of Britain's best comic actors put together in a story that is silly and irreverent and the outcome is hilarious. The dialogue and visual comedy is beautifully delivered and the two leads (Cleese and Lowe) are superb together. This was made for them.

I can't really say anymore other than to implore you to find this and watch it. You won't be disappointed and in a world devoid of genteel humour, this is a classic inane and harmless piece of comedic brilliance.

what Do People Expect?
13 July 2008
I have just read the polling for this movie from fellow viewers and I have to say I am amazed. What did they expect? This is low-brow, basic humour, pitched at those who want for no more than a good laugh.

I tend to think that there is an element of bias here against a culture that the majority of Americans are ignorant about. Perhaps instead, it is because a Canadian team got the better of an American team that sticks in the craw somewhat? (I am neither).

Clearly, ignorance abounds. This was a funny movie and tried to be nothing more than that. Leave your prejudice at home, get to the theatre and laugh out loud. I did.

Unlike the movie, which came upon us all too soon
6 September 2002
To describe this as a B grade movie is to insult the best efforts of people who make B grade movies. Tomorrow Never Comes has a niche' somewhere down the alphabet. The characters are so stereotyped that the acting has no option but to appear wooden. Actions taken by the movie's characters often seem incongruous with their persona and there are scenes that simply have no logical place in the movie.

When i first stumbled across this movie it was 4.00am on free to air tv. No wonder! Yet, I must say that as bad as it was, it had me transfixed to the screen. I found it funny and couldn't help but reflect on Leslie Nielsen and The Naked Gun movies. Don't take it seriously and you may enjoy it, probably even laugh your head off. I know I did.
